I'm on day 1 - having regained some of the weight I lost on CD last year. Am full of if only's and have been struggling for weeks trying just to eat healthily in order to avoid the drastic step of CD!! Would be great to get a support thread going

Blimey Oggs, that's a brilliant loss! Well done! can you notice the difference yet? I can't wait til something feels loose or somebody notices, i think it will really spur me on.

Looks like another pound off here (which would be 8lbs in 5 days) but will to wait til Tuesdays official weigh in to see how much i've lost on the CD scales. Got a dreadful sore throat today, hoping I don't get ill as think it will be much harder to do this!

have a good day everyone

surreylady · 06/06/2008 10:05

Well Done Ladies - I am also doing my best this week - do share some of your challenges also - About 6/7lb down since Monday but know that the first week is always larger - have a 40th party to attend this weekend - so will probably slip back a pound or two but will be back on track by Monday - I think for me that the first signs notices after about 8lbs so hopefully you are feeling the difference too.....

hattiejacques · 06/06/2008 12:08

Hi everyone. Great to see so many people doing so well. I've been on the diet 2 weeks today and have lost a stone! That's more than when I did it the first time which is weird. Have struggled this week and have to confess I picked a little when I shouldn't have. I've got 3 weeks to go to my hols and want to keep up my motivation although I know having lost so much so quickly it's bound to slow down. Good luck over the weekend!!

Weighed myself today and lost 9lbs in six days what is even more amazing is that I have been eating food since Fri as am on medication that needs proper food.

Just been eating carb free so v pleased that I'm still in ketosis and losing. Back on it on Fri.

oggsfrog · 10/06/2008 09:27

Well done, that is fantastic .

I'm not losing at moment. I suspect it's because I'm not drinking enough water.... and also because my 'small' evening meals have been getting somewhat larger .

Have started walking in the mornings (1-2 miles uphill), and will have to cut down to minimum food levels again. Hey ho.

chocolatespiders · 10/06/2008 19:43

oggs- how many packs are you having with you meal...?

oggsfrog · 11/06/2008 08:47

Spider, I'm having half a pack morning, half a pack lunchtime, no pack with meal and one pack (hot choc and mint) before I go to bed. So 2 packs a day.
(I know I should be having 3 )

chocolatespiders · 11/06/2008 19:22

i am having small tin of tuna.... with cucumber, sprig onion, watercress, spinach and rocket - for lunch
then 1 pack in the evening,
loads of water

i know it is prob not enough but i am desperate i am going on a date in 2.5 weeks

chocolatespiders · 11/06/2008 19:23

how many spoon fulls do you use if doing half a pack?

I have also had hypnotherapy, so really dont feel hungry

oggsfrog · 11/06/2008 19:52

I just tip out about half then have the other half later.
Are you not having any breakfast? You will not be getting enough of the right vits and minerals etc on just 1 pack and the tuna salad lunch.

chocolatespiders · 11/06/2008 19:57

and do you use half the ammount of water..

norm have an apple for breakfast

maybe i will have half a pack now - didnt think about it before

oggsfrog · 12/06/2008 07:06

I've never used the suggested amount of water. I use about 200 - 250ml of water per half pack, I don't really measure it.

Tbh I'd have have half or better still a full pack for breakfast rather than an appple. Fruit is high in carbs (it's the sugar) and won't be giving you as many nutrients etc as the pack would. It could also be putting you out of ketosis.

Are you not seeing a cdc?

chocolatespiders · 12/06/2008 09:53

no i am not seeing a cdc..... i just have the packs.... I know my local one though so may see her in a few weeks when i ahve run out....

had half for breakfast but only used 100ml water. so will maybe try to add more to my one later and see how it tastes

hope you have a great day

toomanyshoes · 14/06/2008 15:29

Hello, how is everybody doing? I'm on day 13 and still not eaten anything! Lost 8lbs at my official weigh in on tuesday but 10lbs on my scales! Looks like about 13lbs on my scales now though so really pleased.

can't believe how easy I'm finding it to stick to so far, not too hungry and I find it much less stressful not having to think about food at all. I have a few social things coming up though and think I'll find that harder.

Off for a strawberry shake now, good luck everyone!

oggsfrog · 15/06/2008 10:14

Well done you, toomanyshoes!

I'm still having half a shake for breakfast, half for lunch and a small () meal for tea. Then I have a choc and mint shake at bedtime.
I know I'll find it difficult today as I make dh and dd bacon butties for lunch and I'll be soooooo tempted to pick at the bacon.
Then I'm doing a roast chicken for tea and will be in agonies about the roast potatoes, stuffing etc.

QOD · 15/06/2008 15:21

can you get it anywhere but from a counsellor? Bloody hard work getting hold of one round here.
One email I sent via cambridge bounced back and the other pointed me back to that one........
I just want the ruddy diet sachets!

oggsfrog · 15/06/2008 19:43

Have you ever done it before QOD?

Try ringing the number on the website. You'll actually get to speak to a human and they'll be able to give you numbers for some CDCs who aren't listed on the site.

I have to travel 30+ miles to my nearest one

LullyMummaOfOne · 16/06/2008 10:02

Hi, can i join this thread please. I started CD on Saturday so only day 3 now, im feeling ok just a little weak and tired. I love all the shakes and soups so far, but not sure if thats because im so hungry.

Do you know if we can have camomile tea, im sure my CDC said yes but the booked says no.
Thanks

oggsfrog · 16/06/2008 11:44

Hello Lully, you found us then .

Strictly speaking, according to the booklet tea made from leaf is okay - if it's made from the flower then it's not. Chamomile is from the flower so it depends how strict you want to be.
I use Peppermint tea.

LullyMummaOfOne · 16/06/2008 12:25

Thank you OF, I also had peppermint this morning which is ok.

Im not sure if i can stick to the sole sorce next week, i might go onto the + programme as im still so hungry! I will wait and see what Friday brings when i get weighted in!

QOD · 16/06/2008 15:09

I did it last year, it was just for a month or so at the end of a diet, but this time, a I have put back on my 3 stones............ i want to START on it.
On hold to them at the mo waiting for number of someone near me!
Hopeless. I can't drive 40 miles round

oggsfrog · 17/06/2008 07:28

Hope you managed to find one a bit nearer. Living out in the middle of nowhere I've got used to journeys of epic proportions to get anywhere. It's a 20 mile round trip just to take dd to school .
Luckily the CDC is in the town where I do my shopping so I co-ordinate my visit to her with the weekly shop.
Still afer I've taken/collected dd to/from school (opposite direction of course ), and done my trip to and around town I've clocked over 100 miles (doesn't bear thinking about with the price of fuel).

Bit fed up this morning. I drank 4lt of water yesterday and walked and watched what I ate but I'm 2lb up. Gah! Might SS for the next 2 days before weigh in...

toomanyshoes · 17/06/2008 21:59

Hi QOD and Lully Hope you're feeling less hungry today Lully and QOD, hope you've found a counsellor.

Had weigh in number 2 today and lost another 5lbs so 13lbs in total. Can really see the difference now so very pleased. Still feeling very motivated, so much so that i even joined a gym today just got to actually use it now!

Got some bars today and had first one earlier, it was chocolate but wasn't very nice. Think I prefer the shakes. Read up about how to turn the shakes into muffins on another site so might try that.

Only down side so far is horrible taste in my mouth, feel like I have a hangover (I wish!)

Oggs, sure the 2lbs is just a bit of water retention. Can't be fat on 3 packs and a meal. Am debating whether to do the add-a-meal week as think it might make me more likely to cheat. I like the fact that I'm not allowed anything else (am weird )

oggsfrog · 18/06/2008 07:07

I know Toomany, it must be water retention . In fact I'm only on 2 packs and a meal.
It's just so disheartening. This is the point I always get stuck.
If anything I may be eating slightly too many veg and a slightly larger than recomended portion of chicken/tuna, but hell, I am sticking to the listed foods. I usually eat tuna with broccoli and cauli - it's not like I'm sneaking cream cakes and buttery mash .

Ah well. It's weigh in tomorrow so I'm going to SS today.
I weigh at home every day so another thing I have to contend wth is the fact that at my 'offficial' weigh in I'm always a few lbs up on what I weigh at home.

Must persever.... must persevere...

toomanyshoes · 18/06/2008 07:27

you can do it Oggs! Deffo water unless you have discovered a highly calorific kind of brocolli Even if tomorrows weigh in isn't what you'd like it to be I bet you get a big loss next week when all the waters gone. Have you got ketostix to check you are still in ketosis? I find it reassuring when I can see they are still pink as I know the fat is being burned up, even if it doesn't show on the scales yet.
I weigh every day too, dreadful habit isn't it. I always weigh more on CD scales too.

Got to work today (officially still on mat leave) and got to contend with big posh lunch and cakes. Don't want them to know I'm on CD (too many opinions on it, gets on my nerves!) might just say I have upset tum or something
