20 hour fast and another OMAD; 15k steps and day 13 of no sugar. Feeling ok.

Morning ladies! Sorry have been AWOL have been keeping a low profile after I went a bit off the rails on my birthday on Monday! Hope we all have a lovely day! I love the sound of homemade focaccia! Can you share a recipe?

Also, congrats to all the losses, healthy choices being made and commitment to this! Controversly, I track ALL cals except tea (and I have a lot of tea)! Been really rubbish at drinking water this week and have snacked a lot more!

If ever I feel hungry between meals I eat an apple first and then if I'm still hungry will eat a small snack. Cream crackers and a bit of a cheese, Ham and cheese without any bread!

Xxxx

OK, I did have two small chocolate chip biscuits, a slice of spelt bread from the bakers and four dark chocolate buttons. The buttons were to make cornflake cakes with dd1 but dh ate nearly all the pack! So I ate them with dc.

This sounds great! Never deprive yourself! I unofficially started a few weeks ago and I'm calorie tracking on a deficit, because it allows me room for chocolate and cake and things I enjoy but just not at the same quantity I was eating them before haha!

77kg on the scales this morning, meaning I have lost 5kg since mid August and 2kg since starting this challenge on 1 September.

Hope it will continue going this quickly, I have a feeling probably not. Also, no one has said anything. Wish my friends would notice it!!!

I use this as I know it works and fits in the large baking dish I have. I often put olives on top and use half bread half spelt flour. I only make it as I do it in with the dough hook otherwise kenwood mixer I have, I would never bother by hand! But it with the mixer it is easy.

I enjoy a biscuit in the afternoon or pudding on the weekend. I am cutting out nibbling at things when I go in the kitchen and I know less alcohol is going to help. I'm in the office today and have no lunch with me so need to decide what to eat. Or whether to power through to when I get home.

Focaccia recipe | Good Food

Make a simple, homemade version of this classic Italian bread. Serve our rosemary focaccia alongside pasta dishes or enjoy with green salads

Day 5 and 141.6lbs so around 3.25lbs so far. Now the weekend is approaching so I will have to work on not going back up again by Monday.
Off to find something healthy in the fridge for lunch.

Blarn · 05/09/2024 23:51

Kids have been back at school 2 days and I have a cold so lunch was a tall white mocha and a Pret lemn cheesecake Blush.
Dinner was a veg heavy bolognese, a sensible amount of pasta and two slices of garlic baguette with a mini roll for pudding. I've resisted going into the kitchen for a snack so that's progress.

That's really good Smile

I used to be able to lose weight so easily. A couple of weeks missing lunch and the weight would drop off and stay off. Now it's a proper struggle. I've written on other threads about my experience with antidepressants and just stacking on weight. No matter what I did I gained a couple of pounds each month. I was barrel shaped and although since stopping them I have been able to lose weight it is slow and difficult. But they literally saved my life so I made my peace with the weight gain. I'd really like to be slimmer though.

JugglingMummyof2 · 06/09/2024 08:55

👋@Blarn well done for doing what was required to save your life and I'm so pleased you are able to be safely off the tablets now.
For me, these first 5lbs are excess weight from my last holiday and will drop off speedily as i have stopped having 3 big meals plus 5 snacks and 2 glasses of wine most days.
The next 7lbs have been gained slowly over the summer and will be very slow to come off sadly.
We will do it together 😇

Blarn · 06/09/2024 09:08

I know I need to increase exercise and hopefully cutting down on the snacks and beer will help. I think a lot of it is missing being younger as well! I was looking at some of our wedding photos the other day and also annoyed that I never saw how beautiful and thin I was! And young!

Peae · 06/09/2024 19:28

21 hour fast, 18k steps and still no sugar.

Was hoping to fast all day but ended up eating some salmon and olives in the spirit of fat fasting.

Day 6 and 6lbs down - although I did have a few lbs of flight bloat so I know some of it is that.

SW; 11.11
CW; 11.5
GW: 10

I haven't had one glass one wine this week. I've exercised for 30 mins every day (simple dog walks some days) and not one crisp or biscuit and I've closed the kitchen at 7pm.

This is where my challenge begins as this is the weight my body is used to - aiming for another 2 lbs this week.

Congrats to everyone losing - this thread is really keeping me going. I think I am mentally in the right place - last night was wine time but instead I took my dogs for a really long walk! I think I am aware of my downfalls and being really honest with myself!

Blosssom · 07/09/2024 10:08

Some great losses so far on this thread, well done.

Slightly depressing few days here, as expected after the initial great progress the scales now seem to be stationary, in spite of no diet mishaps and lots of exercise. Just have to stick with it I suppose!

Did 30 minutes exercise bike earlier and will go for a good length walk as well. Two boiled eggs on crispbread for breakfast.

Leavestumble · 07/09/2024 11:39

Please can I join?! Really struggling with reducing my sugar and cooking proper meals. I don't drink, so there is a start, but have steady weight gain so know I need to change my diet and exercise! On the scales this morning at 76.3kg!! 😮 Heavier than when I was pregnant! Opps!

Standinginthesunlight · 07/09/2024 11:45

I have weighed in this morning. 3lb lost.

Pleased with that. I don’t have a particular goal but anything under 11 stone would be good.

Weighed myself on day 4 and I'd lost 2 pounds so disappointed that today it's exactly the same as last week.😮
Was drinking a ltr water a day, walking lots, 1 swim, 1 run and 2 weight sessions at the gym. I did forget to track calories the last two days and eat a whole packet of gouda as a snack on Friday though....will make sure I track all week this time and be alcohol free for a week

EatingHealthy · 08/09/2024 08:27

Checking in for the end of 'week 1' (I started on Tuesday so it's only been five days so far, but I'll weigh myself weekly on Sundays).
Start weight: 11st 6.
Current weight: 11st 4.

Happy with that. Had a gentle start exercise wise- gradually building up because I've been very sedentary of late, but have managed to stick to 1500cals/day.

StewardsEnquiry · 08/09/2024 08:29

I've weighed in again today and after a good start last week I've stayed the same for the last 4 days. I have eaten well but had a couple of sneaky glasses of wine.

I'm a bit gutted to not have lost any more so I'll make sure no alcohol next week.

qwerty1972 · 08/09/2024 08:43

First weigh in and 2lbs off! Very happy with that. I’ve pushed more than a mile a day (wheelchair user) and really felt the benefit of being out in the fresh air, managed 2 litres of water a day and got the sweet treats under control. Another 13 weeks like that and I’ll be there 😀.

Hi everyone I would love to join.
Iv always been slim but since turning 30 and losing my Nan and mum in the space of a few months Iv really let myself go!!

Want to lose a stone.

I have started 3ltrs of water a day, smaller portions and no sugar in tea. Need to get some scales to track weight.

Would love to see everyone's dinner ideas Smile

NotPennysBoat · 08/09/2024 09:22

End of week one weigh in and I've lost 1.5kg (3lb) which I'm thrilled with! Not getting too carried away though as I expect that was an easy loss due to overindulgence on holiday and now getting back to normal.

Successes:
☑️ Cutting right back on booze. I've gone from having a couple of glasses of wine 3 or 4 nights a week, to one night only (Saturday).
☑️ Cutting right back on chocolate & biscuits. This is a huge one for me because since as long as I can remember I've 'needed' chocolate every single day. It's been a psychological switch I think because I'm so determined to stay healthy as I age.
☑️ Walked to school & back twice this week
☑️ 16:8 fasting, skipping breakfast and then eating normally from 12-8pm

Need to work on:
🔘 Water intake, I start the day well but lose interest quickly!
🔘 Smaller portion sizes, need to train myself not to serve up the same size portion as DH!
🔘 More steps. Walking to school will be less attractive now the weather is about to turn!

SW: 71kg
CW: 69.5kg
GW: 64kg

Well done everyone else and keep going!

Rowgtfc72 · 08/09/2024 09:36

End of week one.
3lb down.
45 miles cycled
12 miles walked.
Only managing 1ltr of water a day but will try harder.
If I come in from work and take the dog straight out I'm not in the fridge.😁
