How about losing one stone by Christmas 🌲

There are 14 weeks until Christmas. I’m thinking just one pound a week would crack a stone off and make a big difference.

One pound a week is doable and not too much pressure.

I am starting today, my plan is to stop being so bloody greedy and stop the mindless all day long scoffing.

Weigh in every Sunday.

Am off to dust off the scales and weigh myself, I will report back !

Would love some company.

Day 7 weigh in - I’m 10st10 down from 11st2 3/4 last Saturday morning - really pleased! I know a lot of it is just water etc but a motivating start!

Happy Friday all!

I haven’t weighed myself in the last couple of weeks, because the kids were on half term so I wasn’t as strict with food. This week they’re with their dad, and I’m away for a few days with DP.

DP has recently started Mounjaro, which is helping me to stay on track. We’re not depriving ourselves, we’re eating good quality food, we’re just not snacking on rubbish. And because we’re away from home, we don’t have all the usual bits in the fridge and cupboards, to graze on. We have had lots of lattes though.

I’ve been aiming to get below 150 lbs. I was just on 150 when half term started, so it’ll be interesting to see what I weigh when I’m home this weekend.

MightyGoldBear · 07/11/2025 09:59

11.2 today but I have a sickness bug so I'm not sure it counts šŸ™ˆ once I feel better I will try not to go crazy on food although it's so hard feeling so utterly empty.

That's good going well done @NovemberNoExcusesmust be wonderful to see that 10 on the scale !

Harrysmummy246 · 07/11/2025 11:32

Sticking to logging pretty well but have bought a pack of custard creams for DS lunch boxes etc and they are a huge weakness for me. This is a bit of a test I suppose.

Hovering around 86.5 at the moment which I'm happy with as it's better than hovering about 88....

Silverblue1985 · 07/11/2025 12:10

64.8kg for me this morning so -900g in the last week and back to what I was mid-October. Six weeks to go, be nice to see the 61 before the comma, otherwise, if I join the ā€œstone clubā€, 9.9st are around 62.8kg so that should be achievable.

I notice how my body still changes, even though I’ve ā€œonlyā€ lost 2kg since 3rd October.

Silverblue1985 · 07/11/2025 12:12

Well done @NovemberNoExcuses and keep going!
@MightyGoldBear hope you feel better soon!
@Harrysmummy246 Good luck resisting the custard creams! Just remember the drop on the scales you’ve already seen!

AreYouBrandNew · 07/11/2025 13:52

Well done everyone on the holds and losses!

MiddlingMarch · 07/11/2025 14:43

Holding steady at 85kg this morning. Which is good! I have 10kg to lose to be the weight I was for most of my adult life. I once got down to 70kg but I am unlikely to hit the 60-68kg my weight is allegedly meant to be for my height (am 170cm or around 5ft 7, recommended weight from various apps and TDEE calculators).

I will aim for 83kg by Christmas. For no specific reason.

MightyGoldBear · 08/11/2025 12:48

10.13 today I suspect just a quick glance at 10 on the scales because I'm completely empty having a sickness bug. I'm sure I'll be back up when I'm eating again. Nice to see 10 again no matter how brief šŸ˜‚

Chocolatebutton0 · 09/11/2025 11:22

Great to see all the positive updates. My weigh in today was postive, the number is very slowly going down. It’s a month of birthdays for me and then Christmas of course, hoping I can stay strong.

AreYouBrandNew · 09/11/2025 12:04

@MightyGoldBear @Chocolatebutton0 well done on the losses!

TeamToeBeans · 09/11/2025 16:34

I weighed in at 152 lbs this morning - exactly the same as last Sunday, meaning I didn’t put anything in whilst I was away. I’m calling that a win.

I’ve been strict today, no snacking, and will have soup for dinner, and I’m about to go and boil some eggs for the next few days’ work lunches.

Harrysmummy246 · 09/11/2025 18:13

Last race of the year so eating really rather dubious again. Weight spiking up, but think that might mean period on its way, mood has been vile too.
I'll weigh again tomorrow but for now I'm having a glass of wine while DH cooks and celebrating knocking some more time off my season best (and getting much much closer) to friend's time who I've always been wanting to beat.

RidingMyBike · 10/11/2025 20:12

The good news is I’ve hit my Christmas weight loss target with weeks to go. The bad news is this was entirely down to work stress.

It was a bit of a surprise to see I was below 70kg on the scales this morning.

AreYouBrandNew · 11/11/2025 07:32

@RidingMyBike sorry to hear work stress is ongoing. Hope your health is holding up while your weight is down

hobbledyhoy · 11/11/2025 14:34

I’d like to join you for some inspiration! I’ve been attempting to get to 11st for a number of years. Two pregnancies have delayed it somewhat.
I’ve 11lbs to lose and would like to get as close as I can for Xmas

AreYouBrandNew · 13/11/2025 18:40

@hobbledyhoy welcome!

AreYouBrandNew · 13/11/2025 18:41

Slow week here. Really low energy, I think due to hormones plus time of year.

better today, got out for a run

Silverblue1985 · 13/11/2025 18:55

Welcome @hobbledyhoy

Same here @AreYouBrandNew - not expecting to have lost anything. Quite a few meetings around lunchtime and not motivated to go out in the dark (more so when it’s raining like today). Plus craving more food, probably because I’m super-tired as not slept well in ages.

Well done on your run!

Greenfingers37 · 13/11/2025 18:56

3lbs down this week (just weighed at Slimming World) so am 7 down with 7 to go!!! 🄳

Silverblue1985 · 13/11/2025 20:47

Congratulations on reaching the half-way point @Greenfingers37 !

hobbledyhoy · 13/11/2025 20:54

Wow good going @Greenfingers37

MightyGoldBear · 14/11/2025 09:31

Well done everyone šŸ‘

I've been staying at 10.12 now which was my original first step goal. I like to keep it achievable otherwise I lose all motivation. So I'm setting myself a new goal of 10.5 for Christmas.
Then longer term 10stone then 9.5 but I don't want to think too far ahead. Especially with Christmas coming šŸ˜‚

I'm sticking with fasting for now but do plan to add in some exercise at some point but I know that will increase my appetite so I have to think about that carefully.

hobbledyhoy · 14/11/2025 15:32

Managed 2lbs so far this week, I tend to fluctuate a lot but hoping it’s a downward trajectory!

NotnowMavis · 14/11/2025 16:12

8 stone 7 lbs today. Four to go to my target weight. I know it doesn’t sound a lot, but honestly I am so short with titchy hands and feet that I do look dumpy even a bit overweight. I’m not missing carbs, but the difficulty is not wanting to be a diet bore when I’m out … my partner and I got together later in life and so we want to make the most of every moment, which means we go away for weekends from time to time, which inevitably means eating out…. Lovely, but fraught with temptation!
