Started back at new class tonight - disgusted with myself - am at the heaviest I've ever been
However, I am motivated and will do this

Demented · 06/01/2005 21:12

Twiglett, I think I only had 5 syns. We were at Frankie & Bennys and I had the tomato and basil soup followed by penne pasta and arrabiata (2.5 for the soup and 2.5 for the pasta sauce???), a bit too many tomatoes for one mealtime but it was nice. It's just occurred to me that maybe I should check the SW website, they might be able to give me a more accurate total.

Demented · 06/01/2005 21:13

Oooh are you telling me I should go and have that slice of toast and cheese? I'll never be able to sleep, I feel like you could put a pin in me and I would burst!

DecafArabica · 07/01/2005 00:30

Don't want to worry you, Demented, but restaurant pasta dishes usually have lots of oil in them and therefore a far higher syn count than you might expect (unless the restaurant you are talking about does a special slimmers' version, in which case I stand corrected).
Cori, welcome to our thread, hope your first meeting went OK!
Christie, my DS is 4 in April.

lizibeth · 07/01/2005 11:41

hi ya ladies,
well done on your weight losses this week. I'm following success express and lost 5lb last week and 3.5lb this. I'm really enjoying it. The only part I find hard is finding time for the breakfast.
Keep up the good work and keep those good vibes going...
love Liz

Hi all - just to let you know I am still around and haven given up (yet!) . Have beem a bit tired to post recently. So has anyone tried those new Mullerlights I mentioned. Haven't found the lemon cheesecake ones yet - can't find them anywhere but the apple pie ones are scrummy. Week going well except for unexpected meal out last night for dm birthday.

OP posts:
DecafArabica · 07/01/2005 14:26

No, I haven't seen those Mullerlights. Are you sure they really exist??? Sounds too good to be true!

Demented · 07/01/2005 14:48

I wondered that Arabica but I didn't have the toast and cheese so didn't use my second B choice healthy extra which can be a tablespoon of olive oil so am sticking my head in the sand and hoping this covers it (although I doubt it!).

Got a friend coming tonight for a glass of wine (and presumably nibbles, arrrgh) so fretting a bit about this just now, having a red day today so thinking along the lines of chicken drumsticks or something.

Tomorrow will probably be the biggest challenge, a children's party, how will I keep myself from nibbling, I'm sure the hosts will think I've gone barmy if I bring out a box with my own food in it, just for me!

Twiglett · 07/01/2005 14:52

Demented .. prawns ... smoked salmon ... chicken strips .. crudites ...

magimix smoked salmon with cottage cheese with garlic herbs and lemon juice and pepper

liver pate .. boil chicken livers (till just cooked .. normally only a few minutes), 3 eggs
magimix an onion till fine, add the chicken livers and magimix then put in a bowl .. magimix the hard-boiled eggs .. mix into liver .. add a couple of spoons of fat free fromage free .. and salt to taste (quite a bit) .. '

they're all free

remember a large glass of wine is about 9 syns

HTH

Twiglett · 07/01/2005 14:54

no the hosts will think you're on a diet and gonna stick to it .. don't worry about it .. do what you have to do

crunchie · 07/01/2005 15:13

Crudites and dips are the way to go on red or green day. One nice dip I have 'created' is low fat yoghurt mixed with creamed horseradish (about heaped tsp to ramekin of yoghurt) Unsure of the sins, but probably 2 for the whole pot of dip. Also Prawns with sweet chilli dip. Yoghurt again mixed with that sweet chilli sauce you get for chinese food. 1 tbsp is 1 syn I think. Yummy

champs · 07/01/2005 17:54

I am shamelessly butting in!!! sparkler, where do you get the mullerlite??

Also can anyone tell me if you really can do sw whilst pregnant?!

DelGirl · 07/01/2005 17:59

champs, yes you can, same rules as normal apparently. you can get mullerlites in most shops afaik.

Twiglett · 07/01/2005 18:12

I thought that when pregnant you got extra healthy extras

DelGirl · 07/01/2005 18:14

so did I twig, but sadly not . You do if you're BF though apparently.

Twiglett · 07/01/2005 18:19

definitely do when BF

Yorkiegirl · 07/01/2005 18:25

Twiglett · 07/01/2005 18:27

lemon cheesecake

tub of quark
tbsp of lemon curd (1.5 syns)
lemon juice
sweetener

mix and yum

DecafArabica · 07/01/2005 19:21

Mullerlight with syns? Have any of the old flavours got syn values now or is it just the cheesecake?
Also, horrified at news no more healthy extras for pregnant SW members. Does anyone know what advice they tend to give to preg members, ie, presumably you aren't expected to aim to lose weight each week?

SPARKLER1 · 07/01/2005 22:33

Did anyone get the SW magazine for January? The new mullerlight yogs are advertised in there. (inside cover and to of page 76) I bought my apple pie one 1 syn) in Asda haven't found the lemon cheesecake (1/2) one yet . They are very low in syns so not too much to worry about. I reckon they are well worth it if you have a sweet tooth.

SPARKLER1 · 07/01/2005 22:34

sorry Arabica - not sure about SW when you are pregnant.

Demented - enjoy your party - remember FLEXIBLE SYMS.

I know I have said it before but a fantastic bit of advice our consultant tells us is:-
"when you are tempted with something, look at it and think to yourself 'do I really want to EAT this as MUCH as I WANT to lose weight". Have use this before and you'll be surprised at yourself what you put back on the plate. good luck x

Hi Arabica, my first meeting will be this Tuesday.
Couple of advance questions?
How many Syns are you allowed each day? Can you save them up.?

SPARKLER1 · 08/01/2005 18:09

You can have 10 - 15 syns a day. x
