wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Thanks @Needtodosomething25
I've decided my money is better spent on a PT!

I know what I need to do to lose weight & to be honest just need to do it.

It was a great first gym session & am feeling virtuous now. Goes SO much faster with a PT and is certainly more effective!

Trying to decide what to eat for a healthy protein full lunch 🥗

I’m trying to increase protein and reduce carbs.
I eat a lot of eggs at lunch. I’m a veggie so do struggle to get the protein without loads of processed foods.
My meal today will be ( I’m not eating for 18hours a day so have to wait another hour ) 2 poached eggs with lots of steamed mushrooms and salad. I’ve found mushrooms are filling but really low in calories.

Any other ideas for non meat protein meals would be great !

moosey89 · 12/07/2024 12:10

@StandingSideBySide lentils, chickpeas, edamame beans, kidney beans, peas, black beans, broad beans - all great sources of protein 😁

One of my favourite veggie high protein meals is a bean chilli because it's super filling as well as low calorie/high protein.

I do a lot of beans but have never tried edamame.
Might give those a try 👍

@StandingSideBySide I'm pescatarian and eat loads of veg...

Crispy tofu (make either cornflour) is my favourite with a massive veg stir fry
Dhal
Any omelette
Bean salads
Lentil and roast veg salad either feta
Anything with feta sprinkled over - padron peppers are my favourite!
Homous & roast veg
Veggie sausages & roast vegetables
Ratatouille with beans added or feta sprinkled
Shakshuka ❤️

MadameMassiveSalad · 12/07/2024 12:24

Just had boiled eggs & feta on corn cakes for my first meal of the day.

Frankgodno · 12/07/2024 17:53

Had a blip, but practicing what I preach and drawing a line under it. Clean sheet tomorrow. Workout and calories counting to resume….

Ive been veggie since 1980 and I’ve never cooked tofu 🤯. It’s not my fave thing but the ‘crispy’ idea sounds nice. So I’ll give that a try.

Googling that Shakshuka now as I have no idea what that is

Thanks!!!!

wefly · 12/07/2024 18:10

Sooooo breakfast and lunch were great.

Dinner ended up being a mish mash of snacks (watermelon, few almonds, a protein bar and bit of kids pasta leftovers)

Never mind. Putting it down as a "picky tea" 😂😂😂 (apologies to those of you that hate this term LOL)

Off for a swim now 🏊‍♂️

This week is really though going for me, PMS week but I lost another kg. I am happy with that.

wefly · 13/07/2024 06:14

Morning!

Well done to those of you losing lbs & kg.

I can't quite seem to let myself be in a deficit. I always cave and have a snack or 2 which keep me in maintenance.

Any advice on how to find that little bit more motivation?

OP posts:
Needtodosomething25 · 13/07/2024 08:41

I'm a bit disheartened, as appear to have put on 2lb despite a good week?! What's that about?! Yesterday was a bad day in terms of carbs and not enough fruit or veg as I was feeling poorly so it was a toast sort of day. But I've been in cal deficit?!

braveandwellbehaved · 13/07/2024 08:48

@Needtodosomething25 hey! Keep on it this happens to me all the time!if I stick to the diet and drink a ton of water usually I drop the weigh and more in the next two days. I think different food, exercise etc can cause slow digestion and water retention

moosey89 · 13/07/2024 08:51

@Needtodosomething25 when you eat more carbs you can temporarily retain water - it's likely just that. Do you weigh in every day? That way you can take the average weight each week over the 7 days and it'll give you a more true comparison as only weighing once a week can be really misleading x

braveandwellbehaved · 13/07/2024 09:00

went our for diner on Friday and weighed in at 9st12 next morning. Just got back on the wagon Saturday and today weighed in at 9st9!

@LuckyPlant walking the dog is the best therapy agreed! My dog hates everyone (she’s a traumatised rescue) 😂 but she loves bounding around off leas in the fields and I love being there to witness it!

@YouG0GlenCoco getting back on and not freaking out about a wagon fall has been key for me in the last couple months.
I really struggle with it previously but it’s been so so so instrumental in my successful weight loss - so hard though!

LuckyPlant · 13/07/2024 13:40

Wefly- I'm no expert in avoiding snacks as my waistline will attest, but what's working for me recently is to go bigger and tastier with my meals. If i have something fairly healthy but plain like a chicken breast and veg then my tastebuds get sad and want to make up for it with crisps or biscuits. Loving strawberries at the moment- a bowl with a little cream helps with my sweet/fat cravings (still would rather have a doughnut though...).

YouG0GlenCoco · 13/07/2024 14:48

@wefly I guess it depends on what strategy you're using and what your calorie allowance is, I'm finding I try and fill up at meal times and add in loads of salad or veg to bulk it out without using too many calories. I then have calories within my allowance for snacks or something sweet. I do have a sweet tooth and even if I'm really full I feel the need for something! I stock up on little things from the under 100 cal section in Tesco, current fave is a pack of chocolate ice gems 😊

wefly · 13/07/2024 21:03

Hey guys.

Just posting for some accountability really. I e made good choices today but again, gone over my kcals.

Will start my day tomorrow with a gym session I think. I need to get that buzzy feeling of motivation.

How's everyone days been?

OP posts:
Frankgodno · 14/07/2024 06:43

My day was good yesterday but over my cals as well as we went to a village fete.
my food shop this week hasnt been very well planned which means less healthier choices. I’m going to try and stay within cals though even if less healthy 🤔

happy Sunday everyone

braveandwellbehaved · 14/07/2024 06:57

Hi everyone! Heading to Spain today for a sunny holiday, just me and the girls are going to meet a friend of mine there who lives there with her children. She separated from her partner a year ago and since then has been focusing a lot on fitness and healthy eating. Which is great actually as I’ll be in a good place to eat healthily - although I do feel my disordered eating gets a little triggered by her sometimes. Which can sometimes have the opposite effect. Anyways, travelling with two small children will probably mean weird eating but I’m fine with that actually. It’s all about balance. Today weighed in at 9 st 9. General goal is try to lose that last 3 lbs in July- can I do it?? Would love to keep going through summer and see how I go. I’m quite short 5”2 so it actually wouldn’t be that drastic to keep going to 9 st but it’s more if I can be happy whilst always on a diet. So far I’ve actually been enjoying it- the feeling of caring for myself and the extra energy! I’d be sad giving it up for that reason …

Eumie · 14/07/2024 08:06

I’ve been trying my best this weekend, but my downfall is always having a couple drinks in the evening after a long day of solo parenting!

I also had some friends round last minute on Friday so we ended up having pizza, normally I’d have cooked something tasty but still healthy!

ILoveNigelTufnel · 14/07/2024 09:51

Nearly a whole week of not snacking but I did succumb to some crisps (which were gorgeous) a mini walnut whip yesterday (which was rather disappointing - I’d been looking forward to that).

Back on it today.

I totally get disheartened by this too!
But weight loss is never linear.
It's a wiggly line up and down that veers in whatever direction you are travelling.
It's fine.
Keep going.
You've got this 👊🏾

LuckyPlant · 14/07/2024 14:51

I'm doing my meal planning for the week. I made four portions of a new chicken pasta recipe yesterday: it has a tomato, pepper and mascarpone sauce and is 500 kcals. Had a portion last night and thought it was very creamy for those cals. Then realised I'd added the whole tub instead of a quarter. So an extra 250 per portion. Moral of the story is don't cook while daydreaming

MiaN · 15/07/2024 05:20

I am happy with last week. It was really though but I got through it and lost some weight. Hoping for another good week but little easier. I am so hungry during that week of the month.

wefly · 15/07/2024 05:45

Morning lovely losers!

FRESH new week. Who needs it?! 🙋🏻‍♀️

1700 cals and a gym session for me today. Going to attempt 100% unprocessed.

It's now a month countdown to my holiday. I'm determined to get on my bikini feeling good.

Please send me all your motivation vibes. I need itttttt!!! X
