I know there are some old posts regarding fast800 but I was wondering if there's anyone else doing it currently, that would like to join forces and compare notes?

This came up on my feed today and after doing some reading, I've decided to start tomorrow. Anyone else?

I’m looking at starting this week!
I made an order of the shakes, due to arrive Tuesday so will start asap

how have you done on this plan?

I have about 3.5 stone id like to lose, but if this helps me lose 1 stone and then im back into more mindful eating and portions i would be happy initially as a kick start!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/03/2025 09:14

@AXCS I've never used the shakes, what are they like?

KrazyboutKillian · 09/03/2025 15:18

Currently on a break in Prague , which should be re named carb city !!
im looking forward to getting back to it properly in tue , onwards
how’s everyone doing ?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/03/2025 21:42

I had an ok day today, overall it's been a reasonable week but when I look at the week view on nutracheck I have been nowhere near to 800 calories at all this week! Most days 1200, then a couple of days where I struggled, means my average was around 1500 each day 🤦‍♀️ so double pretty much what I was aiming for.

It's still a deficit for me and hopefully will still get me a small weight loss but I did really want to do those initial 2 weeks properly, so I'm trying again this week.

RockStarMartini · 09/03/2025 21:59

@ZenNudist do you have a recipe for the curry you mentioned please? It sounds lovely!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/03/2025 08:28

-1lb for me this week. Current weight now 11.4.4
I would love to be under 11 stone by end of March! It's possible but will be difficult as I lose weight so slowly! But I am going to throw everything I have at it this week!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/03/2025 22:38

I had an ok day today, nowhere near 800 cals though! It's so hard! 1250 today, 67g carbs.

Clearingaspace · 10/03/2025 23:12

hi I have been lurking as I am contemplating doing this. I quite like that it is quite relaxed on here and it’s tempting me to give it a go but I would need to plan first.

@thenewaveragebear1983 i sometimes wonder if this might be a one and done diet. I lost a lot doing the blood sugar diet 10 years ago. I was evangelical, but the weight all came back and then some. After that I would buy all the new fast 800 books that came out but could never stick to it at all! It’s annoying as it worked amazingly. I think now I definitely wouldn’t want to do 12 weeks at 800 as worried about hair loss, but maybe a 5:2 version. I saw a tip to do 3 days 800 cal very low carb first; this can make it easier to then stick to 800-1000 with slightly more carbs. Maybe I will aim for that wed - Fri this week 🤞

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/03/2025 06:17

@Clearingaspace I think I agree with you, I also did bsd really successfully but have never really managed to get back in the zone. My life is a lot busier now, and I exercise much more, and I am older- I think these things all contribute. However, I do like the food and the way of eating, and I suppose aiming for 800-1000 means I am managing to stay well within my calories even at 1200-1300 (my target is 1500 to lose 1lb a week) so it is helping in that sense. But the dramatic first weeks weight losses haven't really happened for me 🤷‍♀️ 5:2 could possibly work though.

AXCS · 11/03/2025 18:33

My shakes came today so I’m planning on starting tomorrow.
I’ve got a couple of shake flavours, and the keto coffee and keto hot choc.
hoping to then have a low cal small meal too a day!
need to get this snacking under control!

Clearingaspace · 11/03/2025 21:53

Good luck @AXCS I am hoping to start tomorrow too.

I think your plan is what I am going to aim for @thenewaveragebear1983 and then hopefully some of the days will be 800 so kind of a natural 5:2!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/03/2025 22:26

I had a disastrous day today, I've eaten loads of chocolate and pudding 🤦‍♀️

Clearingaspace · 11/03/2025 23:57

@thenewaveragebear1983 I have done the classic eat all the carbs and start tomorrow game today. Eaten way more than usual - so frustrating!

maybe we could all post tomorrow through the day to keep on track!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/03/2025 06:33

@Clearingaspace definitely! I think it was a combination of office, tiredness and hormones for me. And not drinking enough water.

My plan today is to fast as long as I can, probably skipping breakfast altogether. I'll have a salad with tuna for lunch. Dinner will be the same lentil cottage pie I had yesterday, which is fairly high carb. I need to drink more water throughout the day. Will try not to snack at all but I do have a protein yoghurt and some berries. The key for me really is just being "in the zone" and not wandering into the kitchen when I get bored at work! 🤞

Good luck everyone.

random9876 · 12/03/2025 07:32

Can I join? I‘ve just got a mini Fast 800 to do - I did it last week and lost quite a bit but slightly threw myself by drinking with friends two nights ago. I now just want to do another week or two, then onto 6 1 to maintain. My favourite things for staying not starving are cauliflower rice, eggs, any chicken, black coffee. I‘ve had a terrible few weeks as made redundant but I might as well look slim in job interviews! Good luck all

KrazyboutKillian · 12/03/2025 08:06

Morning everyone !
I lost the 2 , I gained during my weekend away , and back on it
I tend to only have a cup of tea in the morning , veg based soup or salad at lunch with a little protien and a heavier protien veg meal in the evening , and to drink as much water as possible.
hoping to drop some this week as I have been 2 on / 2 off in the same 2lb and want to break this into a downwards move

Clearingaspace · 12/03/2025 13:36

I am reversing the trend as had already eaten half my calories by 9:00 am! On track though with carbs etc.

welcome @random9876 great to be using this situation as a chance to get healthy.

hope you get some more weight going in a downwards trend @KrazyboutKillian - maintaining is so important but is so motivating to see new weightloss in the scale.

your plan sounds great @thenewaveragebear1983 i hope your day is going well and you are in the zone - I love that feeling when healthy eating is going well.

I forgot to weighin this am, so no idea what my carb chaos did yesterday, but will be happy with anything lower than last week.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/03/2025 13:57

I did run this morning and did nearly 5 miles so I think all my carbs yesterday paid off!
I weighed this morning and it's very annoying, I am still very much in that water weight phase where one day off plan I regain all weight I have lost, I was back up a few pounds today.

I ordered some 'itz not' pasta- it's basically like konjac noodles, they are high fibre, low cal. Very expensive. 200g is 46 cal though, so a good replacement for pasta. However, they do have a weird 'bite' to them, kind of like an undercooked mushroom rather than pasta. You need lots of sauce and seasoning. I had them instead of my salad, with mushrooms, bacon, garlic soft cheese and grated cheese on top. (Needed a bit of a refuel after my run) - I'd say they were ok, but not amazing.

Clearingaspace · 12/03/2025 14:44

Well done on your run @thenewaveragebear1983

i need to close the kitchen now as I am almost at 900 cal. I had 2 eggs, a little yogurt and almond butter for breakfast, a latte while on a break/walk now just had stir fry veg, seafood and chicken as late lunch. Carbs are 35 so happy with that

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/03/2025 18:34

Do you find this plan can mess up your cycle a bit? I have come on today 5 days early which is very unlike me. And also does explain why the last few days I've been an unstoppable carb fiend!

Clearingaspace · 12/03/2025 22:13

@thenewaveragebear1983 fasting definitely affects my cycle but I am perimenopausal so it is always out of sync nowadays. Hopefully it will settle down - apparently oestrogen is stored in our fat cells so it can be released when losing weight and screw things up a bit.

hope everyone did ok today. I have had a couple of hot drinks so imagine I am firmly in the 900s

VenusInfers · 13/03/2025 09:22

Hello all
I did this diet v successfully a couple of years ago, ( waves to @thenewaveragebear1983 ) but recent stresses led to too much booze and toast and I need to lose about 5kg. Look forward to getting to know you all and sharing some support and recipes over the next few weeks.

I weighed in & did day one yesterday.
SW: 67.9kg
GW: 63kg

I do a lot of exercise, so know that THAT is going to be much harder for a while. Oh well, I have a 2l bottle of fizzy water, a box of eggs and lots of salad- weight loss here I come! 🤣

thenewaveragebear1983 · 13/03/2025 15:53

@VenusInfers hi 👋

I have had a much better day today, hormones are so powerful aren't they? I find as I am getting older I get less pmt in terms of emotional upheaval but about 3-4 days before my period I get disturbed sleep, and the most uncontrollable food urges, I am like a possessed animal.

Clearingaspace · 13/03/2025 20:51

Welcome @VenusInfers well done getting day one ticked off!

@thenewaveragebear1983 hormones definitely seem to put us at a disadvantage- it definitely seems as though peri has made me gain a whole chunk of weight. Glad you had a better day.

i was doing well earlier and probably could have stopped after lunch, but decided to have dinner and thibk that was a mistake. think about 1000 cals - eggs, skyr and berries, latte, chicken and veg in broth, salmon and stir fry veg.

HallStairsandLanding · 13/03/2025 21:22

I've been lurking on here for a while but will join you if I may.

I started Fast800 on Monday and it's going well so far but not sure how the weekend is going to work.

I've been finding it easier having a 4 hour eating window of 4pm to 8pm which is fine when DC are at school and DH is at work.

Any hints and tips for managing TRE whilst about and about and doing family stuff (and hopefully not giving up a glass of wine) would be appreciated.

I've done 5:2 in the past and did think about just being careful on the weekend but it then feels a bit like inventing my own diet (which from experience never works!)
