Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

I've been using the my fitness pal app, so you can record everything you eat and how many calories it is and what you have left to make sure you don't go over.
Go swimming if you have time. X

Thanks for the ongoing motivation everyone.
Conference season here, so struggling to keep protein levels up and beige crap down. But plodding onwards.
Don't think I'll make the 5kg by July, but I can maintain what I'm doing at the moment without feeling desperate that I'm missing out. Weights and steps are needed to make a difference, I think...
SW: 73kg
CW: 71kg
TW: 64kg

Thanks MUM5. I had a non scale win today - bought a couple of pairs of size 12 trousers. Only from TU at sainsburys (so who knows if they’re accurate sizes),but they fit and I was brave enough to put them in the trolly, so am well chuffed!

good luck at your health check, sparticle. Not quite being at your preferred weight will hopefully have a minimal impact on their algorithms 🤞.

Bad week for me last week! Took me all week to get back down to last Fridays (10th) weight of 10.11 after the weekend and then this morning am still 10.11 so now I feel I’m a full week behind schedule with this weight loss. Was desperate to get to 10.7 for my holiday but with only 3 weeks left I’m not sure I will.

Hope you’re all getting on ok and will catch up on the thread soon.

notzoe going around in circles is familiar... we will naturally be extending our marvellousness campaign into the summer...

Aaaagggh!! The 1lb I lost, bringing me closer to crossing that stone barrier, has now converted to a 3lb gain!!!!

Bit pissed off…

HoneyMobster · 18/06/2024 16:36

Do we think there are a fixed amount of lbs in the universe? Someone loses so someone else gains? Sounds like a great philosophical question....

HoneyMobster · 18/06/2024 16:37

I don't think that will make you feel any better though @BusyMummy001...

Mum5net · 18/06/2024 16:48

@BusyMummy001 @HoneyMobster I absolutely reckon there is a finite exchange of lbs and kgs going on across the world. I also believe it is the same with the temperature. So if someone is getting extra rays, somewhere else is getting extra rainfall.
However, the theory falls flat with births and deaths ...

LOL. Am hoping I’m retaining fluid (or something) in the heat!!

BusyMummy001 · 18/06/2024 17:10

But if someone is looking for their lost pounds, they’re welcome to have them back!

Mum5net · 19/06/2024 13:29

Just to let you know @BusyMummy001 I took one for the team and put on 1 kg overnight.

thanks, mate! 🤣

notzoe · 19/06/2024 13:39

I took someone’s 6oz today too! Hope it’s helped one of you out.

Paintedhat · 19/06/2024 15:14

Ha ha! I love this theory of when someone gains pounds, someone else loses them and vice versa. It certainly works in my household…. Though I’m assuming that’s because when I munch on all the chocolate and put weight on, there’s none left for my husband so he then loses weight!

I am willing all my pounds to the girl who made my life a misery in y11!!

Will you start a new thread @Mum5net even if this one isn't full? 😀

Mum5net · 19/06/2024 20:00

Shouldn’t we just keep going with this one as long as we can? I just meant that most of us - except HoneyMobster - are still marvellous works in progress and will still be on our descent … but happy to do what others think. I suspect we are a cohort of about 15 which is a fine number.
@BusyMummy001 now you’ve started something… but I must have been very outspoken to have attracted the unwanted 10 kg I carried for so long

I'm happy to stick with this thread for now.

4lbs in total lost so far, pretty pathetic but I checked my weight from this date last year and I'm 2lbs heavier. Not too bad I suppose.

I think I send my weight off into the universe and it boomerangs back on to me about 6 months this later 😝

Still another 3 weeks until I'm on my holiday...another 3 lbs would be amazing...!

And I'll definitely be back here after my holiday. I'll need to undo my two weeks away and then some.

HoneyMobster · 19/06/2024 22:00

I like to think I'm still a marvellous work n progress @Mum5net - the maintenance struggle is real!

49 days under 9 stone. 53 days to my holiday. Can I keep my maintenance streak?

Mum5net · 19/06/2024 22:16

But if we don't count you as a 'complete' HoneyMobster then we haven't had any graduates. You obviously have to stay to complete your Masters.

I did it Fabulosers! Got a loss of over a pound this morning which takes me to a total loss of ten pounds! In 8 weeks so more or less bang on the recommended lb per week loss.

I hope you won’t boot me off the thread @Mum5net because I am not done here yet.

I need another two off before my holiday in just over two weeks. Then when I come back I’ll need to undo the damage, naturally.

Come on ladies we can do this!!

notzoe · 20/06/2024 08:06

Has anyone noticed any other benefits of improving their eating? I have quite bad KP on my arms and it’s definitely improved. I don’t know what has caused that because I still eat plenty of bread and dairy so wonder if it’s the fact I’m eating less sugar.

HoneyMobster · 20/06/2024 08:40

@notzoe - wonderful for you' not so good for the poor sod somewhere else in the world who is wondering where their extra 10lbs has come from 😂

What is KP?

I find when I eat 'better' the niggling joint pain in my hands disappears. I think it's the benefits of an 'anti-inflammatory' diet.

CommeIlFaut · 21/06/2024 07:26

notzoe I didn’t eat a bad diet, but now I eat a very very good diet. With occasional treats of course.

I have found that many of the niggling symptoms that built up during peri seem to have subsided a little. I definitely have less joint pain, I’m sleeping better, feel I have more energy and am less farty, which is a mercy to everyone I live with.

I haven’t dropped much weight over the last couple of weeks (just over half a kilo) but it seems that all the weight I have lost has gone from my middle and I’m now comfortably in size 12 trousers with with a bit of looseness around the waist rather than squeezed into them, which was not a good look.

It is absolutely lovely to be enjoying wearing the clothes. I love again.
