!!! JULY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE !!!

wefly · 30/06/2024 18:34

Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

The weekend wasn’t great diet-wise for me although I did hit 10k steps both days and did a hour at the gym on Sunday. Today I reckon I’ve hit around 1,300 calories and done 10k steps.

breakfast - shreddies and a banana
snack - apple
lunch - egg and ham salad
dinner - fish, baked beans and a potato waffle

Re-committing for this week!

YouG0GlenCoco · 08/07/2024 21:53

First day on it today so still getting to grips with it!

Didn't eat breakfast first thing, had fruit at 10:30
Lunch crackers and soft cheese, banana
Dinner roast chicken breast, salad, cous cous
Snacks fruit, skinny whip bar
Exercise 50 min dog walk

I'm using the nutracheck app which has worked out my calories at 1400 per day to lose 1lb per week. I'm feeling quite hungry and I have just over 500 calories left so going to have something now but tomorrow I need to spread them more evenly I think. I was worried about eating too many earlier in the day and not having enough left!

LuckyPlant · 09/07/2024 06:39

I've had a decent first week weigh in today - I know it's water weight etc but it's still nice to see (I had a not so great Sunday too- could've been worse, freezer jam has jammed so I couldn't get at the ice cream).

I'm all about trying instagram recipes this week and aiming for biggish meals c.500 kcals but fewer snacks. 5:2 day yesterday and had a chicken Caesar salad with crispy potatoes.

LuckyPlant · 09/07/2024 06:40

Freezer drawer, I mean

LostaraYil · 09/07/2024 07:09

Well done on the losses. I haven't weighed myself but I'm thinking I should because it is very motivating seeing the loss.
Good start today, I've done some weights and walked the dogs. The plan is salad with feta for lunch, eggs as a snack and a burger and salad for dinner.

Frankgodno · 09/07/2024 07:15

Well done everyone 🙂

upper workout done for me today ✅ didn’t have much energy for it but did as much as I could

plan for today: Smoothie/Miso Tofu & Aubergine/Mustard Chicken

lets go 💪🏻

Frankgodno · 09/07/2024 07:17

@LuckyPlant I love a new recipe!! Please share any good ones or IG accounts to follow 🫶🏻

moosey89 · 09/07/2024 07:30

Stuck in a work conference for 2 days, but managed to eat ok yesterday considering and walked back to the hotel to hit 10k steps. Another full day of sitting coming up 🙈 but at least I can ask my other half to cook a healthy dinner for when I get 🏡! Should hit 10k steps again as my walking will be identical to yesterday. Gym tomorrow.

ILoveNigelTufnel · 09/07/2024 09:21

I did the whole day yesterday without snacking! I’m really bad for eating when I’m not actually hungry and just mindlessly grazing through out the day (and then eating an evening meal even though I’m not actually hungry) and yesterday I didn’t 😃

Going to do the same again today…

wefly · 09/07/2024 09:55

My days off to a cracking start

Fasted 30 min swim complete

Now enjoying a super healthy breaky of yoghurt, greens powder, banana, muesli & raw nuts

OFF WE GOOOOO

Well done!! This is a big issue for me too, I'm not even hungry but if I'm at home I'm constantly snacking. I'm thinking of putting all the snack type things in a box with a lid on top of the fridge! When the kids want something I can get it down for them but I don't have easy access to it whenever I walk past then 😳

wefly · 09/07/2024 14:52

How is everyone getting on?

Lunch wasn't quite as healthy as breakfast. Went for a petrol station sandwich, crisps and smoothie but also not awful.

Saving myself now for a family dinner of roast chicken and veg.

Hi all,
I'm back on track since the weekend, despite a pretty full on week at work. Started my day with the Monday CC class and will do today's this evening. (If I didn't have this group, I possibly wouldn't have bothered to catch up, so thank you!) Low on steps today but did loads yesterday so feeling fine about that.
Hope everyone else is having good days!

Frankgodno · 09/07/2024 17:41

Hope everyone has had good days 🙂
My day has been good, have stuck to plan except for did steal 3 of kids sweeties 🤣 3 sweets is fine though and I still think my day is there or about 1400 calories 👍🏻 so im happy with that.

I bought a size 10 jeans and they do up but a real squeeze and uncomfortable to wear normally. So another goal is to feel comfortable in them!

keep going everyone 😬

Eumie · 09/07/2024 17:48

So I was doing really well today, until I was putting some batch cooking in the freezer, and there was no space! So I had to take out the tub of Ben and jerrys ice cream to make room, and then I didn’t want it to go to waste, so finished it 😅

It was delicious, and thankfully I’ve been low cal the rest of the day, plus I’m going to the gym this evening. So hopefully I’ll end up just on maintenance for today!

wefly · 09/07/2024 18:40

Just checking in. Pretty great day. Over cals slightly but still happy. Tbh I think I need more cals so think I'm going to 'up' them.

Here's the round up of the day...

FOOD:

Break- Yoghurt, greens powder, banana, muesli, nuts (450 cals)

Lunch- Tuna sandwich, crisps, smoothie (750)

Snack- Olives & pickled onions 100

Dinner- Chicken thighs, brocoli, carrots 450

Snack - Natural yoghurt, blueberries, almonds, cashews 350

Total- 2100

EXERCISE:

30 min fasted swim
A fair amount of walking

Second day of no snacking! Haven’t eaten much at all as I have had a horrible headache all day but dinner was jerk chicken, rice and veggies (followed by a Nobbly bobbly ice lolly but 🤷‍♀️ it could have been worse).

@YouG0GlenCoco snacking is my biggest awefulness. I eat if I’m tired, happy, bored, sad, to avoid doing something else. It takes a lot of will power to not do it!! And I’m seriously lacking in that.

So the Caesar salad was from www.instagram.com/reel/C71xlrjo4dt/?igsh=ajJxOXlkNm5wdWFx

For breakfast today I had a berry power shake from the book "Always Hungry?".
Lunch was a chicken and veg wrap in the air fryer and dinner was chicken sausage orzo: both from Fraser Reynolds on instagram www.instagram.com/reel/C14ngLXIQ2G/?igsh=aWY2M2NjbWZpYmlt

StandingSideBySide · 09/07/2024 21:36

Joining late here.

Would like to lose a stone that I put on after having twins.
Tried the 5:2 last year but as I’m veggie I struggled to keep to 500 calories on those starve days. I generally struggle to drop carbs ( high calories ) and increase protein.

So I’m doing the 18:6. ie nothing for 18 hours then eat for the other 6hours.
As I’m refurbishing our house I’m not doing any extra exercise at the moment, but I may dust off the exercise bike that we bought during covid and never used.

The 18:6 has been ok for the last two days. Except having to drink black coffee in the morning so I’m going to try some fruity green teas.

I eat dinner at 7pm then nothing ( ie no calories ) until 1:30pm the next day.
Today I had six black coffees
melon and strawberries
Salad sandwiches on brown
Two poached eggs with steamed mushrooms and half an avocado

Exercise. I climbed the scaffolding up and down all day
( haven’t dusted off the bike yet )

Hope everyone had a good day

LostaraYil · 10/07/2024 07:04

Morning. Yesterday was good, apart from a few chocolates after dinner. I haven't had time to work out this morning as well as walk the dogs so will try to do some weights this evening. Plan is salad for lunch, tuna as a snack, then a frittata for dinner because it's just DH and me, the kids are away/ out. It's a huge relief for me not having to cook for them, I'm sure when they properly leave I will lose a lot of weight because we won't need so much food in the house including snacks.

Needtodosomething25 · 10/07/2024 07:54

First two days down, staved off the hunger by drinking herbal tea through the eve. Realised that by taking my lunch I wasn't going for a walk at work so today's challenge is a walk and make a good food purchase! Feeling good so thanks for all the joint support!

braveandwellbehaved · 10/07/2024 07:56

Hi all! Sorry I'm just catching up after I took a little holiday up to see family (they live in Scotland) which was lovely - such a beautiful country. But ate a LOT of fudge, drank wine and had a lot of chocolate. Stagnating at 9 st 10 but happy that I haven't regained all the weight I lost since May!!!! But can't seem to get back on the wagon now - anytips? I think the issue is a Ikeep trying to copycat what I was doing back then when I need to look at life now and figure out how to work healthy eating into that. For example - my DDs have loads of birthday party and end of school year stuff going, and we have the summer holidays that will mean so much less structure for me!

braveandwellbehaved · 10/07/2024 08:14

Oops accidentally posted that before I was done! But yeah I just need to figure out a way that will allow me to keep losing in the stage of life I'm in now. In May I was working most days in the office which helped keep my hands off the fridge! Now I'm looking at 6 weeks of a few wee holidays and lots of time at the beach/play dates/park/soft play in between so I want to adapt and work towards my goal whilst being able to have an ice cream with my little girls if they want one - I don't want to miss out and be miserable and I want them to have healthy relationship to food so badly!

@Needtodosomething25 I feel like that too about photos - I look like the hulk and always so scruffy compared to my friends. I want to start making more of an effort with my hair and clothes (easier when I feel less chubby, which I do now compared to how I felt in April!).

@YouG0GlenCoco welcome!!!!
@MiaN congrats on your loss!
@Castlerigg that's the approach I want too - be strict some days and ease up when I want to LIVE LIFE which is important too and helps me stay consistent because I'm not miserable!

@Frankgodno well done on your loss that's amazing- 1 % fat loss! non-food treats for the win, they brighten up the day and are almost easier to enjoy when food is off the table somehow?

@Eumie ha you can't waste icecream! And sounds like you stayed balanced - that's so key for me, not freaking out when things diverge and not using it as an excuse to go crazy that day as a 'write off'

@StandingSideBySide welcome!!! baby weight here too after second DD.

Frankgodno · 10/07/2024 08:59

Thanks @braveandwellbehaved 😃
mine is baby weight also- my youngest is 4 😳 haha!!
im not sure i trust the body fat percentage reading but Ill take it!!

thanks @LuckyPlant those recipes and accounts look so good!! Im currently using green roasting tin book recipes and the food medic but always want to switch it up. I saw pinch of nom on my shelf the other day which i has forgotten about so might go back to that soon!!

strength workout done for today ✅
usual smoothie for breakfast and still on tofu & aubergine for lunch. Dinner today will be a chicken salad.
snacks: an apple and carrot sticks with dip.

lets do this !!!! Feeling positive 😃

wefly · 10/07/2024 13:56
