Bit of a disaster step wise today, I've only clocked up 3,309 steps. 😟 The whole family descended on me for a surprise Easter. We had a lovely day, talked ourselves hoarse but didn't move much 😀.
4 different veg today, only small amounts of each but I'm still claiming them.

@Onegramatatime join in whenever you can 🙂
@Joolly2that sounds like a lovely day 😃

We are off easter egg hunting around the local town today!

That sounds fun. Is it a whole town thing? Everyone joins in?

10kstepsaday · 06/04/2026 15:43

@Onegramatatime I say town, it's a large village really! Lots of people joined in, kids loved it! Lots of clues to find and a chocolate egg at the end as a treat 😃

I've had a lovely day today, good walk with dog this morning followed by lots of gardening. Part of garden has been rotovated and I have been walking up and down scattering grass seeds. I found myself humming 'we plough the fields and scatter, the good seed on the land.' 😀 total steps today 17,547.
@10kstepsaday your Easter Hunt sounds lovely, a really good way to develop community spirit. Something lacking where I live.

That’s a great step count @Joolly2, sounds like a wholesome and satisfying day too.

I took my son to the zoo yesterday which was lovely, and clocked up just over 11k steps. Today I should hit target too as I walk during sons football training. It’s set to be a lovely day here, hope you are all getting good weather too.

Joolly2 · 07/04/2026 23:47

Good evening, quiet day today. Managed to get 10,349 steps.
My veg/fruit count is now up to 10. However some of them have been very small amounts. I had a veg soup with onions, carrots, peas, swede and potato for lunch. I managed to eat it but I didn't really enjoy it very much. Perhaps I should have blended it instead of leaving it chunky. I have some left so will try it tomorrow.

10kstepsaday · 08/04/2026 08:11

Well done everyone!!
Love a day in the garden @Joolly2

This was my day yesterday. We had a bit of a mental health crisis in the family and I was completely distracted (understandable) from steps. Hopefully a better day today. I am off work with the children and we may go for a long walk later to find some bluebells.

I got to 13.5K yesterday, thanks for an after work walk. Currently sitting at 8.5K so hopefully will make it to the 10k mark by the end of the day. I must say, I’m enjoying the simple consistency of it all.

10kstepsaday · 08/04/2026 20:19

Well done @Yesreallyitsme

This is me today.no bluebells in the end but I did go for my first run this year, only for 20 mins but was so nice in this weather. Helped to clear my head too.

This is also the first ever picture i have posted on Mumsnet!

I'll join in. Thank you for the thread.
I'm on Easter holidays at the moment so it feels easy, but once term begins again, I'm stuck in my classroom all day and really have to drag myself out once the DC are asleep to get my steps in. Sometimes I'm literally walking against the clock, only getting the happy 10k buzz on my wrist at 23:58!

GentleIron · 08/04/2026 21:43

Wow! That's determination. Sounds like you go out to get your steps later at night.

I am on leave too, when i resume work, i really struggle to get my steps in. I work long shifts. So I wake up an hour earlier (5am) to get my steps in. Quite tiring but the buzz i get from seeing my steps gives me energy...... till about 6pm/7pm in the evening when i suddenly deflate like an overextended ballooon!

I am full of admiration for such early rising -I can't get it together to get up as early as that although I can see it would bring countless benefits. Very impressive.

Well done @Onegramatatime and for adding a screenshot as well 🤩

Welcome @GentleIron
You are both very committed getting the steps in late or early in the day!! Inspiring!!

I've just got the 10k for today. Had quite a stressful day at work but focusing on the steps and keeping moving does help me process days like today!

Failed today as have been ferrying DC around all day and am now knackered. But I did go to the gym first thing and did 45 minutes of rowing, so although not quite steps, I got some exercise...

Onegramatatime · 09/04/2026 23:27

Thanks, @10kstepsaday . The adding a pic for me was a 'developmental' milestone 😆.
It's great to have somewhere to be accountable. Today, was a 'i am so tired' day. But thinking that i would not be having any steps to contribute on here later today, made me make time and get my steps in. I felt so happy afterwards.

I have been MIA since the 3rd I realised today. Just been busy with kids in the holidays, work and life in general! Then I missed my step target for two days in a row and got into a bit of a funk about it. Managed to drag myself out of that and back on it today, 12.3k steps. Here’s my summary for April so far, and I realise looking at it that my average is still well over 11k and higher than in March. So it’s definitely not as disappointing as I’d worked myself up to think!

@SilenceInside over 10k steps on average even after missing two is great stuff.
Well done!

A 45 minute workout is definitely not failing. Good on you. And you got yourself to the gym, first thing too!
