My food diary as someone who’s previously lost 5 stone. Join me!

i had 6 stone to lose and had lost 5, then got pregnant and gained 3 stone back by eating tonnes everyday (my own fault!) so I have 4 stone total to lose.

A little about me - I have a 5m baby, a DH who works away for months at a time and only one family member local to help me out (they have my baby one day a week). My babies clingy and doesn’t like to be put down. I’m limited with exercise still after my c section so no strenuous activity, I’ll do walking and light dance workouts as and when I can with baby. my main focus is food. I drink barely no water and eat on the go a lot. Also snack on big chocolate bars at night!!!

when I lost weight before, I did calorie counting. Eating things I usually would in smaller portions, lots of water and fruit/veg. The hardest part is the first week then it got much easier. I’m starting again today. I’m ashamed of the body I’m in.

my maintenance is 2300 cals so I’ll have 1800 a day to lose 1 lb a week hopefully.

L- cheese and tomato toastie with a coffee
D - had a bbq. I had a few chipolatas, a pork chop, potato salad and a side salad. Didn’t count cals today but haven’t been obscene so hoping all is fine☺️

Yesterday
Lunch - French stick with hummus and spinach, sensation crisps.

Dinner - 2 veggie burgers on the BBQ, halloumi and some more crisps and dips.

Melon and grapes. 5 light rich tea biscuits. Kinder egg. Was at work till 1am and was a bit picky at the biscuits tin!

B: Greek yogurt & half scoop vanilla protein powder mixed together, with blueberries, raspberries, chia seeds, honey

L: Toasted bagel with cheese, mayo, tomatoes

D: Roast peppers, lentils, tzatziki, spinach, green beans, courgetti, with a pesto/ mozarella / veg melt

Snacks: apple, walnuts, aperol spritz

Walked 15k steps

B: 40g oats, 15g chia seeds, 30g chocolate whey, 100g blueberries & a latte with low fat milk.

S: babybel, 4 crackers with tuna & a coke zero.

L: Wrap with 120g chicken, a cheese slice & 25g coleslaw. 40g of peas & 30g of sweet potato fries.

D: Roast beef with tbsp of mushroom sauce, cup of veggies & 2 new potatoes. Slice of apple pie, ice cream & strawberries to finish it off! Coke zero & a cup of tea too.

1979kcal, so about a 100 over today. 20g of protein short & the rest of my macros were a bit off too! We ate with family for dinner so a bit harder to control, and tomorrow I'll be back on track. 💪🏼

I had a maintenance day today as out with a friend for cake and coffee!

B - cookie and blueberry’s
L - pepperoni and salad in a roll , bag of discos, peperami
S - huge slice of delicious chocolate cake and a coffee
D - bit of a random one just using what’s left in the house, had some pasta, rocket, cucumber , tomato’s and light mayo :)

will get back on it tomorrow.

Evening all!
10 mile hike for me today, 25k steps. Also did 15 mins dumbell arms this morning.

B: Sausage and tomato roll, nectarine
L: Picnic ham and tomato roll, bag of Squares crisps, cherries, strawberries, grapes
Post walk treat 1: A Mars bar!! Only 225 calories - I am sure they were 300-odd when I dieted as a teenager in the 1980s. They must have shrunk dramatically
Post walk treat 2: Tea and piece of HM cake
Dinner: Nigellas naan pizza, half corn on the cob, sweet potato fries, salad
Bedtime: Hot chocolate
= 1936 calories

Evening! I did enjoy myself last night but I definitely overdid it both with food and booze 😬 today hasn't been much better but has had its own challenges.
Back on it tomorrow, hopefully not too much damage done and the heatwave finally seems to be over so I might even get a walk in!

Fell off the wagon yesterday! Craving all the carbs. No exercise.

L: Cheese, tomato & mayo toasted bagel

D: Roast dinner - chicken, roast potatoes and carrots, yorkshire pudding, green beans, cauliflower cheese, gravy

S: Fruit mentos, 2 white chocolate cookies, lentil crisps, sweet chilli peanuts

Back on track with food today. 💪🏻 Macros are pretty off as it was meant to be a gym day & I had to swap it to tomorrow, but I hit my calorie & protein goal at least.

B: 50g oats, 15g chia seeds, 100g strawberries, 30g chocolate whey.

L: wholemeal pita with 50g houmous, 50g grated carrot, romaine lettuce leaves & 30g green olives. 200g 0% fat greek yoghurt with 10g honey. Cup of tea cl & choccie digestive too.

S: chocolate caramel protein yoghurt pouch

D: 140g breaded cod bites, 1 plain cod fillet, 150g oven chips, tbsp sriracha sauce

S: 200g watermelon & 2 babybels

1871 calories & 141g protein. 3 litres of water & 13,700 steps so far.

Fell off the wagon slightly last night and scoffed two extra bits of cake before I went to bed. So an extra 260 on to yesterday's total 😑 Non fast day today B: Peach (well, nectarine) melba porridge - porridge with a chopped nectarine, raspberry coulis and 1tbs single cream L: MN massive salad with new potatoes and beetroot, with 2 breaded chicken bits and half a slice of black pudding (freezer clear out). Bowl of cherries, strawberries grapes. A: Tea and piece of cake D: West Country bake (veg and bacon in creamy sauce with crispy top), sweetcorn B: White hot choc + half piece of cake

1696 calories
2 x 1 hour walks, 15 mins weights
15,385 steps

B - nature valley nut bar
L - chicken pasta salad and wotsits
D - 2 slices of gammon, peas, carrots, runner beans, cauliflower cheese and gravy
S - chicken bites. Haven’t left the house so no steps from me. In bed with a lemsip and hoping to get better asap!

Snap all round @meagain3 I ate a bit of pizza yesterday and a can of coke so not great but in cals- also ill but sadly not in bed.

I was thinking last night that I might be trying to do too much at once, this is probably excuses but maybe that's why I've caved so easily!

I'm off all nicotine replacement now so focus is just trying not to eat all the sugar. I'll go back to proper tracking in time if I see no change from reducing the junk!

B: slice of homemade banana bread, strawberry protein yoghurt, low fat latte.

S: babybel & second coffee

L: Wholemeal pita with houmous, grated carrot & olives. 15g oats, 10g of chocolate whey & 30g 0% Greek yoghurt mixed together.

S2: 2 orange split ice pops.

D: 1 & 1/2 beef burritos with sour cream & cheddar cheese.

S3: chocolate almond protein bar

1 hr of weights at the gym, forgot to wear my watch for steps. 3L water.

Over calories with 2052, & under protein with 120g.

Hope you're on the mend @meagain3 I've started a course of antibiotics but not feeling any improvement yet.

Well done to those tracking, training and trying! @decafearlgrey your gym dedication is so impressive and @Katypp your steps!

I weighed today and am down half a lb, I'm surprised and not sure how accurate it is with how poorly I've been but we'll see. The hot weather is set to return next week, I never know what to eat!
