I'm on day 1 - having regained some of the weight I lost on CD last year. Am full of if only's and have been struggling for weeks trying just to eat healthily in order to avoid the drastic step of CD!! Would be great to get a support thread going

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 18/06/2008 07:33

Thanks for the support Toomany.
I do use ketostix so at least I know I am still in ketosis. Actually I have a spot on my chin so think I may be due on .

Good luck at work.

QOD · 18/06/2008 09:28

well, I start tomorrow, I am still hunting a counsellor but have a number now, she just doesnt bloody answer!
Someone at work sold me his left overs, I so want to start!!!!!
Will keep trying to call through today and may text her if all else fails.
Did tell the freephone guy that it shouldnt be this hard!

cluttercup · 18/06/2008 09:53

Hi everyone - a CD newbie here. This is day one and I'm really interested to read all your posts. I have always dismissed CD and the like as being too radical (more me being in denial about the impact of my weight I think) but compared to heart disease and a stroke I guess they aren't radical at all!

I have about 3 stone to lose to fall into the category of normal weight range.

oggsfrog · 18/06/2008 12:33

Hello Clutter

What flavour have you tried?

cluttercup · 18/06/2008 15:47

Hi Oggsfrog! In Cluttercups adventure in CD lan we have tried lactose free cappuccino (fine but very sweet), strawberry shake made into a mousse and a .....broccoli and cheese soup. I was very dismissive of your comments about the soup but I can only liken it to mushrrom soup with half a can of shoe polish melted in. It is foul! I managed 2/3 of a bowl holding my nose before admitting defeat. Hope the other soups are nicer !

toomanyshoes · 18/06/2008 17:42

Hi Cluttercup, hope day 1 going well so far! I only had the soups in week 1 but didn't like them at all. Stuck to shakes last week and have shakes and bars this week, although the 2 bars I have tried so far have been fairly revolting! Haven't tried the mix-a-mousse stuff yet. Didn't think you were allowed it for first 2 weeks? Is it nice?

Well went to my work thingy today and just sat in the other room while everybody had lunch, although there was a huge plate of brownies in front of me all day! managed to resist and drank copious amounts of water.

Oggs - hope your day of SSing going well, will keep fingers crossed for your weigh in tomorrow!

cluttercup · 18/06/2008 18:58

Mix-a-mousse with strawberry shake powder - it's edible I suppose!

I have to stick to this but am not terribly impressed with the flavours so far. Which is the nicest soup? And which bars are nice?

cluttercup · 18/06/2008 19:48

7.46pm and cluttercup is feeling slightly nauseous and has a headache. Am contemplating what to have as my last pack of the day before retiring to bed to avoid temptation!

toomanyshoes · 18/06/2008 19:57

Do you have any mint choc cluttercup? They are really yum if you make them with hot water. You will feel loads better in a couple of days, I had a terrible headache from caffeine withdrawal (don't like tea of coffee without milk so have given it up!) but feel great now

cluttercup · 18/06/2008 20:03

...of course...haven't had any coffee all day, hence the headache!

Yes I have a choc mint one which I'll take to bed with me. Funny thing is, I haven't been at all hungry. I'm normally the kind of girl who can't get from breakfast to lunch without a snack....

QOD · 19/06/2008 16:38

Well, i started!
I had spicey tomato for brekkie and it wasnt bad! However, totally inept at mixing so the strawberry one aI had at lunch was all lumpy. Ho hum
Broccoli and cheese in a bit.
Have finally got a counsellor, I see her this coming Monday. I told her i have done it before and will tell her the sachets i got are from then, dont want to get told off LOL/
I just made spag bol for dh & dd and sigh. I drank a huge bottle of water and now have a cup of black tea.
sigh.

oggsfrog · 19/06/2008 16:50

Welcome aboard QOD .
How's it going Clutter?

I had my weigh in today...

08.05.08 - 14st 1lb (start weight)
15.05.08 - 13st 6lb (wk 1 -9lb)
21.05.08 - 13st 3lb (wk 2 -3lb)
29.05.08 - 13st 3lb (wk3 -0lb)
05.06.08 - 12st 10lb (wk4 -7lb)
12.06.08 - 12st 9lb (wk5 -1lb)
19.06.08 - 12st 6lb (wk6 -3lb)

I lost 3lbs, so that's 23lbs altogether.

I had half a butterscotch for lunch; no breakfast as I was out early to be weighed (in my flimsiest clothes ).
Just had a cup of Marigold veg bouillon, and will be having grilled pork and some asparagus for tea.
Have bought a celebratory bottle of gin, so G& diet T on the cards for later

cluttercup · 20/06/2008 13:11

Well done oggsfrog! All going ok here - I must be losing something as my clothes feel different! Am also feeling very up beat for some bizarre reason! This is only day 3 though!!!

oggsfrog · 23/06/2008 07:26

How are you getting on QOD and Clutter?

I was very bad yesterday and had a day off. Won't go into details as I listed all my cheats on the other thread. Suffice to say I'm and with myself and am back SSing, and hoping to make a loss by Thursday.

Hope you did better.

MissingMyHeels · 23/06/2008 11:25

Ordered some Cho Orange flavour this week, just made it, euurrgghhh revolting.

Lost 10lbs and then had a week off as was on AB's, haven't weighed yet so don't know the damage but stayed in ketosis for most of it.

I think this diet works because it tastes so bloody disgusting you don't want to eat/drink them.

QOD · 23/06/2008 14:13

well, I ate a bag of skips & some peanuts. So cross with myself but been so incredibly hungry today and obsessing about food.
Supposed to see counsellor today and keep ringing and texting her as I have lost her bloody address and she has her mobile off.
I even tried to throw it up.......... how pathetic,

so chuffed off right now.

oggsfrog · 24/06/2008 07:20

Back on track. Stuck to three shakes yesterday (and a tiny smidgeon of cheese).
Need to up the water today.

oggsfrog · 26/06/2008 14:17

Where are you all????

08.05.08 - 14st 1lb (start weight)
15.05.08 - 13st 6lb (wk 1 -9lb)
21.05.08 - 13st 3lb (wk 2 -3lb)
29.05.08 - 13st 3lb (wk 3 -0lb)
05.06.08 - 12st 10lb (wk 4 -7lb)
12.06.08 - 12st 9lb (wk 5 -1lb)
19.06.08 - 12st 6lb (wk 6 -3lb)
26.06.08 - 12st 5lb (wk 7 -1lb)

That's a total loss of 24lbs

toomanyshoes · 27/06/2008 12:22

I'm here Oggs! Well done on your loss, 24lbs is loads! Are your clothes feeling nice and loose?

I had my 3rd weigh in on tuesday and had lost another 3lbs so 16lbs in total. Really pleased and still finding it fairly easy to stick to. Want to continue until 1st of August as I have a friend coming down to stay for the weekend and will definitely be eating out. If I feel like I can go back to it after that I will do it for another month, if not I'll switch to Slimming World. Got to lose the weight before I go back to work in October!

oggsfrog · 28/06/2008 10:15

Oh bum! Drank vodka last night and took pity on the banana and choc chip cake . I'm such a divvy.

toomanyshoes · 28/06/2008 15:33

Oh Oggs, don't beat yourself up, it's just a little glitch. Just get back on track today and I'm sure you won't have done any damage!

I have banned all snacky food from my house whilst i am doing this! just sent DH out with DD to have an ice cream at the ice cream place round the corner so I don't get tempted!

Tried freezing a choc tetra to make ice cream the other day and it was yum (needed a blast in micro first as was bit too hard) and have made a strawberry mousse with the mix-a-mousse today, really nice too. Going to try and have 1 bar, 1 mousse, 1 ice cream and one hot choc and mint shake every day - has taken me weeks to work out what stuff i do and don't like on this diet.

Hope everybody else is doing ok (or is it only you and me left Oggs?!)

oggsfrog · 28/06/2008 18:56

Today hasn't been toooooo bad . Haven't been able to get straight back into cd as felt hungoverish.
I defrosted some scotch broth and was going to have that for lunch but didn't eat it and had some tinned salmon with mayo and cucumber instead figuring that at least that was low carb.
I was going to have a shake now but have somehow ended up with a small glass of whisky instead .

Must get back on track tomorrow. The flavours I'm favouring are banana, strawb and forest fruits. I have one sachet split between 2 meals and then eat some veg and protein for tea. I save my last shake for bedtime and it's always choc mint. I make a cup of peppermint tea and use that to mix the shake with.

I've not tried any mousses and hated the frozen banana tetra that I tried.
I've avoided the bars up to now but I picked up a peanut crunch one last week that I'm saving for best , and think I may try some of the bars next week and split one into 2 meals.

toomanyshoes · 28/06/2008 19:43

mmm, whisky today sounds ok then. I made a banana ice cream last week and it was foul. I think the banana tetra has a really chemical taste. Choc much better.
So do you use a plain choc shake with mint tea or a chocolate mint shake and make it more minty with the tea? I have been having mint tea occasionally but its no replacement for my usual 6 cups of PG. I think I miss tea more than food!
Good luck with rest of the weekend - soon we will be thin and it will all have been worth it!!!

oggsfrog · 29/06/2008 10:47

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . When will I ever learn?
The small whisky led to too many large wines, which led to two spoonfuls of spag bol, which led to four chocolate biscuits, which led to a piece of banana and choc chip cake, which led to a pork pie with mustard . I think I must be due on...

Anyway, I'm suitably mortified this morning and have had a banana shake and a peppermint tea.

I use a choc and mint shake in the evening. Glad that the frozen banana hatred is perfectly understandable and not just me. They are disgusting aren't they?

You're doing really well and are putting me to shame .

toomanyshoes · 30/06/2008 11:12

Oh dear Oggs, not a great weekend then! How was the rest of yesterday? I do find weekends much harder, everything seems to revolve around food. How you doing today? I have made all my shakes into mousse for the last 24 hours. Really liking eating something rather than just drinking.
It is very boring isn't it? Looking forward to switching over to slimming world in a month or so!
