Hi All, I'm still struggling along with WeightWatchers but tonight is blow out night! I find that if I have one night a week to look forward to then I seem to be able to keep on track.... Then again, the scales will probably show the chicken tikka masala and glass or two of vino collapso that I'm so looking forward to! What does everyone else do to keep themselves on the straight and narrow (or wide in my case)!?

marj · 22/01/2005 18:50

I tend to treat myself too. I will normally have something I really like once a week, like a take away or nice pud or chocolate. Those are my major food vices! It keeps me going most of the time, the problem I have is slipping back into my old eating habits and breaking all my hard work. I hope this time will be different as I have fellow mumsnetters for support!

helsi - thanks for the recipe I have printed it out ready to try next time the veg box arrives.

scaltygirl - if we include all weight lost in several years I could include 21lb after dd1 and 37lb after dd2 as well as the 17lb so far after dd3.

my friend who had 10 children tells people she lost 30 stone - 3 stone after each baby.

Fennel · 23/01/2005 14:34

oops - got that wrong scaltygirl. I thought you meant weight you'd lost since January 2001... sorry

marj · 23/01/2005 20:44

oops. Very bad. Have just eaten lots of chocolate and now feel sick and guilty. Oh well, have got until next saturday to be good again. I knew it wouldnt take long for me to fall off the wagon!! I will hope for a better day tomorrow. Should be ok as I have no more chocolate left!

Evesmama · 23/01/2005 20:49

I've been really really good all day - and then dh brought some chicken pakora grrrrrr!! (Don't think it is included in the 'You are what you eat' diet somehow..). Anyway, managed to only have one which was no mean feat. Will be good ALL day tomorrow!! Well done marj

marj · 23/01/2005 21:02

Thankyou! Half of its probably gone back on now with my chocolate binge.

Never mind, I will be good tomorrow!!

Evesmama · 23/01/2005 21:19

think im gonna start 'doing weigh in' on fridays..i know its cheating, but if i have an iffy weekend, i can then work it off through the week..although at the min, i am adamant not to have any more iffy weekends??????

Is Friday the normal weigh in day? Should I be sending me ever decreasing weight (hah!) to YorkieGirl? Sorry to sound such a thicky but I'm quite new to this...! The good news is I appear to have dropped a couple of pounds. Have had parents around for a few days and they never eat between meals, so I found myself nipping out of the room just to make sure I had my weightwatchers point allocation. Rich T's at half a point are a godsend (how sad is that)!

miam · 28/01/2005 13:52

Hey marj - you are to be commended for your determination to get back on track!! Slipping up is easy done (often unconsciously) but is only serious if you do not pull yourself back up again. That is the hardest part and you have done it. Well done!

Evesmama and Looneymum - Yorkiegirl needs you to mail her your weight by Friday tea-time then she usually posts the results Friday evening. Her email addy is mumsnetmamas at yahoo dot co dot uk. She says you can either just let her know what you have lost/gained or whatever or give your weight - it is up to you. I personally give my weight, cos by the next Friday can never remember what I was before!! Well done Looneymum on the pounds lost
