I know there are some old posts regarding fast800 but I was wondering if there's anyone else doing it currently, that would like to join forces and compare notes?

This came up on my feed today and after doing some reading, I've decided to start tomorrow. Anyone else?

I had another good day, ending up on 900 cals and 54g carbs, but I'm really tired and looking forward to a hot bath and bed!

My meals were a big crab salad with thousands island dressing, a protein yogurt and dinner was pork steak, Broccoli and mushrooms which I cooked in garlic and herb Boursin, and a sugar free jelly.

That sounds delicious!

I've just made the baked oats for a quick breakfast tomorrow. I hope it's nice!

@HollyPollyMolly I love baked oats, they freeze really well too so I make a massive batch and portion it up

KrazyboutKillian · 27/02/2025 08:08

Another lb down since mon , total 2 ,
haven’t been 100% on this plan , but aiming for no obvious carbs , or rice pasta etc

i tend to weigh daily and after it creeping up over the last year , very motivated to see it nudge down

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/02/2025 10:11

@KrazyboutKillian that's great. I weighed on Tuesday and was down 2, but haven't weighed since. I will do tomorrow.

I have had a busy morning, went to 6.30 circuits then had to completely empty my kitchen as we have plasterers in doing our ceilings, then took the dog to kennels for a few days. Now massively regretting not having breakfast and the guys are in there so I don't want to disturb them! Great for the diet though probably!

Tonight my dinner will be chicken leg quarters cooked in mustard and cream cheese sauce, I'm really looking forward to that one! I had forgotten just how amazing food tastes on fast800, I can certainly feel my metabolism ramping up a bit, head is clear and i feel energetic. I didn't fall
Asleep on the sofa last night which is very unlike me.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/02/2025 20:07

The cravings started hitting hard tonight, I really felt like i could just eat and eat and eat. It's been such a busy day as well and dh has got himself a red wine and a bag of galaxy minstrels!

I had a Greek yogurt and blueberries which has taken me over my calories but still well within my actual daily calories so all good.

KrazyboutKillian · 27/02/2025 20:48

Zumba done !
chicken and veg for tea , bit boring but easy . Swopping Zumba for Pilates soon as it feels like a lot of arm waving and shimmying so prob not a true cardio workout anyway

made stewed rubarb and Greek yogurt for part of
lunch along with a salmon salad

feel as if I’m getting into it

KrazyboutKillian · 27/02/2025 20:49

@thenewaveragebear1983
stay strong !

HollyPollyMolly · 28/02/2025 07:23

Talk to me about daily weighing please. Do you then look for the trend at the end of the week?

I've just weighed myself today after 5 days of fast 800 and the scales haven't moved an inch, I'm very disheartened considering my maintenance calories are around the 1700 mark.

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/02/2025 07:54

@HollyPollyMolly in the original blood sugar diet / fast800 books, Michael mosely always advised weighing daily/alternate days, because of how motivating it is to see the scales dropping. I don't like weighing daily, I retain a lot of water and some mornings I'll be 4lbs up for no reason. I just weighed after 4 days fast800 and I am down around 2.5-3 lbs this week, down to 159lbs. I don't do a daily average although there are apps you can use for that. I just "check in" and give my official Monday weight as my actual weigh in each week.

KrazyboutKillian · 28/02/2025 07:58

I daily weigh because I can see a trend , even if sometimes I have a little blip upwards ,
a few things to check
are you drinking enough water ?
are you weighing portions or guessing
( I was very surprised at wahat 100g of Greek yoghurt actually is in the pot , rather than what I thought it was , but I’ve been stricter now with that
you may suddenly get a swoosh down in the scales , I don’t know the science but sometimes that happens
you can do this ,

KrazyboutKillian · 01/03/2025 14:19

Total 4 down !
but weekends are harder, how’s everyone doing ?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/03/2025 19:38

@KrazyboutKillian trickier day for me as we were out in London today. We went to a 'lounge' for lunch. Their menu is nice, I had a Buddha bowl which was very wholesome but did have a big scoop of grains and a few other bits although I didn't eat the flatbread. In the theatre I then had some chocolate, and we've just grabbed an M&S meal deal for the train- I got a naked chicken kebab salad (highly recommend and fast800 friendly) but I also had a Brownie. Hack on it tomorrow though.

I have really enjoyed this week, I have felt really in control and despite the last few days being off track a bit, I am still ending the week firmly in a deficit, I have not eaten my exercise calories and have been under my calorie allowance every day. Next week I have nothing to get in my way so I'm hopefully going to have an even better week next week. If I end this week 2lbs down I'll be really pleased. I am determined to see a good loss in March and hopefully this could be my strategy. I have been hungry but it's actually been quite nice in a weird way, I've enjoyed my food and Been very honest with myself and weighed everything. It's quite liberating to feel like I can say no to things. The biggest thing I need to work on this week is drinking more, I'm feeling quite thirsty and today all I've had is a coffee and one cup of tea.

KrazyboutKillian · 02/03/2025 13:33

Lunch , Stir fry chicken , loads veg , the sauce probably wasn’t great diet wise but
protien ☑️ veg ☑️

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/03/2025 09:51

2lbs off for me this week, I am pleased with that. This week ahead is looking promising, no socials or things to derail me. My shopping is coming later today.

I need to ensure I drink enough this week, I have not managed it every day this week. When I look at my nutracheck I have had around 1000 average a day, maybe even 1100, and have kept the carbs low, so I will really strive to get down to 800 if possible, but 1100 is still pretty low for me- and feels manageable which is most of the battle isn't it.

KrazyboutKillian · 03/03/2025 20:36

3lb off this week !
pleased with that

where is everyone on this thread ? How are you all doing ?

SpanielLarusso · 04/03/2025 16:16

Can I join you all? I'm just on day two, going ok so far but will need a serious boost of willpower to keep it up! I'm tracking everything on my fitness pal and I'll probably carry on weighing at weekends as normal

Jabtastic · 04/03/2025 16:20

I hope I can join a little late. I'm trying to get some inspiration!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/03/2025 20:24

I spent the day thinking about pancakes but when it actually came to it I didn't have one, it would have been 250+ cals and realistically I would have wanted more than one. So I decided not to put temptation in my way. I still ended up over today, I had a bit of a graze at the fridge after work, I was just so hungry. Pretty much all fast800 friendly except a small coconut cornflake biscuit. But it has still taken me up to 1200 today, 65g carbs. Could have been a lot lot worse.

Tomorrow, it's my morning run day before work. My meals are all planned - big salad for lunch, boiled egg for snack, and dinner is a Moroccan meatball dish with cauliflower couscous.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/03/2025 20:36

How's everyone doing?

I've found today really hard. Not sure if it's hormones or tiredness or just my body rebelling against being starved! But today I could have just eaten all day. I have managed to resist going totally overboard but I am ending the day on 1390 cals and 120g carbs so not at all fast800! But hey.

I need to plan very carefully for tomorrow. I am at the gym first thing for a 7am class, then walk the dog, then working. I didn't plan well today which probably contributed so I'm going to sit and work out my plan very carefully for tomorrow.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/03/2025 06:54

Little 1/2 pound loss today at my mid week weigh in. Not too bad, considering I have had a bit more than 800 every day this week! Going to really push for 800 max every day now til official weigh day on Monday.

PrincessOfPreschool · 06/03/2025 07:03

I did it in the summer. I found the meals very tasty especially the recipes from 'the blood sugar diet' book. My favourite/ most frequent is a mackerel and spinach omelette which was a quick lunch. There was also a sausage lasagne and a chilli, very nice. I didn't use any shakes, just 2 decent meals.

Weighing every day or every other is important as weight can fluctuate when initial weight loss settles down. Then it can be discouraging if you think you've put on weight not actually the next day you'll be back down again.

KrazyboutKillian · 06/03/2025 08:13

im a daily weigher , and I jumped up 2lb on Monday , no rhyme or reason , but today those 2 have gone
I’m having fish / steak / decent protein for meals and lots of different t vegs , I’m really busy this week so it’s easy , even though this is fast 800 I dont actually count cals yet as I have a fair bit to
lose , but
no bread ( bye bye morning toast )

I did a Pilates class on tue , hips feel much looser

have a good day everyone

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/03/2025 06:35

I went a bit off the rails yesterday! Ended up eating loads of chocolate and a cookie! 🤦‍♀️

I think it's that I'm ovulating, at my age now I get 2 lots of "pmt" each month, once when I'm ovulating and once when I'm due on! But I am determined to rein it back in today. My calories have been well under all week so I will still have a good deficit by Mondays weigh in as long as I get back on the plan asap.

Today I plan to walk the dog, and then my breakfast/brunch will be eggs and mushrooms. Dinner tonight is steak, it's a huge piece which is most of my remaining calories so I might cut it in half. I'm having that with salad, a small amount of dressing and mushrooms. I would like to go for a run today, probably at lunchtime. I'm really noticing the lack of carbs when running, so I'm just going easy and not pushing myself too hard.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/03/2025 08:11

Well, contrary to my post yesterday I did not rein it in! To be fair to me, I did track everything, but I did also succumb to temptation and I had such strong sugar cravings that in the end I had some chocolate. Ended up using max calories. Although I did go for a run, I ate back those calories as well 🤣

I'm determined not to derail my whole weekend so will be back on it today. I feel a bit less hormonal anyway today. Breakfast/brunch will be egg, cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes. I have the gym at 1 so will probably just have soup mid afternoon if I want something, and dinner is sausages - I'll have mine with lots of green veg.

One thing I am going to do this week is bulk my food out a bit with lots of veggies. I don't really eat enough cooked veg and so I am really noticing just not feeling very full, so I will try to increase that this week.
