Anyone else out there with 5 plus stones to lose? Who fancies doing a weekly weigh in with me?

I have got really overweight in the last couple of years and would love to meet some others who might be trying to cut down but not exactly dieting. Where do you start when there is so much to lose? Any tips on evening snacking? TIA

Do you feel ok within yourself? I think possibly you should go and visit your gp or go to a weightwatchers group and speak to the leader. Does sound like a hell of a lot of weight though, If you have been doing it sensibly then its fine. My friend she did the no points diet just ate loads of veg and the weight dropped off her, could be the same for you>?

KelaH · 29/06/2008 11:13

I feel fine, might go the gp if it carries on like this though. But I will be weaning DD in a few weeks, so once I am bf less it will probably slow down anyway.

justRia · 29/06/2008 12:55

I think the best thing they could design is a "will power tablet", not something to make us lose weight but something to keep ME on the straight and narrow.

I do agree that buying a banned drug and taking 5x the dose is probably a bad idea, must be awful for her family. I suppose it's a big step to go to the GP and ask for help too. But at least GPs should know what they're doing

Must go - off to DMs for BBQ. was ill yesterday so shouldn't eat too much, have a good day guys

dragonbaby · 29/06/2008 13:00

im doing ww points i find it really easy as i have 6 children its the easist one as i can grab a sandwhich and point it up ive lost 6lb scince restarting after having my ds 5 monyhs ago, before that id lost 3 stone

jaz236 · 29/06/2008 18:21

OH MY GAWD U HAVE SIX CHILDREN - HWHATS THAT LIKE!! IM STRUGGLING WITH ONE!

PinkChick · 29/06/2008 19:51

Hi All
KelaH, that is a huge amount of weight to lose, but if you feel well and if youa re eating lots of veg, drinking lots of water and only eating low fat things, then it may just be how you lsoe it? do you have a lot to lose? as with me, b'cause i have over 6 stone ideally, i lose lots when i try..however, you did copy and paste the old weigh loss' , so you need to go on the naughty step for 3 mins as ive lost 16lb not 12..., mine came off v.quick first 3 weeks but this week ahs been hell(full kitchen ripped out) so have been trying but HAVE had some takaways as im really just too tired after finisheing work then cleaning the whole house of dust and rubble ready for work the next day..
My weight has dropped slihgtly tho so and i cant get weighed till tues this weeka s nurse not in mon, so may be able to shift that extra 1lb i wanted off

RGPargy · 29/06/2008 22:33

hi everyone!

Dragon - wow, six kids?!! That's amazing!

Kelah - that's a big loss in just 11 weeks. Perhaps just pop along to your GP and/or speak to your WW leader to make sure that everything's fine and dandy. I'm sure it is, but better safe than sorry and all that!

Well, last night i went out on the town with DP (the grandparents babysat for us) and we had a great time! It's the first time we've been out as a drinking couple for about 18 months so it was long overdue! We only went to a pub that has live bands, but there was six of us altogether and we just had such a laugh.

Not so funny however was waking up to DD at 6.20am after going to bed around 2.30am!! I'm soooooo tired now! Oh well, it's all swings and roundabouts i spose!

Anyway, it's weigh day tomorrow and i really dont think i'll have lost anything, especially after all the Smirnoff Ices i drank last night. If anything i reckon i might have put on. I weighed myself this morning and i was 3lb heavier than normal so it's looking a bit grim.

Think i'll have to take stock of my snackages throughout the day and stop having bloody WW cakes, bars, crisps etc. Think i'm going to be brutal and just get loads of fruit in instead as it's faaaar cheaper on points (and faaaar cheaper than WW stuff too, no doubt!).

Wish me luck!

Hope you all had a fabbie weekend!

x

PinkChick · 30/06/2008 08:23

Morning..Rg glad you had a fab night out

Off to school then need to blitz house and new kitchen is being delivered today...just hopped on scales(even though my proper weigh in isnt till tomorrow with nurse) and since i went to see her two weeks ago ive lost a further 6lb..and i AM down to 15st 7lb..just what i wanted!...and my flabber is ghasted, what with the crap food(albeit not lots) ive had to eat this week due to alck of kitchen and hardly any excersize!!!...as kitchen is coming today im hoping by end of week, we'll be able to use it properly again even if tiling etc isnt quite finished!..off tos chool now, will pop in trhough day while cleaning this hovel!

jaz236 · 30/06/2008 09:00

rgpargy u see those ww cakes are lethal, i have now decided never to buy them and i have tried every single one, the victoria sponge and belgium cchoc and carrot cake adn toffe and lemon ones being my fav - u see i cant make my mind up which is the ultimate best as they are all so moorish - in the end i had to knock it on the head!!

RGPargy · 30/06/2008 13:35

Well done Pink! Sounds like you're losing loads!

Well i had my weigh in today and i've put on bloody 2lbs!!! I know it's probably water retention because of excessive alcohol on Saturday (and the lack of a good hearty poo) but it doesn't stop me feeling a little disheartened and disappointed in myself. Still, i'm not going to give up or anything. I'll keep at it and watch what i eat more closely. It's not often i go out on benders so i'm sure it'll be fine by next week.

PinkChick · 30/06/2008 14:26

RG i would bet anything its the booze from alst night!!!..best thing is though, its ISquicker to lose(being liquid), so if you're ok this week, you will see the difference...still struggling here though, just had a low fat(micro) pizza but instead of oven chips had 2 (no butter) corn on cob..i AM trying..units going in now..am keeping eveything crossed its ALL done by friday!

RGPargy · 30/06/2008 14:27

Well done Pink! As long as you count the points tho, you could have had the butter on the corn on the cob! I personally cannot eat corn on the cob without butter on it... Mmmmm..... dribble

jaz236 · 30/06/2008 17:28

YUCK has anyone tried the sainsburys moroccon couscous - its disgusting it tastes like tea, and its costs more!

PinkChick · 30/06/2008 20:25

ta Rg..i also lurve butter thats why i stop all tgether!

have been sorely tempted by choc this weekend and today, dd has got some jaffa cakes in fridge(OH MY GOD< MY ABSOLUTE FAVE!!!) so i told builders to eat them today..but they didnt! buggers!

i did however have some banoffee pie at sil yesterday, so maybe its the fact i had something sweet, that my body is saying hmm that was nice GIVE ME SOME MORE NOW!??...well, hopefully will be good result at nurse in morn as i get weighed in nud and at nurse im fully clothed, so may show diff to what i think??

PinkChick · 30/06/2008 20:26

have never tried ANY couscous jaz??

Ags · 30/06/2008 21:13

Hello everyone and welcome to all the newcomers! I have had a very bad week this week. Loads of entertaining and treated it like it was my six monthly week off from dieting!

Glad everyone is still here and trying hard.
