Currently 12 stone 7 pounds and 5ft. Would love to lose 7 pounds for Christmas. Would anyone like to join me? I usually check my weight at home on my scales on a Saturday morning. I am calorie counting using Nutracheck and try to exercise frequently.

Hi and welcome @whydoihavetowork

@Volumedelachanel I hear you on the snacks. Crisps are my thing I've swapped for crunchy things like carrot sticks, pickled onions and gherkin. Would something like that work?

Thanks Lady. I do need to up my fruit and veg which really doesn't appeal come the winter 😅

my pitfalls are portion control and too much carb. also have pcos which makes weight loss harder.

I have been on a diet of sorts the last 2 weeks, only lost a few pounds. but I start to feel light headed when i cut down on the amount I eat. don't know what the solution to that is though. Anyone dealt with similar?

LadyofRutshire · 11/11/2024 16:44

@teaandtoastwithmarmite yeah, I would draw a line under it and start again Grin you have got me wanting pizza/fish and chips now 🤣

@Bigbiggirlinabigbigworld hello and welcome. Not long to go until Christmas now, when we will all be a few pounds lighter 🤞

@Volumedelachanel yeah in the dark cold nights you just want cosy snacks. I had some leftover mashed carrots with gravy last night it was lush. Sorry to read about your pcos 😪 carbs are definitely crack! So addictive. I've reduced carbs and portion sizes, still eating what I normally would just smaller on the high calories stuff (my one Yorkshire pudding last night rather than the 3 or 4 I would normally have) and I've been increasing the amount of veg we have with dinner to help fill me up and for all the healthy nutrition.

Well done on losing a few pounds. Not sure about the light headed thing. Are you drinking/eating enough for your body? Might be worth seeing your gp to get blood pressure/blood sugar checked.

Hi I'll join please. I have done slimming world previously and lost a stone and a half but have put half a stone back on!
My problem is boredom eating. I would like to lose 7lb before Christmas as a minimum, but need to find some will power.
I have 2 stone to lose in total to be at my target weight.

LadyofRutshire · 12/11/2024 12:40

Welcome @Ek1234 we'll done that's a great achievement with slimming world. It's so easy to slip back to old ways and the return of the pounds. Is it at night you find the boredom eating? Could you try something like a crossword or filing your nails etc. Things that keep you busy.

Feeling a little bit nervous about weighing in tomorrow. This week hasn't really went to plan. Not managed to do much exercise except two walks, don't think I've been drinking enough and my food choices have been all over the place.

I weighed this evening and had jeans on 🫣. 1.5 pounds on but I’ve been out for food twice this week and pizza on Saturday so it’s my own fault.

@LadyofRutshire most of my boredom eating is in work. Especially at this time of year when there are tons of biscuits and chocolate it's so easy to just keep getting one or two.
At night I'm ok, I have a 17 month old daughter who keeps me busy and I don't buy anything snack wise to have in the house so there's no temptation.
I weighed in this morning and have lost 1lb so feeling ok about that, wish it was a bit more but it's a start.

LadyofRutshire · 16/11/2024 15:25

A warm welcome to you @MiddleAgedButterfly how does 5:2 work?

@Ek1234 well done on losing a pound. Google what a pound looks like it's big! I get you with the office snacks. When I worked in a office, we changed it so no snacks until Friday. Friday was known as treat day.

@teaandtoastwithmarmite sorry to read about your gain. Did you try again without the jeans?

I've put 1 pound on this week. Plan for this week is to meal plan/prep and get to bed early at night's, I had a lot of late nights this week.

I'm in. 12 stone almost and aiming for a three stone loss in seven months

LadyofRutshire · 16/11/2024 15:33

Hi and welcome @Coffeewithkids what's your plan to lose weight?

OP posts:
Coffeewithkids · 16/11/2024 15:35

Thank you! I'm writing on my my fitness app what I'm eating and trying to do 15 min exercise each day

LadyofRutshire · 16/11/2024 15:48

I like the sound of 15 minutes exercise a day. I do like Joe Wicks YouTube videos as he does short ones with a count down.

That sounds good! I did fit by Mik today. What day is weigh-in?

LadyofRutshire · 16/11/2024 16:40

Any day you like. We are all on different days then just post the results here. Will post my tesco order/meal plan on here for a critique once I've done it. Need a head wobble to get back into it this week.

Hello - hope it's ok if I join you. Need to pull myself together after successfully losing 1 stone earlier this year I've gradually crept back up through stress/comfort eating/bad habits eg crisps on the train home, having both an early tea with kids and a late one with DH! BlushGrin. I'm in for losing 7lbs, will be doing through calorie counting on an app!

LadyofRutshire · 16/11/2024 20:54

Welcome @pippitypoppitypoo Grin
Well done on your past loss, its so easy for it to sneak back on. Especially when life is busy/stressful.

Has not been a great week. Feel heaveier than ever. I do use food for comfort and do a lot boredom eating, so will address those or try to anyway!

LadyofRutshire · 17/11/2024 18:55

Hope you are ok, little steps at a time Flowers

Nice work on the walk! WFH day today - I did succumb to snacking but nothing like I've been doing in recent weeks! Cake day at work tomorrow - prayers needed! 😬Cake

Ek1234 · 19/11/2024 11:21

Hi everyone, I've not had the best weekend food wise, I've ate and drank more than I should have done. I'm not re weighing myself until Friday, hopefully I can make up the damage from the weekend and still lose.
Plan for this week, no snacking, 10,000 steps per day and stick to my planned meals. So far so good, I've got my lunch pre made and have planned my dinner tonight so I feel on plan. How is everyone else doing?

LadyofRutshire · 19/11/2024 12:24

@pippitypoppitypoo sending you strength.

@Ek1234 sounds like a good plan for this week. How do you get steps in each day? I wfh and struggle with steps.

OP posts:
Ek1234 · 19/11/2024 16:27

@LadyofRutshire it is a struggle sometimes, my job is clinic based so I do spend a lot of time at the desk. I park further away from work so I have a short 5-10 minute walk before and after work to the car. I also spend lots of time running around after my dc, and doing bits of house work after I finish work in the evenings. We also have 2 dogs that need walking so once the baby is settled in bed one of us takes the dogs out for a walk which is the last thing I fancy doing after 10 hours in work and sorting out a toddler but needs must! So I usually manage to get my 10,000 in without too much effort, but feel better if I can clock up a few more.
