I've lost 700 g in 2 weeks but currently spending the weekend with the inlaws, am trying to minimise sugar/carbs but it's an uphill struggle here!

AlwaysKindaKnewYoudBeTheDeathOfMe · 24/08/2024 23:14

I just checked my notes app where I track my weight, and I'm down a kilo in the last two weeks, but still am two kilos heavier than on this day last year.

Never mind. I'm going in the right direction.

Yes I would like to join - over 50 two stone to lose. Can anyone advise where to start I cant stick to any plan keep trying different things for a day then I actually completely forget and even if I remember Im supposed to be eating differently my will is over rided- feels like a brain fog issue. Cant track calories etc struggle to work out what to buy so food wasted. Any tips for the first week to get going??

That’s why I’ve gone with 16:8 intermittent fasting - I know what time it is and can stop eating at 4pm, and that is about the limit of my interest in weighing food/counting calories.

Have been on it a week and I don’t think I’ve lost much weight, but I feel less bloated and my clothes are looser at the waistline so definitely going to continue.

Though I’m on holiday this week and it’s hard to skip dinner without looking antisocial - I need my morning coffee so debating whether to skip lunch, or just go with coffee for breakfast and move the fasting to 12pm-8pm.

Gingertom88 · 25/08/2024 01:03

Count me in too!!

369thegoosedrankwine · 25/08/2024 07:33

Can I join pls?

I'm currently on holiday and this has been my fattest holiday ever I feel old and frumpy and need accountability.

It's not spoiling my holiday but I feel
Like I've let myself down as I don't feel comfortable.
I get back on 1 September so would be great to join then and I am aiming 2 stone by Christmas absolutely no messing!

Lulubellamozarella · 25/08/2024 08:50

How do I join the Whatsapp group on my phone? Sorry I am not very tech savvy but I have the app on my phone and would love to join the group chat. Thanks

TheGirlWhoLived · 25/08/2024 12:14

Pixie2015 · 25/08/2024 18:14

Love the rules - weigh in done today - good luck next week everyone x

Clotted · 25/08/2024 20:39

I’m joining too please! No idea what I weigh but it’s too much and certainly the most it’s been☹️… currently on holiday in France and eating my weight in all this lovely food. But determined to shift 2 stone at least and develop better eating/exercise routines before I retire (hopefully) next spring 😀

I found an 11 to 7pm window was easy to follow. Black coffee or tea in the morning- but I did not see any major change - just need to do it for longer

hby9628 · 22/08/2024 15:29

Yes plse. I've had a terrible couple of months as my dad died suddenly & I've not been looking after myself. Piled on a stone on top of the stone I was hoping to lose
I'm back off hols tomorrow & am going for it.
I've signed up to some exercise classes & need to get more active. I feel awful right now so I need to address it.

Sorry for your loss-

MudandParsnips · 26/08/2024 08:47

Hi all, just found this thread - is there room for one more?! I've had a terrible time this year with illness, and had my colon removed in June. I've piled it on since being on steroids, as well as being sat at home, eating and recovering. Oh, and I'm now on an all inclusive holiday 🙈 I'm starting an exercise programme in September after my 12 week surgery check, but I know that my diet and endless snacking needs addressing the most. I'm 39 and would like to eventually lose 10kgs, I'm currently 73 and was 68 before surgery (and the colon weighs 2 kilos 🫤) definitely need a support group!

YourBlueSquid · 26/08/2024 09:17

I would love to join too , I have a lot more than 2 stone to lose but it would be a brilliant start.
My meals are generally healthy and non processed but my snacks and my booze are definitely an issue.
I haven't weighed myself in months and have been in denial for a long time but recent photos of myself have made me want to sob.

I think it was working for me because I was skipping dinner - so quite a large calorie deficit. Skipping breakfast isn’t going to have quite the same impact, I only usually have coffee and a yoghurt anyway 😂

But it’s only one week, and I can go back onto 8-4 on Saturday.

I need to lose weight I got a wedding to go too next year I've lost a stone with calorie counting

Be nice to lose another stone

Blarn · 26/08/2024 13:44

I woke up with a migraine so my intermittent fasting was broken at 11am with a bar of dairy milk. I mean, the fast window was still there! I am also on my period and never feel the slightest bit guilty about just eating sugar whenI am.

I am really looking forward to September. I love spending time with the dc but it is alldone around what time I can book off work, when dh is off, holiday clubs, nanny's house... I want the predictable routine back. I think it might be why I have been suffering more migraines than usual, the constant having to think about what is going on and juggling everything. Like a toddler, I thrive on routine!

Readingtheworld · 26/08/2024 16:14

Can I join as well please. I need to drop 1 stone. I am 10st2 with a BMI of 26. I’m 42 and peri menopausal and it has really affected my fitness and diet. I am developing a menopause tummy and really struggling with motivation. I need to do something about it but also for me future proofing my body and brain is a big target. I have already started slowly with some dietary changes and need to work hard at regular exercise again. Accountability is what I need!

TotteringBy · 26/08/2024 16:15

Another one asking to join. Haven't weighed myself for over a year, I've been in denial. In my mind I'm not that fat, mostly wear jeans (with a lot of give), go to work, wear scrubs and come home, it's only when I want to wear something nice I have to face reality. None of my smart clothes fit and shopping for new is grim. Daughter's graduation next week, I've bought new from Hobbs but I look like the back end of a bus! 🥲 2 stone should mean I rediscover my waist and not far off my pre-menopausal weight.
I'm reducing my hours as of September, so just 2 1/2 days, as I wind down to retirement and I realise I need to use this extra me time sensibly to address my health before old age catches up with me. I've booked a Well Woman blood test on Wednesday, (Goodbody Clinic) and I'm dreading finding out what my cholesterol is. I hate taking medication, and definitely don't want to go on statins, so the bad news will hopefully give me added impetus to make changes for good. No more buttery toast for a quick breakfast and no more buttery cheesy baked potatoes! I have a plan, and more exercise is part of the plan. I live in a very beautiful area, but a stroll in the country park isn't really exercise. I've promised myself at least once a week driving a short distance to where there is a really steep escarpment and doing a good 3 hour hike involving puffing up the hill - good for heart and bum muscles! Aiming to go swimming once a week on my half day, I like swimming and find it the best exercise for me - especially because being overweight means struggling with achey knees.
We need to go into retirement in good health @Clotted

pandy24 · 26/08/2024 19:00

Please can I join?!! I'm 42 & 3 stone overweight but to lose 2 stone by Christmas would be fantastic.
I have put on an incredible amount of weight over the last 3/4 years. Lockdown was the start of it really.
I keep starting and stopping within a couple of days. I don't recognise myself anymore. Would love to be part of your group xx

MamaDollyorJesus · 26/08/2024 20:05

Can I join?

I've lost 20lb since April calorie counting & doing more exercise but I've reached a stage where I'm fed up with all the weighing & meal planning & the weathers getting rubbish so going out for a walk isn't appealing so need a bit of accountability to keep going.

I'm 45 & haven't hit menopause yet but am reliably informed by my mother that if I don't shift the weight before it hits then it'll be even harder.

I'm aiming for 1500 calories & some form of exercise every day.

Steps wise I'm ok on office days as I work on the 3rd floor so up & down stairs all day but on WFH days it's 16 steps from my desk to the coffee machine so need to get out for a walk in the morning or lunchtime (weather dependent but do have a treadmill).

Blosssom · 26/08/2024 20:34

Bit of a hit and miss BH weekend. Best efforts were made but we were away, so breakfast, lunch and dinner out/in the hotel.

I tried to stick to veggies / chicken / scrambled eggs etc but let's see tomorrow whether there's been a lot of damage.

I was down to 80kg / 12.6 stone after one week so was quite pleased with that. Back on it tomorrow

frenchbreadandbites · 26/08/2024 20:48

Ahhh ladies! I was individually posting to all the newbies individual comments and annoyingly managed to delete it! I'm so sorry but I don't have time to go through and Individually reply back again.

But I'm so glad we've got even more new members! Welcome aboard! Whatever your goal, age or situation we're all here to support each other.

Managed to be persuaded to go to a friends for a couple of rose spritzers which turned into a few glasses. Got home at midnight and then weirdly just could not sleep the whole night. Today has been bad food wise (sausage rolls, Greek soulvaki lamb and halloumi and chips and ice cream) but I had a really good week aside for this. Drinking 2 litres of water and sticking to my calorie deficit! Be intrigued to weigh myself tomorrow.

For those of you who haven't joined, the what's app group can be found here: chat.whatsapp.com/CInU4brkHLeFTJsBWTta4x

One of the lovely ladies posted you can get this amazing cookbook (I have the physical copy) for 99p on the kindle store.
Loads of quick, easy and healthy recipes.

@frenchbreadandbites alcohol ruins my sleep now, to the point where its absolutely motivating me to drink less. It also makes me sweat buckets in the night. Its just not worth it!

frenchbreadandbites · 27/08/2024 07:40

Morning ladies! happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a great long weekend. I'm exhausted haha! But ready to power on. Three litres of water incoming and going to be really good today, after my blip yesterday.
