Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

Our weekend was disappointing as Stevie Nicks concert cancelled 5 hrs before start. So stayed home, drank beer and ate snacks in front of TV for football.
I am 22.3 apparently.

Wow, that's a great BMI @Mum5net, my goal is similar. I'm currently on about 23.5-8

HoneyMobster · 11/07/2024 05:56

Not much to report from me but popping in to say hello to everyone who is still plugging away.

Maintaining nicely and trying to do it in a relatively relaxed manner. My approach is to be sensible as much as I can and not worry about 'off plan' days (unexpected cocktails etc).

I'm running the London 10k on Sunday so am thinking about eating to fuel for that. I'm hoping for a good time and that requires having good energy to turbo charge my legs 😂

Mum5net · 16/07/2024 13:58

HoneyMobster, hope the run was literally a walk in the park for you and you had fun and that unexpected cocktails become regular cocktails..
Spectacular fail with white flour, here. Decided white flour is worse than sugar.
I keep yo-yoing up a kg and then down again. Just praying hard that the string on my yo-yo doesn't ever snap ... (wish that was a euphemism for something!)

OP posts:
HoneyMobster · 16/07/2024 16:27

Not quite a walk on the park! Managed a PB of 51 mins and 42 secs. Two minutes off my previous PB. Feeling very pleased with myself.

Keep trying @Mum5net - up and down a kg is in reality maintaining. You know full well that weight can fluctuate naturally by up to a kg within a day!

Mum5net · 19/07/2024 14:13

Well done on the PB, HoneyMobster, that's a splendid time.
Managed 59.7 kg this morning. First time in the Fifties for two and a bit years...
How is everyone else doing?

OP posts:
HoneyMobster · 22/07/2024 06:12

Thanks @Mum5net - I managed a 5K PB at PARKRUN on Saturday as well. It's pretty obvious (but still surprising!) that it's easier to run faster when you're carrying less weight 😂

Well done on getting under 60kg. It's funny how these milestones take on such significance. I reckon you're on your way to a new one very soon....

notzoe · 23/07/2024 11:25

Hi everyone! Been a couple of weeks off for me as I was on holiday. Managed to gain around 4lbs which I don’t suppose is too bad.

I must admit I’m struggling to get back ‘on it’ now - the ‘I’ll start tomorrow’ trap has me well and truly stuck. Although I’m not enjoying how I’m feeling being back to snacking constantly on crisps and biscuits so I just need to keep that in mind. I feel much much better on one meal a day.

Will catch up on the thread later - I bet you’re all smashing it!

Mum5net · 27/07/2024 08:48

@notzoe 4lbs is decent considering it was a fortnight’s holiday. I bet you felt the benefit of having put in some effort ahead of your break.
Still trying to maintain here with a tiny eye on losing some more. Today I’m 59.9 but last Monday was 60.8 so I’m bobbing up and down.
I’ve a city break booked for early September so would like to be around 59.0 when I go…
I have a 41 day streak of doing 18000 steps. It’s a struggle but I think is the backbone of my efforts.
Not entirely sure how many of us are still here?
Shout out to you all!

Still here! Maintaining under 9 stone and have done so for 87 days. Weight seems to fluctuate between 8 stone 10 and 12.

Off on holiday in two weeks and I'm excited for a beach holiday where I'm happy with how I look. That's not happened in a very long time. I'm going to resist weighing myself further a few days when I return though!

Mum5net · 27/07/2024 15:03

So how many bikinis HoneyMobster? I don’t think I can turn that clock back.

OP posts:
StickyStones · 30/07/2024 19:40

I'm also back from holidays and gained three lbs. More or less back on it today but I find it a lot harder when the kids are off.

Yesterday I skipped lunch and went for a run. Today I had a small Greek salad and tzatziki for lunch and a vegetarian curry for dinner. A few gummy bears snuck in there too and an iced coffee. Going to go for another run tomorrow, hopefully I won't be as sluggish as I was yesterday after a 2.5 week break. Feeling motivated 🦾

@HoneyMobster that's brilliant that you're happy about being in a bikini. For the first time ever I really wasn't sure about wearing one, even though I'm not overweight at the moment, it's just that my tummy seems to have developed a blobby look that it never had before, that's what being overweight 40 and 2 kids will do to you!

But when I got to the pool on holidays all of my reservations disappeared, there really are all shapes and sizes in swimsuits!

StickyStones · 30/07/2024 19:42

@HoneyMobster

Also well done on the 10k PB, that's an excellent time, my PB is 65 minutes 😝 Don't think I'll ever get under 60

Mum5net · 01/08/2024 10:01

Hope your holiday was a good one @StickyStones . Are you finding the heat an issue with your motivation?
Living in the north, I got totally soaked this morning walking the dog.
I'm trying to embrace living my life slightly differently; embracing long term change in my food habits but it's so hard to switch to a better version.

My new month weigh in gave me 59.9 kg, so am holding steady, lowest i got to was 59.7 kg and highest was 61.3 kg. Averaged 19,029 steps on my FitBit. Chasing the steps each day is a bit stressful so going to try and get back into hula hoop tv watching. I have cut back on white flour. I've halved the amount of pasta I eat and baking treats are once a week. It's hard bloody work.

OP posts:
StickyStones · 01/08/2024 19:06

@Mum5net it's not too hot here so I'm finding I'm doing ok, I weighed again this morning and I'm only a half pound heavier than before holidays. I think overindulgence tends to take a while to show up on the scales for me, seems to be the same for when I'm trying to lose, seems to take ages before I see results.

That's a lot of steps each day, amazing. I just checked mine for today, not even 3k! I was at a funeral for the day so there was a lot of sitting.

And yeah, staying slim is bloody hard work. Did anyone see the thread about the woman who'd started mountjaro whose slim friend was horrible to her about it? The seemingly naturally slim 'friend' probably works very hard to stay slim and was miffed that someone might have an easy way out with an injection! I've often thought if only I could go on it for a month and then I'd be the perfect weight...not going to happen though Smile

Mum5net · 01/08/2024 21:23

Didn’t see that thread- I will try to find. Jealously is never a good look.
... I’ve often thought a month would suit me, too. However, I am grateful to save the ££ and additional chemicals. I reckon if you can do it ‘without’ then you should but the pills/injections will fast forward so many who truly struggle
Everyone has to ultimately make the lifestyle changes - whether pills or not -and that’s the killer, and the secret.

OP posts:
HoneyMobster · 02/08/2024 08:43

Totally agree that staying slim is hard. The thing is you need to accept a new 'normal'. There is no going back to former eating habits.

I've now managed 93 days at target though and am cautiously optimistic about my chances of keeping it off.

I'm continually experimenting. Adding in extra snacks and off piste days. I also still weigh daily and pull back if the scales look like they're creeping up. I look on this period as a learning process to set me up for the years ahead.

notzoe · 05/08/2024 12:40

How is everyone doing?

Stunned at you managing 18k steps per day @Mum5net. That is so impressive and must be doing your body and mind absolute wonders.

Hope all who have been on holiday had a lovely time. It’s funny because before we go I think we picture everyone else who will be at the pool/beach as being runway models and then we get there and are reminded it’s actually mostly just other people like us, in all shapes and sizes! I definitely overthink it before I go.

I have to admit I am here with my tail between my legs. I haven’t managed to get back into the way of things after my holiday and now just seem to be back to old habits that I am really struggling to break now. Even though it’s making me feel rubbish! I have ADHD and while I hadn’t actually noticed an improvement when on my one meal a day stint I can say for almost certain that I am noticing my symptoms a lot more now I am back onto constant sugary snacks. I’ve just put 2 and 2 together this morning so I am really hoping that that is what helps me buck up my ideas and get back to my one meal a day.

Thankfully no real gain from my few naughty week. I am still under post holiday weight.

Mum5net · 05/08/2024 17:16

@notzoe It's doing my head in as I keep looking at my FitBit then start pacing up and down the hall /stairs and back again...
Looks like you are headed for the one-meal a day stint, again, but how good are you still under post holiday weight.
If it's any help, I try to have a 'no sugar before 4pm ' rule. Not saying I stick to it every day but I try to acknowledge.

Mum5net · 14/08/2024 10:46

Not sure how many of us are still going?
Made it to 59.0 kg. Phew.
Today I was able to wear my M&S magic jeans size 10... I bought ages ago, but couldn't get into... but stupidly had removed the tag and so couldn't return
I have to say it's probably because of stress though rather than good habits and food choices ... hahah

Bubbleswithsqueak · 14/08/2024 23:10

I'm still going very very slowly. But I made it to 5kg! Thought it was 6, but son just informed me that the scales at our holiday cottage weigh a kg light... Bugger.
10kg by Christmas?

Mum5net · 15/08/2024 19:02

Well done @Bubbleswithsqueak I am at 6 kg so going at same pace. Those holiday scales would have upset me, too. Are you enjoying being 5 kg less? Wardrobe wise it’s good to have more options.

OP posts:
StickyStones · 15/08/2024 20:30

I'm still here! 👋🏼

I'm almost back to my pre-holiday weight, but I only lost 6/7lbs before my holiday. I'm trying to keep going, another 7lbs would be amazing.

That's great that you could wear your magic jeans, I love that 😀

Mum5net · 15/08/2024 21:55

Yay, @StickyStones . Fab to get back to pre- holiday weight. We can all do those 7 lbs together, even if it takes us to Xmas 😉

CommeIlFaut · 16/08/2024 08:56

I’m stilll here! Got down to my target of 60kg about two months ago. Two weeks of gorgeous food and wine and holiday saw me creep back to 61.5. But I’m not too worried- should get back on track in a month with IF (and less wine!)

I have taken up reformer Pilates so fully expect to look like Jane Fonda c. 1984. By Christmas!
