Does anyone fancy joining a support thread for losing the final 10-14lb? I've lost over 20lb now, and since hitting the overweight/healthy weight borderline it's become so much harder! I've been gaining and losing the same 2lb for almost a fortnight. I'm doing calorie counting, eating healthier, drinking lots of water, and walking more.

SW: 11 stone 4
CW: 9 stone 10-11
GW: about 9 stone or slightly under

I have an event in early June and I'd really like to be comfortably around 9 stone 5 by then. I would also like to get back into my pre-Covid clothes!

@AhBiscuits @braveandwellbehaved Well done!

I am still hovering around 9 stone 7. I've been at 9 stone 6.8 twice, but it keeps going back up again. @Mynewnameis also hoping mine is water retention, due to cycle.

I started a new graph to chart daily fluctuations but it is not very encouraging. At least the trend line is slightly pointing downwards.

1.4lbs off this week.

SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 10st 8.8
GW: 10st 5
Lost: 41lbs
To go: 3.8lbs

Slowing getting there.

Menora · 24/05/2024 08:05

I have had a good loss this week. Have lost/gained like crazy but overall a 3.5lb loss in a month.

I’ve stopped recording fluctuations now and just weigh in again at a loss.

71kg
goal 67kg

braveandwellbehaved · 25/05/2024 16:54

@Mynewnameis i know how hard it is to not do that argh! It’s been my constant downfall- but I feel like the key is basically ignoring the ups if you know you’ve been in a calorie deficit then biologically you will be burning fat stores - and trust that even when the scale measures higher for wtv reason. As you’d aid water retention or wtv

@PlateauArgh pleateau argh indeed

i weight in at 10st1.8 today. Did have a night out last night with wine and today out to brunch for my friend’s bday so.. eek. Will try for a very light dinner tonight but I’m pretty sure I will fluctuate upwards tomorrow. I’m also in the latter half of my literal phase so I know I won’t feel great in a week’s time. I’m just still hoping that I could crack the 9st bracket by my event.

I’m already feeling 100x better in myself- that long plateau has been a really pain and I’ve felt really apathetic but I’m feeling so motivated now that Im finally seeing results! My face has slimmed down - I don’t even think I’ve lost that much weight! I’m going for my first run this evening with a running group.

@AhBiscuits congrats on your loss!!
@Menora thats a great way of doing it. I think being able to accept the fluctuations as just that is almost key to not sabotaging after a gain.

good luck everyone this weekend xxxx

PrimroseYellow1 · 26/05/2024 10:47

Hi everyone. Well done @AhBiscuits you’ve lost so much. @braveandwellbehaved so nice to look in the mirror and see some positive changes. I think I must have a round face as weight loss seems to suit it. I have never really felt I needed to ‘choose between my face or my waist’ or whatever that phrase is? I am more likely to have to choose between my legs and my tummy! Legs getting too slim but tummy still fat.

9st 4 lbs (started on this thread st 9st 9lbs). Eating a lot of cold roast chicken and cold beef slices with salad. Planning on having a really strict 2 weeks as I will be home alone on and off. DH has a few days away, kids at uni or on school trips. Aiming for another 7 lbs off.

braveandwellbehaved · 26/05/2024 10:57

10 st 2 this morning. Come onnnn 10 st 1 next week (fingers crossed!)

@PrimroseYellow1 well done on 5 lbs loss! Also want to have a very strict couple of weeks. Protein & salad is the way to go! I do the same- I have whatever I cook for the kids minus the card plus tons of salad. This reminds me I need to do a big shop with that in mind this week.

What is everyone else eating on a strict day?

loveyouradvice · 26/05/2024 16:06

Hey hey some great results - congrats all!

It's been a strange few months for me - so I've been just 6lbs to goal weight for a week or so in both March and April and I'm now back there again (11.8, I'm tall and curvy, so I feel good at 11.2) and my commitment is TO MAINTAIN THIS WEIGHT 11.8 THROUGH THE SUMMER. Yes, if a bit comes off Ill celebrate but I intend to focus on further loss in Sept/Oct if it doesn't

There's too much happening on the emotional front at the mo so I will see weight maintenance and embedding the habit of eating healthily as a triumph - focussing on 16:8 lots of veg, nuts, pulses, fish and great stuff for the gut, not much meat. That'll set me up for life! With the occasional longer fast which I now enjoy

Good luck to everyone else as we head into summer with increasingly gorgeous bodies!

braveandwellbehaved · 28/05/2024 08:16

Morning all! 10 st 1 today! Don't want to be greedy but oh I'd really really love to get down to the 9st bracket for my event, just..cause! So 'strict' ish week (because I go too strict I'll binge and that's awful). I have noticed a bit more food anxiety in the evenings which I really dislike. I don't want to think about food all the time, about weight all the time, being worried I'd eaten too much! so dumb.

@loveyouradvice I think your approach is really intelligent and sustainable. What's the point in trying to lose when it's not happening - best to try to 'cement' your loss and then get back on it in the autumn - who know what will happen if you're having fun in summer. Hope you're alright on the emotional front.

braveandwellbehaved · 29/05/2024 12:21

10 st today. Can't quite believe it's only been a month and weight has actually come off after plateau for so damn long.

PrimroseYellow1 · 29/05/2024 13:18

@braveandwellbehaved hurrah! Now come join me in the 9s.

VibeOnWithMyGalPals · 31/05/2024 09:14

I hadn’t weighed myself for a couple of weeks. Still 9 stone 5 pounds this morning. Hasn’t changed. I really don’t think I can get to 9 stone anymore without serious, serious restriction, and I just can’t be bothered to do that.

If only it was easy! Grin

PlateauArgh · 31/05/2024 11:23

I am stuck again! I have gone back UP to 9 stone 8 and it's just not budging. So much for getting to 9 stone 5 for the start of June...

OP posts:
loveyouradvice · 31/05/2024 14:48

@braveandwellbehaved congrats - you are SO CLOSE to the 9s... looking forward to your celebrating on here when you are

Darn @PlateauArgh but don't lose hope - Weight can so often be unpredictable wihtout it meaning anything.

I'm going to come on here each Friday and post my weight - good accountability for me! So 11.8 for 10 days now - every time I see that figure on the scales I cheer....

There will be lots of temptations over the summer - I just need to hold firm and if I overindulge, know and accept I'll need a few days to rebalance and to do it immediately...
.

braveandwellbehaved · 03/06/2024 13:31

9st 13 (and a half ha!) this morning whoaaaah. Can't quite believe it after quite a high calorie weekend. But someone did say on here (Sorry I forget who) that higher calories can jolt you into weight loss. Still waiting on my period so I'm still expecting some fluctuations but oh man I haven't been in the 9s for about... 6 Years? maybe more? My event is this Thursday and I have another one on the weekend so fingers crossed that I can

braveandwellbehaved · 03/06/2024 13:33

stay in the 9s if anything this week. been for a beautiful sunny walk and will run this evening to pick up some meds for my daughter at the pharmacy (antihistamines, she's fine, but poor thing is the only person with seasonal allergies in the family and I really feel for her!)

Wishing everyone success

PrimroseYellow1 · 03/06/2024 15:29

@braveandwellbehaved woohoo welcome to the 9s! It’s a great feeling when you get into a different weight bracket. It has been 6 years since I’ve cracked the 9s too. Perseverance pays off eventually.

henlake7 · 03/06/2024 15:47

It is nice to get to the 9s, isnt it!?😄
But now Im really worried I'll just pop back up into the 10s again!!LOL
Ive also got under a st to go at the moment.
SW 17st
CW 9st 13
GW 9st

Im actually trying not to be too strict on my eating as I found it really doesnt work well for me. A smaller calorie deficit so I can eat big meals means Im less likely to cave in and binge on rubbish.
But it does make weight loss very slow now....so just plodding along, exercising plenty and trying to eat in a way that is just slightly less then a maintenance routine.

braveandwellbehaved · 06/06/2024 12:27

@VibeOnWithMyGalPals is there a reason why you would want to be 9st? Do you feel better at that weight or is it jus the number that feels important? I’ve also change my expectations from lower 9s to 9 stone as I know if have to engage in long term strict restriction to be that thin and For me that could lead to disordered eating I think!

@PrimroseYellow1 ha thanjs it’s good to be here! Perseverance is key but also that at some point this month my brain just clicked inti gear and the restriction felt more like a gift than a punishment or anything. Which I don’t really know how to artificially generate that feeling you know it’s almost by chance?

@henlake7 aah we are the exact same weight that’s cool! I’m also preparing myself to fluctuate back up but the only way to stay consistent for me is to accept fluctuations as they come (instead of freaking out at all the ‘work’ and no outcome. I went through several cycles where I tried fasting and it didn’t work at all. I think strict restriction and deprivation just makes me obsessed and feel depressed and it’s just not worth it or sustainable either. Eating large volume meals has been key and allowing treats and extras if I want them

still 9 st 13 this morning after some slightly erratic eating (but not bingeing) so pleased!!

VibeOnWithMyGalPals · 06/06/2024 15:50

@braveandwellbehaved It’s not just about the number. I was 9 stone for about ten years, until about 2 years ago when I went back to work FT and went up to 10st 7. I’ve been losing it slowly this year, and am about 9.4 now.

I preferred being 9, but it would make me pretty miserable to try and get there again. I have a better balance now.

AhBiscuits · 07/06/2024 06:20

SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 10st 7.8
GW: 10st 5
Lost: 42lbs
To go: 2.8lbs

1lb off for me this week, 3 stone in total. Very close to my goal now but I think I want to go a bit lower and get to 10st. My goal was just to get my BMI into the healthy range. I feel pretty good about how I look now and don't want to go too low so as to make it unsustainable, but there's definitely still a fair bit of chub there to lose.

Menora · 07/06/2024 10:09

I’ve lost a little, but it’s quite fluctuating so I am not counting any chickens yet. I tend to only really agree I am at a certain weight when it has been a few days of consistent readings. I tend to hover and big drop then regain a little over and over. I’m in a drop phase 😂

I have 7lbs left till the goal I set but I am really still not happy with my stomach area, however I suspect this is something that can only be changed via cosmetic surgery and that’s not something I am interested in doing. My plan is to drop the 7lbs and see if I am happy with how it looks.

mostly all my visible fat is lower belly/pelvic area now. My inner thighs are a little loose but I think this is mostly loose skin rather than fat. I’m continuing to tone up the slightly saggy bum

My DP hates how critical I am of myself so I am trying to be more objective and focus on other positives. My apple health says I have very high vo2max for my age so I’m happy about this!

Im just stressed as I am committed to wearing a bikini on holiday in 6 weeks time!

NahThen · 07/06/2024 12:14

I've been stuck at 9st8 forever. I went up again to 9.10 but it's come back down. I was only aiming for 9st7lb so it's annoyingly close!

I think I probably need to drop my cals a bit but I don't think I can manage it 😳 focusing on protein and exercise for now and see if I can tone up a bit.

@Menora my DP is baffled to hear my criticisms of myself- it would be lovely if we saw ourselves through their eyes wouldn't it? I feel similarly about my tummy area, but I don't think losing further weight is going to change it, unless I went really hard. I could do with working on self esteem a bit instead but that feels even more difficult than losing weight!

AhBiscuits · 07/06/2024 12:37

It's really hard not to focus on the bits we don't like isn't it? I have a pretty wobbly belly, more than likely from yo-yoing in weight for 20 years, but the bit I really hate is my granny neck. The skin is quite loose and really ages me.

Menora · 07/06/2024 12:57

I am all over the skin care! I am getting those peptides, collagen, fake tan, factor 50 sun protection like mad!

How are you - or anyone else who uses it- finding collagen?

I’ve seen some collagen powder on Amazon that I was considering buying.
