Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

scales went up 2lb today, bit upsetting as I was 800grams from my xmas goal. I shall keep going

L-tuna sandwich. Greek yoghurt, granola, berries.

D- chicken sandwich. Greek yogurt, granola, berries.

S- fish cakes and chilli sauce.

10km run.
Tried really hard with protein today, managed 120g. Still 73g below where nutracheck wants me. It thinks I’m an olympic athlete, not a middle aged plodder.

19,000 steps today and stayed close to my calories.

Slowly adding more fruit, veg, and salad each day. Innards are telling me to ease off on the coffee. Scales are going in the right direction.

Right - aiming for two meals today. I’m back on the “healthy ready meal” wagon for this week, which has actually worked out well in meaning I don’t need to think much. (The brand is Simmer if it would help anyone else.) Then coffee, apples, a biscuit. Forgot to weigh this morning but will try WoW.

so far so good here today.
B- gut shot
L- sourdough, chicken. Yoghurt, berries & granola. Healthy apple chocolate muffin (I made it and it is borderline disgusting, but a sprinkle of sugar and spoon of cream helped, so not quite so healthy)
D- steak and veg

If anyone was interested in my Nutracheck/ high protein issues I finally found the settings and I was on the high protein diet. I’ve decided to leave it as it is because the high protein is working for me.

This thread was so needed by me in my own health troubles and it really did help, so post as much/as little as you need 🩷

In regards to the weight stuff...I've kinda gone off the rails 🤣🙈 been eating loads recently. I'm at 9stone 7.2 haha. 10 days to lose 2.2lbs. in theory it sounds doable, but I really just need to stop eating everything in sight 🤣🙈

Weather here has been grotty again today, but dodging showers I’ve managed to get around 13000 steps so far.

Several school related things today, so meal times have been all over the place!

Havent lost the 1.5lbs I put on when ill yet, however on the plus side, it also looks like I'm not gaining anything through December yet, so Im pleased with that.

Filthy weather here too, and I’ve done nowhere near 13000 steps! I’m always so impressed by your counts @LemonDrizzle23.

I had a goats cheese omelette for my lunch and am debating between beef bourguignon or jacket potato with chicken for dinner. Possibly the beef will win as it’s in the freezer and I want to clear space in anticipation of Christmas!

I’ve jumped up 3lbs overnight and it stuck!! Aggg trying to remain calm and sensible but want to scream as another failed goal is in sight. I had 800grams to do before Xmas now I have 3lbs. Unbelievable

I don’t think I’ll be any lower tomorrow as I lost weight and then it bounced up. Will then go down again slowly, happens everytime.
I did wear a sweatshirt today which has never really fit, always been kinda bursting out of if, and it suddenly seems so much looser. I really wanted it to fit!

@socks1107 I feel your pain - I was within a hair’s breadth of 2 stone off, and now I’m 3lbs away again! So annoying.

@biscuitcat my mum died earlier this year, and the only way I really felt at peace was pounding the streets with a good podcast. It started off as a mental health thing, but I definitely think it’s good for overall well being and def helps with the weight loss….When I’m not eating giant steaks and Christmas chocolate 😂 WOW tomorrow may be ignored….

Morning! WoW is 71.9kg - lower than the past few weeks. Not much of a food plan for today yet but let’s see.

Morning everyone! Somewhat implausibly, I’m down 5lbs this week. I did the maths out of interest and for that to be accurate I’d have to have eaten minus calories this week! I went up a fair bit last week though, so I imagine some of that is overcorrection of an artificial high and some is an artificial low of its own. But even if it doesn’t stick - for at least one day I’m down into the 12s!

This week’s average is 1.5lb down on last week’s average. (I’m comparing weekly averages now to even out daily spikes). Today’s weight is my lowest since I started recording it 9 years ago.

NSV I tried a jumper on last night that has been too tight for years and it now fits.

@Fellsbells yay for your NSV! I definitely find those the most satisfying and well done on the lowest weight! @PersistentRain sounds like you've had one as well although you don't seem as celebratory, but you should be happy!

Well done too @biscuitcat - 5lbs is a lot, even if it's a mystery weight loss! It still in the 12s and you've lost so much!!!

To the WOW...
Ok, so to my surprise, I am down again on yesterday! Yay.

SW: 10 stone 6.8
CW: 9 stone 6.2
GW: 9 stone 5

Yesterday I was 9 stone 7.2, so I've somehow managed to lose a pound even with eating everything in sight!

Going to try and get out for a walk today, even though the weather is dreadful! 😬

1.2 pounds to go and 9 days!!!

Well done to everyone checking in, no matter what happens! Showing up is half of the battle. So good job. Especially in December and with such terrible weather! 🥰

Some excellent WOWs going on! Well done everyone!

Stay the same here for me, which after this foodie week I think is very fair. The next few days look like they’re going to be dry, so I will continue to get my steps in. We have several busy Christmassy evenings this week, so I have made some stuff for the freezer which can be microwaved and chucked on top of some rice quickly when we get home. Hopefully this will avoid the temptation of takeaways!

Cant believe we’re so close to Christmas now!
