Wow - can't believe how many people are on this thread. How many have you got signed up now Yorkie?

Oh and were we supposed to send you starting weights last week, or just send them with first loss/gain/whatever this week? And are those of us who were here last year starting again from this years starting point and zero loss/gain so far, or carrying on from last year?

mammya · 18/01/2005 20:24

I haven't done really well so far, am dreading the scales... I have found a ww meeting I can attend, so might start going to that, it's tomorrow. I lost weight last year with ww but doing it online and after a couple of months just sort of, well, gave up really...

As for carrots I have a good recipe for those, it's called Interesting Carrots:

Peel carrots and cut on the bias in slices about 1cm thick. Heat a little oil in a heavy frying pan, tip in the carrots and sauté until they smell nice and start to colour. Stir occasionally. Then season with salt & pepper, garlic, ginger, etc (whatever you fancy really), moisten with stock, water, balsamic vinegar, white wine, passata, etc (again, it?s up to you) and cover. Cook on low heat for about 10 min.

It's yummy!

Evesmama · 18/01/2005 20:42

hi beth, how awful if they were still there, hope he's ok?has the place been secured again yet?

think its funny that s.w have cone all trendy and are calling sins 'syns' now
i lost quite a bit of weight with s.w but never stick to it to get to were i want to be.

have had a good day today though...got the munchies around 3 o clock and had 4 or 5 chedders with dairylea on with dd, but by 5pm i was still stuffed, so missed tea and had a bowl of cereal about an hour ago. pleased cos eating the chedders made me feel guilty, but now feel much better{smile]

Evesmama · 18/01/2005 21:10

hi marj, hoping this will be my year too, been fat for too long..have you had a good day?

Evesmama · 18/01/2005 21:12

twig...are you ok now???
i also couldnt find a thing to eat when doing a red day on s.w....used to eat crab sticks in s.w garlic sauce or prawn with jacket spud as he..erm thats about it needless to say, i generally stuck to green days

have just emailed you

Demented · 18/01/2005 21:30

Twiglett, you've gotta keep going. Especially if you are cutting down on the bfeeding (usually a crisis time for me weight wise). If it makes you feel any better I stuck to the diet rigidly last week and put on 2lbs too .

We could grit our teeth through this week together??? I'm sure it will be better next week. Definately write everything down too, always makes me think twice about eating something if I've to put it down in black and white!

marj · 18/01/2005 21:39

Hi Evesmama, did have a good day until a little while ago when I raided my left over Roses from Christmas. Not good but didnt eat as many as I would have normally, managed to stop after eating about 6 - good for me!! How about you - good or bad day?

Evesmama · 18/01/2005 21:48

good..only cos i gave my tin of roses to dp to take to work otherwise id have munched my way through them! am optimistic so far, hope i can stay this way!
got another day in the house tomorrow though as dd is full of cold poor little thing, but if i take her to doc(sore throat too), ill have to demagnetise myself from the choccy counter in morrisons

marj · 18/01/2005 21:56

I work part time and find it much more difficult to stick to the diet when I am at home with ds. Too much food in the cupboard to tempt me.
Hope dd is ok. STAY AWAY FROM THE CHOC COUNTER!!

have emailed you my loss, yorkiegirl - 1lb

I heroically gave away the last 2 boxes of christmas chocolates so am now reduced to eating healthier food.

Evesmama - I put on weight when full time at home, it must be a mixture of all that food nearby and not getting time to exercise properly.

marj · 19/01/2005 11:20

Morning everyone. hope a good day awaits. I have started well with a big bowl of shreddies and skimmed milk - yum! My weigh in isnt til saturday so still have a few days to go. Am hoping to have lost something as I havent been too bad. Have a healthy day!!

Looneymum · 19/01/2005 12:03

Dear YorkieGirl

Please can I join the losers - so to speak! I am following WeightWatchers but am trying to do it without going to the club. I need as much help as I can get. Of to Oasis in early March and need to be able to wear swimming cossie. My DD2 is now 5 months old so it's definitely time to try and shift that preggers flab! What do I do to join you...!

Evesmama · 19/01/2005 12:49

it was only a minor laspe

Evesmama · 19/01/2005 13:16

well, marj, i even went to the choccy counter to put lottery on and i didnt even flinch!!!

Looneymum · 19/01/2005 13:16

Thanks Evesmama - I have e-mailed my starting weight so there's no going back now! As I said, I am following WWs through the week followed by a "night off" on Saturday! I don't imagine WWs would approve but hopefully the thought of a few glasses of vino and a takeaway will keep me on the straight and narrow. Are you following something specific or just trying to cut back?
