Anyone else out there with 5 plus stones to lose? Who fancies doing a weekly weigh in with me?

sandramaryb · 08/04/2008 20:06

I have got really overweight in the last couple of years and would love to meet some others who might be trying to cut down but not exactly dieting. Where do you start when there is so much to lose? Any tips on evening snacking? TIA

Jennie, nice to be getting paid to do exercise. I might even consider if someone would pay me for it! I have got to sort myself out with exercise - my new resolution!

Have just sorted out my wardrobe and I am pleased to report nothing fits!!!!! Tried on a jumper that I wore a lot last winter and it looks like a dress, no actually, a tent! My ds got into it with me and there would have been room enough for the whole family. Think I will keep it and my largest pair of jeans to remind me what not to do!

jenniebee · 03/07/2008 19:42

Tell me about it, now i have no excuse to sit on my arse! Well done for weight loss, i cant wait to chuck all of my wardrobe out but i've only just started so a veeerrrrryy long way to go. all be worth it tho.

Tas1 · 04/07/2008 13:20

Hi everyone,
I have more than 5 stone to loose (I'm embaraced to say how many more)please can I join your weigh in.
I'm going to do the Slimming World diet as I have done this before and it worked for me then.
When do you weigh in?

RGPargy · 04/07/2008 16:51

Hi Tas and welcome! Please dont feel embarrassed about your weight - we are all in the same boat here after all!

Good luck with joining SW. When are you taking the plunge? As for weigh-ins, we dont have a set day on here. We just report back when we've had our slimming club weigh-in on whatever day that might be (if you're in a club) and then adjust "the list" accordingly. The list basically comprises of your name, your loss (or gain!) this week and your total loss.

Here's the most recent list so you can add yourself to it (copy and paste it) when you're ready. Good luck!

Hi Girls..been busy with kitchen last few days so not been on much..am off for bath then i can start putting all my things back in cupboards..am v.excited..but i can hear dp downstairs with his tail between his legs(metaphorically mind) putting things away..he has been an arse tonight!..but what he doesnt understand is I WANTED to put the things away, its not a chore, it only the second time in 13 year ive had a brand new kitchen(first was brand new, very first house)..so he's more in bad books now, cos he's spoiled my fun!

not took tabs since tues as havent had time to get prescription put in and i CAN tell, im still not eating lots, but i could if i wanted as i dont feel as full!..so there you go, now i know they DO work!...whole kitche should be finished tuesday night, so can start eating properly again then

HAve a lovely weekend everyone.x

justRia · 04/07/2008 20:04

Hi guys, slipped again. DH going into hospital tomorrow so a bit stressy.

Got my bloods results, my calcium is low and I have to repeat in 2 weeks. Don't suppose that explains why I'm fat though.

hi tas, welcome.

RGPargy · 04/07/2008 20:36

Pink - oooooooo organising the kitchen is DEFFO the woman's (or whoever does the cooking) job!!

Ria - Hope all goes will with DH.

justRia · 04/07/2008 22:15

Thanks RG. Tis not helpful diet-wise though. (though with a bit of luck there will be a "sucking in of breath" when/if he is weighed and he might be more self-motivated when he gets back. We are both too easily swayed by crap food)

RE kitchen organisation, I quite enjoy re-organising our kitchen when DH is at work so he can't ind anything wheh he gets back. Tis V funny when he can't find the kettle...

justRia · 04/07/2008 22:17

that should say FIND.

I am pink. I would love a new kitchen (so would DH, but he would like a Gordon Ramsey chefs-only upstairs kitchen and then another one for me to cok "family" meals in as Gordon has for his wife. No need on my account

RGPargy · 05/07/2008 14:35

Oh i DREAM of having a new kitchen!! Every single kitchen in all the houses i've lived in have all been badly designed and it's sooo infuriating! I'm sure half the time the kitchens are designed by men who will, half the time, have no idea of logical placement etc. at you Pink!!

PinkChick · 05/07/2008 20:26

hiya girls, well you wont be so when i tell you we HAD to get a new kitchen because we had a flood....AT THE BEGINNING OF MARCH and its only now being sorted!..bloody insurance!..anyway, i totally re-arranged what dp had done and was up till 12.30 AM unpacking all the stuff!...was still not happy with it, so after shopping this morn, i re-aranged some of the cupboards AGAIN!..and no doubt that will hapen another 3-4 times before im happy with it all..i seem to have much more space now, even though we have replaced tall boy with 4 cupboards=similar size space, so cant fathom????...been and bouhgt my lovely new microwave, kettle and toaster today, all stainless steel, very gordon ramsey proffesional looking ones(with price tag to match...hello mr visa card..they look fabadoodle tough..cant wait for tiling to be done monday/tues, i lurve it..still dont know how to work oven though...will have to get descructions out!

Anyway..food....today had shreddies for brekkie
chicken breast sandwhich for lunch and grilled steak, mushroom and chips[oops] for tea with strawberries and cream for afters (went out for tea, dp ate most of my chips and half the steak and dd ate all but one of my strawberries and cream so i dont feel so bad)..and am stuffed

hope everyone is having a lovely weekend???.xx

justRia · 06/07/2008 10:15

for your flood pink, obviously not of that. We are very lucky here but only a couple of miles away was devastated last summer, I think some people are still waiting to get back into their houses.

Guess what! My motivation is back!!! (for now...) I think DH and I could both do to change a few things (he has to have more tests as yesterdays results were fine, and a healthier diet can only help, same for my blood tests), also maybe I could lose 1/2 stone by the 27th (DS3s christening)?

Hope everyone's weekend is going well

jaz236 · 06/07/2008 15:05

id love a huge big kitchen and a table seated for 12 and i entertain every nite - pure bliss, would have to have cleaners though - oh and id love to bake all day

Aero · 06/07/2008 23:07

Hi folks. I only managed half a lb this week, so total loss now 18lbs. My parents are visiting this weekend though, so am taking a little ww holiday. BBQs and eating out a lot do little for my waistline! (Not to mention the gorgeous Thai takeaway we had delivered last night .

Not going to go next week to give myself time to get back on track after they leave on Tuesday.

I have an exam next weekend too, so it's likely to be a stressy week. I don't really want to be cross with myself post weigh-in, so best leave it a week I think. Will get back to normal on Tuesday, be good all week, do exam, then hopefully the following week, things will look better on the scales!

justRia · 06/07/2008 23:47

bugger, bugger, bugger. My good intentions stayed with me til 9.30pm when DS1 announced he needed his play costume for tomorrow. Cue stress eating and glass of wine. It's so stupid. I had such a good day too (as did DH cos I'm putting the food in front of him and he's eating it).

Tomorrow is a new day.

well done aero, sounds like a good plan.

justRia · 07/07/2008 11:16

Back on track and feeling bettr

RGPargy · 07/07/2008 11:58

Hi everyone. Well done on the losses, even if they were small. A loss is a loss after all!!

Now i'm going to make you all pig sick. I went for my weigh in today and i've lost 6.5lbs!!!! I have NO idea how i've managed to do that especially as i've gone over on my points most days too! I'm wondering if it's something to do with DD not wanting to BF from me and has therefore only been having a couple of sips from each side and then really doesn't want to know.

So anyway, i've updated the list!

Ags -5 lbs -67 lbs
BananaKnickers -4.5lbs -4.5lbs

justRia · 07/07/2008 13:56

RG. Well done you. a bit though!

PinkChick · 07/07/2008 14:07

WOW Rg well done chick!..havnt been weighed today (yeah check me out!), unsure if to actually wait till once a fortnight as nurse does as my scales are diff from hers and i weigh more on mine, so can be confusing for me?..i can really tell now though and can see changes..esp in my middle !..might go and have sneaky hop on now before school run...........
