Currently 12 stone 7 pounds and 5ft. Would love to lose 7 pounds for Christmas. Would anyone like to join me? I usually check my weight at home on my scales on a Saturday morning. I am calorie counting using Nutracheck and try to exercise frequently.

Hi, I actually started on Monday.

Start weight 12st 4 and I look very over weight.

I am just really cutting down on the amount of mindless eating that I do day in and day out.

Happy to join you.

Anotherfrozenpizzafortea · 06/11/2024 08:48

I'm in. Would love to lose a stone but 7lb would mean my clothes will be less uncomfortable and I can zip up the party frock I couldn't fit in last Christmas.

For me it's snacking and shit dinners around kids' activities

LadyofRutshire · 06/11/2024 09:33

Morning welcome both

@DirtyDensDog and @Anotherfrozenpizzafortea snacking is a thing for me also, so easy to grab a biscuit or crisps. Especially in the cold dark nights.

I would! I'm 5ft2 and currently weigh 13 stone 3lbs. Weigh ins every Monday.

7lbs off would be good. Feeling overwhelmed at how much I need to lose.

Today I've had a roll and sausage but I'm going for a long walk soon 😆

Fisharenotfoods · 06/11/2024 09:45

Yes I need some motivation to loose weight! Is the plan to weigh in on a certain day?

LadyofRutshire · 06/11/2024 09:55

Morning and welcome @Fisharenotfoods and @Claloulat

Weigh in on any day that suits you best. I've picked a Saturday morning to try and keep me straight on a Friday night.

I totally get the sense of being overwhelmed with the amount, I am saying to myself, just get through today and keep busy at night. A roll on sausage sounds amazing. Enjoy your walk.

My weigh day is going to be on a Monday, I started this Monday.

There was an embarrassing amount of dust on my scales, I've not braved them for a while.

DirtyDensDog · 08/11/2024 08:52

Morning @LadyofRutshire
How are you getting on ?

LadyofRutshire · 08/11/2024 10:50

Morning, getting on ok, I think. Managed to squeeze in a few walks, filling up on fruit and veg. Dh brought out a share bag of crisps last night and I had my fair share of them. Why are crisps so hard to resist?

How are you getting on?

I cracked and weighed myself today. I've lost 2 pounds 😱

Goal 7 pounds
Lost 2 pounds
5 pounds till target

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/11/2024 13:30

As of last week I have 7lbs to my target. I weigh in tomorrow but it has been very much up and down so not sure but definitely want to join please!

LadyofRutshire · 08/11/2024 13:40

Welcome, how exciting for you to be so close to your final target. Good luck for tomorrow. Have you found things easy to lose each week? 7 pounds is my target for Christmas, will still have 2 stone to go after that at least.

Do you have any tips you could share with us? Any words of wisdom Grin

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/11/2024 14:26

Thank you. Perseverance is the key. Tbh I’ve lowered my target as it was too high by 7lbs. I got within a stone then for months it’s been on an off my a couple of pounds.

Villagetoraiseachild · 08/11/2024 14:39

Joining. Started first of Nov. Sensible eating.
So using fry light/ Lidl fry light, not lashings of butter. Swerving snacks/ cakes/ crisps. Aiming for beany/ squash soups when it gets colder.
Feel less paunchy already.
Am over the healthy bmi thing, so looking to drop a stone for starters.

LadyofRutshire · 08/11/2024 15:34

Hello and welcome @Villagetoraiseachild

oh I love soup going to make pea and ham soup this weekend, also thinking about making the old school cake with icing and sprinkles but that might not be a good idea 🤣

@teaandtoastwithmarmite sounds frustrating but your right perseverance is key.

That's amazing! You must be pleased. I hope I've lost when I weigh on Monday.

Crisps are definitely addictive! We're having a Chinese tonight. Luckily they have a lower calorie section of the menu. 415 calories for a chicken curry and rice in one container. Will be ideal as long as I avoid the side dishes!!

LadyofRutshire · 08/11/2024 17:56

I am really pleased with it, but still totally shocked. I thought maybe a pound at best. Will keep my fingers crossed for you for Monday.

They really are addictive. I didn't buy any in this weeks delivery unfortunately I didn't get away with it and dh and dd noticed and bought some. Skips and hula hoops so not that high in calories.

415 calories is great, Chinese sounds amazing, enjoy. I think maybe prawn crackers are low calories not sure of other sides except chips.

How's everyone getting on?

Weekend has went quickly for me. Last night for dinner was a takeaway 😋 chips, cheese and kebab. Tonight's dinner was roast chicken with baby potatoes and veg, I only had one Yorkshire pudding.

Breakfast this morning was melon. Went out and done a hours walk this afternoon.

Having a couple of G&Ts tonight.

Me!! determined this time. Have decided to eat a very early supper and go to bed earlier so no late evening snacking.

whydoihavetowork · 10/11/2024 20:07

Tentatively joins...

LadyofRutshire · 10/11/2024 20:35

Hi and welcome @whydoihavetowork

@Volumedelachanel I hear you on the snacks. Crisps are my thing I've swapped for crunchy things like carrot sticks, pickled onions and gherkin. Would something like that work?

OP posts:
teaandtoastwithmarmite · 10/11/2024 20:38

Had weigh in Saturday morning. Had nothing in for tea Friday and had to go out so we ended up having a bloody chip supper 🤦🏻‍♀️. I had a shish box so not too bad but so much food. 1lb on

LadyofRutshire · 10/11/2024 20:50

I think we all deserve a weekend takeaway. Its not good to cut everything out, that's when you go back to eating normally the weight goes back on. Slow and steady wins the race and there's no point in being miserable or you won't stick it.

The pound will probably come off this week.

OP posts:
teaandtoastwithmarmite · 10/11/2024 22:36

Well yes and thank you for being kind but not a good idea to do it the night before weigh in. And we had papa johns pizza last night 🫣

Bigbiggirlinabigbigworld · 10/11/2024 22:38

Ooo yes please! Hopefully it'll hold me accountable.
