I'm on day 1 - having regained some of the weight I lost on CD last year. Am full of if only's and have been struggling for weeks trying just to eat healthily in order to avoid the drastic step of CD!! Would be great to get a support thread going

All the questions were to Hercules

In theory it is giving you all the vitamins/nutrients you need, but it is still a Very Low Calorie Diet, giving you about 425 cals a day.

Tbh, although I don't actually feel hungry I do feel drained and limp, and am hoping that this small meal will help with my energy levels too.

oggsfrog · 31/05/2008 15:05

In total I want to lose 3.5 stone.
I started at 14st 1lb and as of this morning I was 12st 12lb.

It is a very drastic diet, but totally safe.

hercules1 · 31/05/2008 15:07

I lost 31/2 stone last year sole sourcing and lost 31/2 stone. I felt great on it. REally good and miss it. I have over the year put on a stone and would love to use cd to lose it but cant afford it now.

There isa really good forum for cd. I'll find it for you.

chocolatespiders · 31/05/2008 15:07

does that mean you have lost 16 pound in 3 weeks?

hercules1 · 31/05/2008 15:09

warning - very addictive forum but great support and advice

oggsfrog · 31/05/2008 15:15

Ooh, I've tried that one Hercules but find it a bit netmums with all the tickers and flashing pink fuzzy things.
I can't be doing with it .

Working it out I've actually lost 17lbs (1st 3lbs) in just over three weeks.

chocolatespiders · 31/05/2008 15:21

whoops i can never remember how many pound to count in the stone...
i have gone from 16.6 to 15.8 so how many pound would that be
thanks

oggsfrog · 31/05/2008 15:34

12lbs . Are you on the CD?

chocolatespiders · 31/05/2008 15:51

not not really i have been in the past....

i am trying to lose some weight very very quickly... i know that is bad but i really need to do it... i do have some shakes left over so i have been having them... and fruit...and lots of water

what other veg is low carb
thanks

oggsfrog · 31/05/2008 19:51

I'd give the fruit a miss to be honest - berries are the least carby but are still quite high.

Usually the green leafy veg have the least carbs. Broccoli, cabbage, courgettes, lettuce and watercress are good. Cauliflower too.

You want to avoid any root veg... potatoes, carrots, parsnips etc.

Check out the low carbing thread for ideas (smile).

If you are still using three CDs a day that will be giving you about 42g of carbs so you do need to watch whatever else you are eating as it will easily push you out of ketosis.

MissingMyHeels · 02/06/2008 19:45

I start CD tomorrow - v.excied but bit scared. Hoping I don't feel to crap as have little baby who demands lots of energy!

Surreylady - where in Surrey are you? We could have the same counsellor! (I know it's a big county but you never know!)

Any tips for me as I go into Ketosis?

toomanyshoes · 02/06/2008 20:37

Missingmyheels - i started today! hasn't been nearly as bad as I thought and quite liked the shakes and soups. Every time I've had a wave of hunger I've had a massive glass of water and it's helped.

I have 3.5 stone to lose, how about you?

MissingMyHeels · 02/06/2008 21:12

3.5/4stone(would like to have buffer!)

Am so looking forward to being thin again, damn pregnancy!

toomanyshoes · 02/06/2008 21:26

I can't even blame DS for my weight, he is 5 months now and I weigh the same as when I got pregnant with him. I put on 4 stone when I had DD though (she is 3) and never lost it afterwards. No more babies for me though so the fat arse has got to go

surreylady · 02/06/2008 21:57

Hello Missing My Heels - I am Guildford - is this in your patch too ?

MissingMyHeels · 02/06/2008 22:42

It was until a couple of years ago, moved to Epsom (via Clapham) to try and improve my commute. Love Guildford though so still spend lots of time there.

Hopefully will be thin and lovely by end of summer so can swan about in skimpy dresses for drinks by the river

surreylady · 02/06/2008 22:50

I'll drink to that - just not this week - good luck to all for the week ahead

MatildasMummy · 03/06/2008 12:58

back on the shakes this morning. saw my CDC last night and we had a good catch up. Put on quite a lot of what I had already lost, but the good news is that I'm still over 2 stones up. Quite hungry today, but I'm working from the office today rather than home so at least there isn't as much temptation. lots of water and tea keeping me going - saving the coke zero till the train journey home - a real weak point of the day!
hopefully i should be in ketosis by the end of tomorrow, then it will start to get a bit easier. my resolution is that instead of the dinner/glass of wine evening routine i will have a bath, become regular with my application of johnsons' holiday skin (to ensure tan as aswell as slimness) and also start to tackle the paperwork mountain.
good luck to everyone....

MissingMyHeels · 03/06/2008 13:17

Hi MM!

I have a Matilda too! Had first shake this morning, tasted ok but nothing special, feel a bit sick so not attempting "lunch" yet.

Wisp · 03/06/2008 13:24

Right hello everyone, I'm back on the diet now after a planned 2 days off turned into 6 days by magic

Scales show 7lbs on, but I know glycogen stores weigh up to 5lbs, so It'll be gone in no time.

Trying to be positive about it!! Coming off SS just is not worth it, and wont be doing it again! Keep it up everyone

toomanyshoes · 03/06/2008 13:29

Morning,
MatildasMummy - I have been trying to find other things to do instead of evening meal routine too. Gave myself a manicure and pedicure last night and going to fake tan tonight. bought a couple of books i have been wanting to read for ages too. Anything to avoid staring at DH's dinner wistfully!

MissingMyheels, what shake did you have? I tried butterscotch this morning, was quite nice.

Not feeling so hungry today and weighed myself this morning to find that I have lost 4lbs in 24 hours!! Not sure how this is possible but was very pleased!

MatildasMummy · 03/06/2008 16:37

i'm struggling but hanging on in there.... 1.5 litres of sparkling water down. will have to stop soon as I have a 2.5 hour train journey home and I hate going to the loo on trains! 2 choc tetras so far and will have leek and potato soup for tea.

MatildasMummy · 03/06/2008 22:24

Can't quite believe it, but I'm in ketosis by the end of Day 1. Had to do three test strips before I took it as fact, but it would appear that it's true.

Only hope the rest of this will be as easy!

hope all sticking in there.

toomanyshoes · 05/06/2008 15:04

Hello, how is everyone doing today? Day 4 here and seem to be in ketosis now (stick went v slightly pink and am a bit less hungry!) still waiting for 'feelings of wellbeing and energy' as promosed by CDC! Might be too much to ask with 2 little children I suppose.
Still not finding it as hard as I thought I would and scales said I'd lost 7lbs when I weighed this morning. I know its just water/glycogen stores at the mo but still nice to see the number going down.
Hope you all have a good day

oggsfrog · 06/06/2008 07:54
