Tomorrow is a new month and I am ready to LOSE. I have a holiday in 2 months and I want to feel great. I probably have 10kg to lose.

Who's also feeling ready to get lean and healthy?

I personally love sharing "what I ate today" for accountability. So will do that everyday along with my total steps and calorie intake.

My starter daily goals are 8k steps a day and 1700 calories. Personally won't be weighing myself but feel free to post your goal weights and progress.

Feeling fired up and ready.

WHO IS WITH ME??!!!

Frankgodno · 10/07/2024 15:45

feeling hungry today and tempted by snacks…..!!! Theres a kitkat looking at me 👀 desperately trying to distract myself and keep busy!!

moosey89 · 10/07/2024 16:06

Made it to the gym for 25min today and on track for food - have saved 600 calories for movie night with my neighbour 😊 love having crisps and salsa and don't want to deprive myself of the good stuff!

Little under on steps but should still get to around 7k so that's not too bad.

Needtodosomething25 · 10/07/2024 16:27

Good day so far, walked to town for a tasty chicken all mixed rice and grains poke bowl, clocking up 6k steps at least. Bought oatcakes , boiled eggs and a couple of shredder bars for snacks. Had an apple too. Tip for choc bars, cut into tiny pieces with a knife and pop in a container, they last longer than munching the whole thing! These shredder are Highe in protein bars and quite tasty (got in superdrug , cheaper than grenade bars) simple dinner this eve so hopefully in target! We got this!!

Frankgodno · 10/07/2024 20:17

Ending the day on 1458 calories, the kit kat did not defeat me!!!
Hope everyone doing ok 👍🏻

@Needtodosomething25 im going to have a look out for shredder bars !!!

LuckyPlant · 10/07/2024 20:33

I've had a good day with food and then ruined my already precarious mood by looking at myself side on in the mirror. Feck sake. But then I took my dog out for a walk and we met three of her favourite people along the way. It's impossible to stay grumpy when your gangly hound is having butt rubs by a passer-by on the street.

Frankgodno · 11/07/2024 08:10

Morning Everyone, how are we all?

I am feeling tired today! Rest day on my workout plan so have done 30 min stretching this morning.

I put on some work trousers that are usually a tiny bit tight, and they are starting to feel looser!! Yay!

lets have a good day 😃

YouG0GlenCoco · 11/07/2024 09:01

Fell off the wagon a bit last night but not beating myself up, just starting afresh today with porridge for breakfast 👍

Frankgodno · 11/07/2024 11:09

Well done @YouG0GlenCoco thats the most important bit, drawing a line and getting back on it. Realistically we will all fall off at some point and I certainly find it easy for it to spiral and then I give up.

dont give up 🥰 you can do it!!

dare i say - you go glen coco 🤣

moosey89 · 11/07/2024 11:17

@YouG0GlenCoco that's exactly the right attitude! One slip doesn't make everything else suddenly not worthwhile, just like one gym session or run doesn't make you amazingly fit haha

I'm in a similar position - a deliberate slip last night with crisps and donuts for movie night, back on it today ☺️

gohomeroger1 · 11/07/2024 11:44

Can I join ? Started last Sunday so a week into July

7/7/2024 - 14st 8

I need to lose 2 stone but want to lose at least one stone by my 40th birthday in November

StandingSideBySide · 11/07/2024 12:54

Thanks for the welcome @braveandwellbehaved ……. Embarrassing admition alert. My babies are now 20 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Had a disaster yesterday diet wise.
Got stuck on the M25, think everyone was rushing back for the match. So my journey home was doubled to 3hours. Ate nothing till I got home to find dh and 3 sons and loads of snacks watching the match.
So yesterday I had
A couple of pots of black coffee
about ( I have no idea as it was a tense game so wasn’t counting 🤯) half a packet of Jaffa cakes and 10 chocolate fingers
2 packets of crisps
A bottle of hobgoblin

Exercise….I’m guessing singing in the car doesn’t count 🙃

Not my finest hour😟
But we won 🥳. Rather it was Ireland but hayho

KillersQueen · 11/07/2024 17:33

Hello! Having a good day, well within my calories and did a strength class this morning. Really need to get out for a walk to hit my steps target, will hopefully do that after dinner 👍
Welcome to the new losers!

YouG0GlenCoco · 11/07/2024 20:55

Thank you @frankgodno and @moosey89! I feel like I had another win tonight, made pasta bake and garlic flat bread (all calories accounted for in the app!) There was left over garlic bread and I so nearly picked it up and ate it but I resisted!

Well done to everyone on your wins too!

LostaraYil · 11/07/2024 22:12

Decent day today, although the cakes at work are my downfall. Good day otherwise regarding food, and I did a leg workout as well as walking the dogs. Tomorrow is a work night out so I'll have a few drinks but food wise it shouldn't be too bad.

Needtodosomething25 · 11/07/2024 22:16

@StandingSideBySide in fairness, it wasn't a normal day! It's just one day, back to it!

StandingSideBySide · 12/07/2024 00:16

So today
green tees and a pot of coffee during the starve hours

fruit bowl of melon, grapes and an orange
chickpea curry
broccolli soup ( just steamed broccoli with stock water ) with tsp yeast flakes
a few walnuts

dusted off that exercise bike and did half an hour

Im getting used to the starve hours now but need to find a good green tea with no calories as I’m not mad about the plain stuff.

Hi @YouG0GlenCoco what app are you using?

wefly · 12/07/2024 05:57

Hey everyone,

Bit of a write off day for me yesterday as was at a work event and lots of train station food.

Back on it today. I'm going to aim for 100% unprocessed and 1600 cals.

Also going to gym and swim this evening after kids are in bed.

How are you all feeling about today?

OP posts:
YouG0GlenCoco · 12/07/2024 06:33

@standingsidebyside it's the Nutracheck app 😊

LuckyPlant · 12/07/2024 06:54

Feeling good wefly! It's going to be a busy workday with no time for lunch (I could make time but then I'd finish late). I'm going to spend those lunch calories on a generous gin when I get home and a "home made" pizza (have the base, will chuck toppings on).

MadameMassiveSalad · 12/07/2024 07:15

Hello can I join you please?

I've been looking at the weightloss drugs threads & although it's very tempting, I can't help but feel I need to give it more of a go without, as the side effects are pretty horrible.

I have 3.5 stone to lose.
It's crept on over the last decade.
This feels like a marathon not a sprint.

I have a very sedentary job WFH
so going to build in more exercise.

I eat healthily and am trying to eat less / snack less and stick to very small amounts of alcohol at weekends as I find it hard to cut completely so, a glass of wine rather than none.

Starting weight 14st 5
Target weight 11st

BMI is 30.6

The best weight for my height is between 8 stone 10 pounds and 11 stone 10 pounds - according to NHS.

Holiday coming up in August so shifting some weight before then would be amazing!

I am starting with a PT this morning. Being 48yrs old and perimenopausal means the DOMS is really bad.

Wish me luck! 🍀

Eumie · 12/07/2024 07:51

Hi all! Sounds like everyone is really trying hard, and I’m so impressed with everyone who recovers from setbacks! It’s so easy to throw in the towel, and it takes real strength to get back on track!

I’ve been doing okay, last two days have been higher cal as I’ve had to have lunch out, but I’ve done my best. My weight is fluctuating a lot this week which always happens at this point in my cycle. I just need to keep going and push through!

Needtodosomething25 · 12/07/2024 10:29

@MadameMassiveSalad (love your name!) welcome, and yes ikwym about all the drug threads, but I reckon healthy eating needs to be at the heart of it and would be easier to maintain for life if you can get into good habits? That's what I'm hoping for me lol! We're all here for ideas and support. The first bit is making a start so well done! Take it as you go and don't beat yourself up if you have an off day. You have a goal but maybe break it down?

MadameMassiveSalad · 12/07/2024 10:54

Thanks @Needtodosomething25
I've decided my money is better spent on a PT!

I know what I need to do to lose weight & to be honest just need to do it.

It was a great first gym session & am feeling virtuous now. Goes SO much faster with a PT and is certainly more effective!

Trying to decide what to eat for a healthy protein full lunch 🥗

YouG0GlenCoco · 12/07/2024 11:45

@LuckyPlant that sounds like a perfect Friday dinner! I love when you can still have those treats within your calorie allowance, it goes to show that sometimes when we feel like we might have 'failed' it might not have been as many calories as we thought. Counting them definitely works best for me.

Well done @MadameMassiveSalad on your first PT session!

@Eumie do you use anything to track your cycle? I'm interested in seeing if there's a pattern to my overall motivation and mental attitude linked to my cycle!
