Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

I also want to know what KP is! I hate my upper arms, always have. I even hated them when my BMI was at 22 ten years ago but I think it must have upper arm body dysmorphia because my arms look perfect in any photos from back then

@notzoe congratulations!! What an achievement. You've worked so hard and you've been so consistent. Amazing.

I've a wedding in October...maybe I'll have lost my 10lbs by then...?

notzoe · 21/06/2024 08:39

Thank you!

KP is keratosis pilaris. I’ll attach a Google image.

You’ll have smashed your 10lbs well before then I am certain of it.

Thanks @notzoe - I've seen that before but didn't know I what it was called.

Another one loving wearing summer clothes and not missing the chubb rub. Glorious weather today and day off work so fitting and n Cardio Tennis this AM and a set of tennis with a friend later.

Still holding steady at maintenance ✔️

notzoe · 25/06/2024 12:06

How are you all doing this week?

First ever weekend loss for me this week I think! 10 stone 8.8 on Friday and 10 stone 8.4 yesterday (and today Sad).

Mum5net · 25/06/2024 14:26

Good going @notzoesounds like you are beginning to find your rhythm.
Bumping along at 60.7 kg after four days eating out with family and no access to scales...
This is the week I have to get to 59.9 kg so am trying hard.
Tonight is talapia fillets with tomato sauce and green veg. Need also to chase about 20k steps a day to help my monthly average. Not that sunny here.

OP posts:
Mum5net · 26/06/2024 12:03

So today at 60.4 kg.
Eight day streak of hitting 18k steps.
How is everyone else?

Still maintaining! Getting onto a bit of a groove I think with some good habits formed and 'relaxed' days when I need them. Not counting calories but focussing on protein as the main element of each meal.

My 'target' is to keep maintaining until my holiday in August! It's an AI one but a very sporty one as well - hopefully the two will balance each other out !

Mum5net · 26/06/2024 13:08

@HoneyMobster Essentially, I am
maintaining, too, with a very slow decline still going on in the background. I've pretty much realised that this is my new food groove ... I need to just accept that this is the way to live and make it a lifestyle habit.
Days of eating 3 crème eggs one after the other and then a plate of homemade scones are in the past.
Everything in moderation.
Chasing 18k steps a day is no fun when I'm at work. That's going to be my problem going forward. Less calories burned means smaller portions

Bubbleswithsqueak · 26/06/2024 22:53

@Mum5net with you on the food groove! I feel very similar - eating like this feels manageable long term, and I am still losing VERY slowly. I'm only going to lose 2.5 kg before July, so only semi fabulous, but much better than the definite upward trend I was on before...
Thank you for the motivation!

HoneyMobster · 27/06/2024 08:25

I had a bit of a revelation yesterday. I had a long day travelling and working. I was hot and tired when I got home but had a tennis game booked and not much time.

In the old days I would have had a bowl (or two) of cereal but I thought about how I felt and what my body actually needed. I made a quick cheese omelette with salad and ate a banana. Felt so much better! It's like a switch has flipped in my brain to connect the quality of the food I eat with how I will feel. Only took 50 years to work it out 😂

StickyStones · 27/06/2024 12:02

@HoneyMobster I literally just ate a bowl of muesli as my lunch...the penny has yet to drop with me on that one. It's just pure laziness on my part! I'll be 50 in 7 years so hopefully it'll have sunk in my then 🤔

@Mum5net it's been very very slow for me too. I'm nowhere near the 10lb goal. I'm losing but at a snail's pace. Probably about 4 lbs since this thread was started...when was that?? I don't even want to check your first post to find out! But hey ho, I need to get perspective, I need to play the long game, as you say.

My holiday is in two weeks so I might attempt an alcohol free weekend this weekend and I need to up the protein...

StickyStones · 28/06/2024 10:45

I've lost half a pound this week, yay progress! In total just shy of 5lbs lost since the start of April. I won't be winning any competitions for that, but it's better than nothing. I'm within normal BM range which I think makes losing so much more difficult.

Anyone else find their BMI range is crazy? I would be emaciated if I was even a stone above my lowest BMI weight

Yes! At 5 foot 7 I’d look unwell if I was at the lower end of healthy range I think.

HoneyMobster · 29/06/2024 08:31

I'm slap bang on the middle of the BMI range for my height. It's goes down another 1stone 1lb. I'm quite small framed ((based on wrist measurement). If I was a stone lighter I'd look terrible. Maybe it would be OK if I lost it all from my bum and thighs. But that's not the way I think it would happen!

Mum5net · 01/07/2024 10:00

Well done group, we've hit our first milestone date in our quest!
I think it's amazingly marvellous that quite a few of us are still here.
What a cohort, and I vote we just keep going. Together we are stronger.

I was 60.4 kg on Weds. On Sunday it had bounced up to 60.8 kg so I was literally inflated and deflated all at once!

After I stopped swearing, I took some decisive action. Across the whole day I ate two eggs, two boxes of raspberries and three slices of slow cooked brisket for my tea. What a struggle. I had to do chores all day to keep myself busy and away from the fridge.

And the good news is at weigh in this morning I was 60.1 kg.
So I did what being marvellous is all about, I hopped back off the scales, took my glasses and earings off and hopped back on ... and hey ho, I'm 60.0 kg,
Phew.
Can't lie, I'm feeling very aged this morning and am about to start work.

I'm only halfway to the goal, I've lost 4.4lb but this weekend I fit into a jumpsuit that I'd convinced myself had "shrunk in the wash" and it felt a million times better than all that cake I could have eaten over the past couple of months 😄

SpreadHummusNotHate · 02/07/2024 10:31

Day late weighing in but have just scraped to the target of 10lbs off!! Think I’m only losing about 0.5lb a week on average which is annoying but slow and steady is good I guess!!

Can’t believe that’s us now in July. It felt so far away when the thread started!

Hope you’re all doing ok. Love you taking your your earrings to weigh again OP.

I’m on holiday this week and am desperate to get another 2lbs off to get me to a whole stone loss but I don’t see it happening!

StickyStones · 02/07/2024 13:22

There are some fantastic losses here. @Mum5net I am exactly the same with the weighing scales, everything comes off, it really does make a difference.

I've lost another 1/2 lb. It's so strange, every time I decide to lose weight it takes about two months before it actually starts shifting. I can never understand how some can consistently lose 1lb a week, it's very impressive!

I've my holiday in two weeks @notzoe , also desperate to lose another 2, so far today I've only had a coffee...going to have a protein shake now which should sustain me for a while.

Got a 5k run in yesterday and today. Going to try to do a run Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as well. I can do this!

CommeIlFaut · 02/07/2024 18:12

Well done Mum5net and all the other losers.

I think I remember you saying last month you were hoping to get down to 60 kg? Fantastic to have reached your goal.

My goal was also 60 kg by the end of June. I didn’t quite make that but I hopped on the scales this morning and measured 60 kg, took my bra off and had a wee and got down to 59.9!

It feels like quite an achievement because DD and I were in Paris for four days last week. Rather than my usual croissant binge, I ate pretty much what my Parisienne half sister ate and lost almost half a kilogram. Luckily, her usual regime doesn’t include a nice glass of chilled white wine every evening so it didn’t feel too austere.

I’m so pleased to be heading towards the middle of the healthy weight range, having been teetering right at the top at the beginning of April.

Itdjgsurchg · 02/07/2024 20:33

Well beginning of July and I didn’t hit my goal but still felt good at my sister’s wedding at the weekend. One month until my holiday so going to try and be good from now on. I’ve been so busy the last few weeks with lots of food and drinks involved so looking forward to eating healthier.

StickyStones · 03/07/2024 07:54

My BMI has gone from overweight 25.1 to normal 23.8. I'd love to get to 22.

StickyStones · 06/07/2024 10:05

I've lost another 1lb! Seems to be falling off me now. I ran 30k in total this week and didn't eat a whole lot so it's no surprise!

Taking a break from exercising and very restricted eating this weekend and back at it Monday-Thursday and then it's holiday time 💃🏻

Mum5net · 08/07/2024 09:20

I always smile when I read that people's clothes are easier to wear or they feel better in themselves. It's good to be part of a team all trying to head in the same direction.
Unimpressed with my casual snacking. I'm back up to 60.8 kg but hearing how everyone else is persevering is really helpful and motivational. New week, new effort.

StickyStones · 08/07/2024 13:18

I agree @Mum5net, it's nice to know there are others trying to lose a bit of weight.

Kind of expected but I'm up 3/4lb after the weekend of eating normally and wine on Friday and Saturday night. I'd say it'll go over the next few days if I go back to my diet. Got 10k in this morning, not sure I'll get out tomorrow as rain is predicted. This is the final push before I'm in a bikini on Saturday!

What's your BMI now @Mum5net?
