Just that really. I used to be a on a short person weight loss thread and can't see a current one. I'm 5'1, 41 and 10st 5lb and need to get down to 9st. I had a baby in May and had got down to 9st 3lb before the pregnancy. So far I'm finding it quite hard to cut the calories down and need to work on that, and obviously need to fit exercise in around the baby but at least being on mat leave helps with that.

@SpecduckularlyQuackers she’s not sleeping great again. She now wakes for 1-2 hours every night, it’s a pain. How are you getting on? 1 stone is amazing.

I’ve lost a few pounds since I restarted but right now my scales are just stupid. In the last two days it’s weighed me at 9st 13, 9st 11, 10st 2, 10st 1, 10st…this is all at the same time of the morning on two consecutive mornings. I find Salter scales to be crap but don’t know if it’s any better with other brands. I have a digital set but also a regular old fashioned Salter set that I bought last time my digital scales were pissing me off, but they’re just as bad and claim I’m half a stone or more lighter than I am which is simply not the case.

Clocking in shorties! Before my holiday in September I was close to dipping into the 9's.

Now back up to 10.5. I could feel myself pressing the F it button. But that would be 2 or 3 pounds and 2 or 3 more at Christmas, so basically it's time to restart.

Don't have any particular scheme, just eat less.

Thought I’d post here in case anyone is still at it. Not had much luck sticking to anything over winter really but I have to get serious about it now. Fitting in workouts is certainly tough with a baby in tow, I’m going to a sweaty mama class in a little while and need to get back to doing 1200kcal. On the plus side, I was 10st 5 when I started this thread and I’m stuck at around 10 right now. I have no idea how I’ll get a stone off based on how slow, inconsistent and unsuccessful the past few months have been!

I'm back at it. Started at bit of a crash diet today. Holiday coming up and want a few pounds gone in the next couple of weeks

thislittlebird · 13/04/2025 12:16

@Needanewname42 how are you getting on? Nearly a month later and I have actually got into it again. It’s really hard to stick to it all but the weather has helped me out a lot the past week or so. I’m not sure I’ve lost anything and my scales are rarely useful so I might measure myself today and tomorrow and see if I can see a difference that way.

Currently in the gym after letting the diet slip again. Been on holiday for a week too.
But I want to be under 12st for summer.

Not overly ambitious but it's a target

How are you getting on

SpecduckularlyQuackers · 12/05/2025 09:19

Hello shorties! Just resurrecting this thread to see if any of you are still around? I totally lost my mojo for weight loss for a while - took a 'break' for Christmas, then between returning to work after mat leave and the baby's sleep reaching new lows I didn't have the energy for anything more than surviving each day! Happily it hasn't been a complete disaster and I'm 8 lb down from when I last posted in November.

Baby is nearly 11 months now and sleep is showing some glimmers of improvement so I'm back on it. It's my 40th this summer (eep!). I'd originally hoped to be a healthy BMI by then - I don't think that's realistic now but I'm still going to use it as a goal to lose another half stone between now and then.

SW 12 st 8 lb
CW 10 st 13 lb
Interim GW 10 st 6 lb
Final GW 9 st 7 lb (my normal weight for years before my pregnancies - hopefully my body remembers this)

Hope you're all doing well!

thislittlebird · 13/05/2025 11:33

@SpecduckularlyQuackers welcome back! I also lost my mojo and have found sticking at it all rigidly tough with the baby around and then back to work and nursery settling struggles.

I have definitely lost some weight and waist centimetres, although find being strict with food quite tough at the moment but the good weather is helping me keep active. I’m only a few pounds lighter than in November thanks to a lack of focus throughout winter but hopefully I can lose some more over the summer.

sw: 10st 5lb
cw: 9st 10lb
gw: 8st 7lb-9lb

It’s frustrating because 10lb off feels very achievable and yet here I am not having lost it

how are you getting on? @Needanewname42

Hi,
I'm still bouncing around 12st 5.
I'm getting fitter but can't seem to shift the pounds.
At this precise moment in time, I'm thinking 🤔 do I have lunch or try and fast to dinner and do a spot of housework instead.

Chubbybetty · 13/05/2025 12:59

@SpecduckularlyQuackers We have quite an active chat going called 'The stone starts shifting today'; a fair few shorties who don't have masses to lose but we definitely have a variety of people supporting each other.

Just checking in here!

Think I posted back in February…I’m 46 years old, 161cm/5ft 3 and currently weigh 66kg…back in Feb I’d had an awful flu like illness, unwell for over a week took me a good few weeks to feel back to normal

When I was unwell, I ate v little over that week and spent most of the time lying down/sleeping…I did lose some weight but only a kilo or two, never went any lower than 65kg…back to eating normally again for the past 4 months or so & stuck at 66kg

Since Easter I’ve upped my exercise- doing a sport 2/3 times a week including gym trips/classes and generally MOVING MORE, the nicer weather has helped…

But one thing worries me- every past summer I have lost a few kg and got down to 62/63kg after losing my ‘winter coat’…but not this time 🤔

I am now starting to wonder…is this perimenopause?

Don’t have any other objective symptoms and I take the combined pill so have a ‘period’ during the pill free week

I’m going to book with the GP soon to request some blood tests, just want to rule out anything else going on eg thyroid issue, but deep down I think that my metabolism has simply slowed down…has anyone else found this?

Hope you are all doing well on your weight loss journeys! Flowers
