i had 6 stone to lose and had lost 5, then got pregnant and gained 3 stone back by eating tonnes everyday (my own fault!) so I have 4 stone total to lose.

A little about me - I have a 5m baby, a DH who works away for months at a time and only one family member local to help me out (they have my baby one day a week). My babies clingy and doesn’t like to be put down. I’m limited with exercise still after my c section so no strenuous activity, I’ll do walking and light dance workouts as and when I can with baby. my main focus is food. I drink barely no water and eat on the go a lot. Also snack on big chocolate bars at night!!!

when I lost weight before, I did calorie counting. Eating things I usually would in smaller portions, lots of water and fruit/veg. The hardest part is the first week then it got much easier. I’m starting again today. I’m ashamed of the body I’m in.

my maintenance is 2300 cals so I’ll have 1800 a day to lose 1 lb a week hopefully.

each evening I’ll let you know my daily food diary and if I’ve managed any exercise. Feel free to join me!!

I have a 3 month old who is also clingy, sleeping only in the carrier or baby wrap. I am already taking part in another daily food diary thread but I can keep you company if you want?

Of course!! My baby’s the same. Just had him in the carrier haha. I do lots of pacing round the house with a 9kg baby on me!!

im very realistic with my situation and tbh don’t have time to have boiled eggs and avacado every morning as much as that would be nice! Excited to share my daily food diary later and then will share how much lbs I’ve lost at the end of each week

Starting is the hardest part. You’ve got this!

I spend a lot of time outside walking in the woods (I live in the middle of nowhere) with my little one. She is my third, but the first who is fussy in a back carry, but I am working on it, I don’t like hiking without seeing the ground under my feet!

I have been tracking calories since 2023. I lost 13 kilos back then and got pregnant, gained 16 during pregnancy but I have already lost most of the weight, I am back to my pre-pregnancy size. I am still tracking calories though - I got used to it and I also don’t trust myself especially as I am ebf. My goal is to keep fit and make healthy choices. We don’t have any relatives nearby but we share work with DH.

meagain3 · 16/06/2025 22:14

Breakfast - croissant, banana and a coffee.
Lunch - Red Leicester and coleslaw in whole meal bread, strawberries and chilli sunbites
Dinner - pot noodle!

snacks today , pistachios, 2 squares of galaxy choc and a vegetable sushi snack pack.

managed to do a 15 min dance workout and plenty of steps!

Can I join please? Xxx

froglet99 · 16/06/2025 22:34

I would love to join. I’ve tried calorie counting a few times but I’m not strict about measuring things. I try to guesstimate which probably defeats the whole purpose but I suppose it’s just about thinking about what I’m eating rather than mindlessly gorging on things! I have at least 1.5 stone to lose.

B: cereal bar and a coffee - 150 calories.
L: prawn salad, lentil chips and an apple - 500 calories.
D: homemade breaded chicken, oven chips and salad (really not sure on those calories - struggle with homemade meals rather than pre packaged stuff!)
S: another coffee, a cup of tea and a Kit Kat (200 calories).

Could be better, could be worse!

HennyPenny27 · 16/06/2025 22:51

I’d love to join too! Id like to make some changes to my diet and lose some weight

Sunshineandrainbow · 16/06/2025 22:54

Great idea

Katypp · 16/06/2025 23:13

I'd love to join! I tried to start a similar thread for intermittent fasters a couple of months ago but no takers sadly 😶
So I have lost 4.5 stones in the past year and have another 2.5 to go roughly.
I follow the intermittent fasting method, so have two days on 800 calories and the rest around 2100 calories.
I walk around 5 miles a day and also do a 10 min dumbell session every morning.
Today, i have eaten (non fast day)
B: muesli, milk, strawberries and banana
L: Cheese, ham and tomato panini, packed of Quavers, pear
Afternoon: Tea plus piece of HM cake (I bake a traybakecrecipe and cut it onto 30 squares, around 129-200 calories, depending on the flavour)
D: Macaroni cheese/pasta bake thing with pesto, peas, and kale, sweetcorn
Bed: Cup of hot chocolate made with half milk and half coconut milk

meagain3 · 16/06/2025 23:14

All welcome to join! As I say I’ve done this before and just ate my general stuff but more mindful to NOT eat a whole galaxy bar each night to myself! Already just today i feel better. I don’t have the time with baby to cook homemade amazing meals every day but as long as I’m in a deficit it’ll work..not hungry at all today. Usually I’m in bed and ravenous by now😅

Oo amazing day of eating..sounds delicious. I’d love to do intermittent fasting but I feel dizzy , headachey etc when I don’t eat enough in a day🙈

OP posts:
meagain3 · 16/06/2025 23:18

@froglet99 agreed. Even just roughly tracking by writing down what you’ve ate you can make better choices. I look at what I’ve eaten through the day and that alone allows me to think ‘look you’ve had enough today!’

I found that I did get used to it and it's just part of my routine now. It helps that I am a keen cook and I enjoy the challenge of squeezing nice food into 800 calories!
This week's fast day's are Wednesday and Friday

Sunshineandrainbow · 17/06/2025 07:28

Have a great day everyone and drink plenty of fluid it's going to be hot!

I am currently trying to clear my freezer so meals are a bit random!

Will report back later on today's food.

I have approx 3 stone to loose after losing 3 already but have come to a bit of a stall and need to refocus.

Congrats on the first 3 stone! I never drink water. I probably have 1 Pepsi max and 1 coffee a day. Dreadful. I am always dehydrated with a headache! I had 1litre of water yesterday so that was an improvement atleast

This is yesterday’s food:

Overnight oats (rolled oats, chia, poppy, flax, sunflower and hemp seeds) plus kefir and a banana - this is my staple breakfast that Ive had for the last four years.

Smoked mackerel, egg, cucumber, red cabbage stir fried in ginger sauce and spring onions

Steak tartare, daikon, cabbage and spring onion, piece of gf crisp bread

Snacks: two coffees (I’m testing a new brand of oat milk), vegan magnum, kladkaka made by DC, two slices of cheese, small nectarine

2228 kcal, 8 km hike with baby, recovery day - 20 minutes of hypopressives before going to bed. I only had time to do hypopressives at half past 11 pm but it was great, very relaxing.

I have quite a repertoire of 'pudding porridges' I swap out, but banoffee is my favourite.

A: 10 cherries
D: Salt & pepper chicken with a couple tbsp boiled rice and soy sauce

I lost 2.5 stone a few years ago and kept it off but recently half a stone has crept back on so I'm counting cals again.

Today I've had

B: 0% fat greek yogurt and half a scoop of protein powder mixed in. Topped with blueberries and chia seeds.

L: 3 scrambled eggs and tomatoes in 2 mini wraps

D: Falafel, tzatziki, houmous, feta, rocket, cucumber, peppers

Snacks: mini twister, banana, cashew nuts

Think that's about 1800 cals and I maintain on 2300

High protein and less pasta/bread works for me
