Anyone want to join me in losing 7 pounds for Christmas ✨️🎄🎅

LadyofRutshire · 05/11/2024 19:20

Currently 12 stone 7 pounds and 5ft. Would love to lose 7 pounds for Christmas. Would anyone like to join me? I usually check my weight at home on my scales on a Saturday morning. I am calorie counting using Nutracheck and try to exercise frequently.

Two pounds is fab! Well done @Coffeewithkids

I've lost one pound this week. Happy with that because this weight is stubborn to shift.

How's everyone else getting on? Apologies for some reason my tag option isn't working 😕

Joining you all a bit late so I don’t think 7lb is doable for me but if I could lose 4lb I’d be thrilled (& only 7lb off my target weight for May!).

CW: 9st 7lb
TW by Xmas: 9lb 3lb

Plan is to stick to 1 normal & 1 smaller meal a day. Limit naughty stuff like crisps. Not to drink any of my calories- easy at home as I love 0cal fruit teas. Would be good if I stopped eating late at night too. I don’t calorie count as I find it overwhelming &I start to obsess.

As I weighed myself today I’ll make Mondays my weigh-in day

Edited

Not exactly on track 🤦🏻‍♀️

ST: 9st 7lb
CW: 9st 6.4lb (Monday)
TW by Xmas: 9st 3lb

To be fair, I might be carrying some water weight as I started my period this week. Going to stick more religiously to my plan - 1 main meal, 1 lighter meal a day. Every other evening this week I’ve been doing my teeth whitening trays from about 8:30pm so that’s been stopping me snacking at night.

Feeling hormonal and emotional atm so trying REALLY hard not to raid the chocolates.

LadyofRutshire · 12/12/2024 15:30

Hope you are ok happy Flowers it is a bit of a tricky time of year for it. Joe Wicks put out a good tweet yesterday basically saying relax, enjoy but don't go mad and keep exercising. Going to try and keep this in mind. I've not bought any Christmas treats etc yet but I have had some Christmas cake and wine a few nights. Noticed that and pulled it back to water with lime and a side salad or fruit bowl. I am really lucky that I love fruit/veg and salad just wish I didn't love all the other stuff so much too Grin

Also just to add in January my aim will be to lose 2 or 3 pounds in that month. My middle aged/peri menopause body is a tough cookie. On reflection 7 pounds before Christmas was a hard task.

My body shape has changed a little bit though. Still not figured out what to wear at Christmas because I know trying on clothes will make me sad and cry. Will definitely be dodging the camera over Christmas time.

I lost a flukey 4 pounds on my first week, then it was period week so haven't weighted yet. If I can maintain the 4 pounds before Xmas I'll be happy. I also don't count calories. Cutting out the snacks and cutting down on the sweet treats and limiting alcohol to a few days over Christmas.

LadyofRutshire · 12/12/2024 16:17

4 pounds is amazing figgy. Sounds like you are on the right sensible path.

Yes well done, inspiring! We can do this. Im imagining a nice outfit that I'll buy in Jan. x

happytobemrsg · 12/12/2024 19:01

Thank you @LadyofRutshire Im currently on mat leave after baby #3. He’s 6m & I’m still carrying more weight than I want. Tomorrow is my work Christmas party & I’m feeling very anxious about it. Wish I was closer to my goal weight but I’m about 10lb short. Plus I’m on my period now so I’ve got added bloat. Not looking forward to it at all 😔

LadyofRutshire · 12/12/2024 20:42

Aww happy (tag still not working) congratulations on your little bundle of joy. I hope you have a good time at your Christmas bash tomorrow night. From now until then cut out fizzy juice, salt, snacks, carbs. Then body brush, exercise and sleep if you can manage them.

@LadyofRutshire MIL is over tomorrow so I can have a bit of a pamper. Hair already washed as I’ll be crimping it (big fan of hair wavers!). Teeth whitening tonight. Will leave enough time to do makeup properly etc.

LadyofRutshire · 12/12/2024 20:57

Sounds fab! Love a pamper night. That's lovely your mil is coming over and you have time to relax and get organised.

@LadyofRutshire My MIL is amazing. She comes over a couple of times a week to help with housework & the DCs. She’s a godsend!

LadyofRutshire · 12/12/2024 21:03

Aww that's so kind of her. In true mumsnet style I went nc with mine years ago because she was a nightmare. My daughter in law says I am a great mil so that's good Grin

Haha @LadyofRutshire it can very easily go either way!!

Loseitor · 20/12/2024 17:18

How’s it going everyone? I am losing/gaining the same couple of pounds atm! Not too surprising as I have had quite a few cakes and some chocolate!

I think this week ahead will be full of savoury snacks and I’m ok with that. I’m not being too strict - I’d be happy to maintain at the lower end of my current weight range and finish off the year at 10 stone 5 then really go hard in January.

Although I’m still overweight and not at my target weight this is the lightest I’ve been since 2018! I ended last year a stone heavier.

LadyofRutshire · 20/12/2024 19:38

Hi, I am the same either up or down by a pound or maintaining. Will try and maintain over Christmas and New Year then get back into it in January. I've not counted calories for a little while now and my exercise has reduced. Still plodding away and cutting back on calories where I can and getting out walking when I can.

It's just madness the now trying to fit everything in. For some reason I decided not to do a turkey dinner this year but make a buffet with everything homemade. Going to wrap the last of my presents tonight, hopefully get out a long walk tomorrow and Sunday will be spent in Tesco doing the Christmas shop. I need to finalise my buffet list also.

Hope everyone is getting on ok

Edited to add - Total loss for 2024 is 10 pounds. Not sure about inches but my clothes are definitely sitting better on me.

happytobemrsg · 22/12/2024 11:41

One good thing is my denim skirts seem to fit better than they did a month ago go so something is definitely happening.

My downfall has been snacking in evenings again. Such a bad habit. Will try & be really good today, tomorrow & Tuesday in the hope that it offsets Christmas food.

Well done! I'm a bit scared to get on the scales. I am also thinking of a longer term weight loss. A stone by end of Feb?

I’m also trying to focus on longer term. I go back to work after maternity leave at the end of May. I want to be at my goal weight then so I can buy new clothes & feel good. My ultimate goal is losing another 9.5lb from today. It’s tight!

Loseitor · 26/12/2024 23:41

Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas. After the last couple of weeks I’m kinda done with the sweet stuff and over-eating so I’m getting back on track . I often get to this point after a period of feasting where I’ve just had enough and I stop craving all the food! although today I did eat most of the shortbread I’d baked 🤭

I think I’ll end 2024 maintaining at 10st 5 which means I’ve lost just over a stone this year.

I've booked a little European break for early March so my next goal is to lose 10 pounds by then. My diet and portion size is ok overall so I’m now focusing on reducing UPF and refined sugar in my diet starting January 2nd which is also when go back to work.

Well done! Should we create a new thread for weight loss post Xmas or just continue with this one? Merry Christmas everyone
