Anyone want to join me in losing 7 pounds for Christmas ✨️🎄🎅

Currently 12 stone 7 pounds and 5ft. Would love to lose 7 pounds for Christmas. Would anyone like to join me? I usually check my weight at home on my scales on a Saturday morning. I am calorie counting using Nutracheck and try to exercise frequently.

I was exhausted just reading that. Can see how you get your steps in now. I need to make a step plan.

I've just been invited to an NHS 5 yearly health check as I'm now over 40. I'm going to use this as motivation, my aim is to not enable them to tell me I'm overweight! I have 1 month. Let's do this! Grin

LadyofRutshire · 20/11/2024 14:05

I am here with you every step of the way Grin you can manage this in one month. A over 40s health check sounds good. I've never heard of that before.

Went to Aldi the other day and resisted buying Christmas treats. They have got some fab stuff in. Treated myself to a candle instead. Saved calories and £

Brill idea on treating yourself with non food items! This is quite a challenging time of year to be doing this 😂

LadyofRutshire · 20/11/2024 21:04

It really is 🤣 maybe should ask MN to change the thread title to 2 pounds off before Christmas 😕

Thanks guys! Here's to a restrained weekend Smile

pippitypoppitypoo · 23/11/2024 11:02

First weekly weigh in and I'm 2lbs down from last week. Probably deceptive because I had a Chinese the night before my first weigh in Blush but heading in the right direction!

Well done! Great news!

I've lost 1.5lb this week so 3.5lb down in total. I'm aiming for another 5lb by Christmas.

Jumping on this bandwagon. Half a stone by Christmas. Let’s do this.

forgivingfiggy · 25/11/2024 18:30

I'm joining too. I've bought scales. My weigh in day will be a Tuesday.

happytobemrsg · 25/11/2024 19:41

Joining you all a bit late so I don’t think 7lb is doable for me but if I could lose 4lb I’d be thrilled (& only 7lb off my target weight for May!).

CW: 9st 7lb
TW by Xmas: 9lb 3lb

Plan is to stick to 1 normal & 1 smaller meal a day. Limit naughty stuff like crisps. Not to drink any of my calories- easy at home as I love 0cal fruit teas. Would be good if I stopped eating late at night too. I don’t calorie count as I find it overwhelming &I start to obsess.

As I weighed myself today I’ll make Mondays my weigh-in day

LadyofRutshire · 25/11/2024 23:31

Well done everyone who has had a loss this week 👏 👏👏👏 you are all doing great.

Welcome new people 😊 great to have you join.

Well I weighed myself on Saturday morning and I've put weight on 😫😭 back to where I started at 12 stone bloody 7 pounds 🤬

Past few weeks I've had a lot on with birthdays etc. To be kind too myself I did cut back on what I would normally eat and what I was eating at buffets. Alcohol sadly has been my downfall 😞 had far to much gin. I did manage to sneak in a few walks, however I had far to many late nights. So the weight gain could have been a lot worse.

We went out for dinner last night and could notice a difference in my clothes. Hair and skin looking good also, much more healthier. Had water to drink/ trio of salmon with a slice of brown buttered bread, no sauce or anything. Main course was venison casserole/mash and veg. Couldn't even eat half of it because I had a starter.

Anyway a new week and a clean slate for me. Today I managed 30 minutes on the walking pad. Made Lentil/veg/chicken soup for lunch. Made cottage pie for dinner and had brussel sprouts with it. Today's snacks were grapes/banana and Greek yoghurt with stewed rhubarb. How much sugar do recipes tell you to put in stewed rhubarb!!! I just put in 2 teaspoons and a fair bit of cinnamon. Drinks were water/tea/coffee (all decaffeinated with no milk/sugar) and I had one can of coca cola.

I am aiming for a pound off this week and two one hour walks 🙏 for me please 🙏

P.S going to check in my food on here daily because I can't be trusted 🙃

My weight loss has been very up and down as well. I’m not a good cook so tend to reach for easy foods which are not great for you. However, tomorrow I’ll make a big batch of my favourite broccoli salad which will be my main meals for tomorrow and Wednesday. Will also try to plan something healthy and filling for the rest of week too. We do our food shop on Saturdays so I’m generally scraping the bottom of the barrel by Thursday 😂

LadyofRutshire · 25/11/2024 23:49

We just need to keep positive and cheerful we will get there eventually. The main thing is that we keep trying. Trying to think of quick foods 🤔 what about soup, baked potato, salad, steak, omelette things like that. Broccoli salad sounds good how do you make that?

I'm joining. I've just had a week of food freedom and eating what I want. I have not weighed myself recently but feel pretty plump. Guess il get on the scales tomorrow ....

I do like omelettes but I don’t find them filling enough. Thats my problem - I’ll eat healthily then be starving later & snack on rubbish.

This is the base recipe I use. I add lots of garlic when I roast the broccoli.

How did everyone get on today?

OP posts:
LadyofRutshire · 26/11/2024 20:08

Today I've had:

Porridge for breakfast
Lunch was the same as yesterday lentil/veg & chicken soup.
Dinner was baked potato with feta, green olives, yellow pepper, red onion and lettuce.
Snacks were banana, 1 jaffa cake and a packet of cheese curls.
Drinks tea, coffee and water with ice and lime cordial.

Managed to squeeze in a hike for just over an hour.
