That is sooooo true about slimming classes making you gain weight! I must have joined every single one in the past. Still, here I am again doing Weightwatchers but at least I'm just doing it myself rather than have someone charge me £4.50 for a weigh-in. I have a sunny holiday on the horizon and hopefully that will keep me on the straight and narrow. The thought of showing all that chub can keep you away from the Kiplings cakes... well don't quote me on that as I don't have too good a track record....

WigWamBam · 20/01/2005 18:28

I used to love my Rosemary Conley classes, they have an exercise class as well as the weigh in, for about the same price as WW and SW. It was the exercise that made the difference for me ... shame I can't get to one now.

could be that when on detox you lost fat as well as fluid, if you had gone back to normal eating you would prob have gained a pound or so as is normal after a crash diet replacing fluid, but because you went onto another diet you did not regain fluid as lost further fat, so even though same weight you have lost fat iyswim and in a week or so it will start showing up on the scales

Evening everyone! Have had another reasonable day on my new healthy eating plan (not calling it a diet makes me feel a bit better.)

2 more days til my weigh in. Am hoping to have done ok but you know what its like, you think you have lost and then you dont and feel absolutely gutted! Suppose I will just have to wait and see.

Loobz · 21/01/2005 07:42

I'm with Yorkie on the class. I need to go and stay to class otherwise I'm terrible. I do go even when I've been bad although I don't always necessarily want to!!!
Have to say though that I'm not too into this clapping for everyone bit - feel my consultant overdoes it a bit.
I used to go to another class where I really liked the consultant but due to work commitments and the fact that I am still carless (son wrote car off in December and still waiting for things to be fixed out) I can't get to any of her classes at the moment. Maybe when I get car again - given up hope of ever getting work sorted!!!

Hi all, an I join?

Currently on the weightlossresources.co.uk programme with a 1275 calorie a day limit. I would like to weigh 9st, got 2st3 to lose.

My aim is to lose it by my birthday (28th April), so I have to really go for it - 2lbs a week (eeeeek!).

dejags · 21/01/2005 07:53

should say CAN I join - must learn to preview...

miam · 21/01/2005 08:04

Hi there dejags! Ofcourse you can join! Just mail your weight to Yorkiegirl at [email protected]. The latest time to send your losses in is teatime on Friday (I think) so today is a good day to start!! Off to work now but will look forward to speaking to you soon. x

bottle · 21/01/2005 08:23

i have lost 3 pounds down to 12.4, bit dissapointed as at one point in the week was 12.1, i have been floating around the 12 - 12.7 mark for about 9 months and feel will never get clear of the twelves but new week new start

pinksofa · 21/01/2005 08:30

just to let you all know i have changed my name - bottle (as was)

LunarSea · 21/01/2005 09:53

1.25lbs for me this this week. Not a lot but I'm not too unhappy with it, as it's following on from a total 14lbs in the previous 3 weeks (12lbs of which I'd somehow managed to gain in only 15 days during the runup to Christmas - and that's despite trying not to eat much and drinking water instead of wine!).

I think one of the hardest things about doing this is the realisation that it isn't going to be just for a few months, or even a year or so until I can hit a target, but for ever, given that I can gain it again so easily/quickly.

On a more positive note - 1.25 lbs this week means another milestone, over 5 and a half stones now. Suddenly losing another 22.75 lbs doesn't seem anywhere as impossible a target as 100lbs did last year.

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 10:11

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 10:11

and 5th day with out choccy today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 10:44

well done for losing so much Lunersea(did wonder wether your name was a calm, spiritual name or explaining ho mad you are

LunarSea · 21/01/2005 11:09

Moi? Mad - definately! Actually it was originally the name of a boat - as in the tides (Sea) being controlled by the moon (Lunar) - but I just liked the joke in that hardly anyone ever seems to notice the alternative interpretation when they see it written down.

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 11:20

is wwb about? wondered how you were doing?

WigWamBam · 21/01/2005 12:17

I'm here! Lost 7lb this week (nearly fell off the scales this morning in amazement!). Only another 10 stone to go ...

helsi · 21/01/2005 12:32

Did the spicy parsnip soup last night it was yummy. Didn't do the compostheap though. Did SW rissotto with prawns (from B choice) and a neutral SW cottage cheese quiche. Dh loved it so much he has seconds.

then dessert was summer fruits with natural yoghurt and canderell.

Tonight we are having salmon with chachouka. having remainder of quiche and salad for lunch today. Roll on tea time!!

Fennel · 21/01/2005 13:03

helsi - do you make spicy parsnip soup (or buy it)? I've been making it but would like a good recipe.

am really into root vegetables this winter - got pushed into it by a weekly veg box full of the stuff and now I really like them.

pinksofa · 21/01/2005 13:11

i am having a rocky day, already eaten a curry, porridge and 3 pittas, dried fruit and bit of cheese (not in that order), think i am worried about stuff, work got an awful exam next week, ds at nursery when got him yesterday he had been crying apparently because he was hoping that every parent that arrived pre me was either me or dh if that makes sense, and the house is in a complete mess and not sleeping very well... so i have got to pulll myself together but feel like eating -
