Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

can anyone tell me why this recipe has 2 syns for a green day. surely the only thing that needs synning is the tomatoe puree and that's only 1/2 a syn.

Furball · 29/04/2008 13:43

kidney beans

Furball · 29/04/2008 13:44

sorry kidney beans on red
and must be the mince on green - but could have as HE2, so free

Furball · 29/04/2008 13:45

I recon they've made a mistake on that one - honest gov!

nappyaddict · 29/04/2008 13:48

i thought mince but then it says add 6 syns if you're not using this as a healthy extra. from what i can see it should be free on green so i'm not going to count the syns for it in my allowance.

also is it only wholemeal pasta as a healthy extra on a red day or can i have white pasta?

Tommy · 29/04/2008 14:16

It's only free on green if you use Quorn mince - otherwise the mince counts as the syns if not using as HE (you could make wothout mince at all - just beans - healthier and still free on green)

I lost 4lbs today!

nappyaddict · 29/04/2008 14:22

but it says if not using as a healthy extra add 6 syns for the mince so it's obviously not including the mince in the 2 syn value. it must be wrong.

nappyaddict · 29/04/2008 14:25

oh i know why now. you are only allowed 85g mince as a healthy extra and divided by 4 it would be 113g each. duuuuuuh. feel silly now!!

Furball · 29/04/2008 14:52

NA - I would only put 4 x HE allowence in, that's what I do when cooking for dh and ds - we all get the same! dh hasn't cottoned on yet as still getting mahassive plate full but it's all sw friendly.

Furball · 29/04/2008 14:53

well done tommy! - it's a fabbola feeling isn't it?

nappyaddict · 29/04/2008 14:54

does anyone know how many syns the lidl egg creams are? the ones where you get 4 pots in a box.

toadette · 29/04/2008 14:59

Hope your run goes ok tonight, furball Good to see another runner too, letus! I was out running at the weekend, just over 5k in the morning then about 3k in the evening. Heading out again tomorrow night for another short but hilly run. I am normally a 5k-er but would love to do a 10k this year, will see how it goes... (Also unlocked the "free jogging" on the wii fit this morning and "ran" 3.5k on it this morning).

I have weigh-in tonight, eek!

toadette · 29/04/2008 14:59

Well done, Tommy, 4lbs yayyyyyyy!!!!

Sorry NA, don't know the syns for those.

sticktoit · 29/04/2008 15:49

Lovin' the jogging on wii-fit

But DP has got the new Xbox 360 game Grand Theft Auto so no wii-fit while he's home......unless it goes in the bedroom I'll be like a teenager playing games in my room again

Got real junk food cravings today but not caving in! Went to aerobics this morning too!

So hope my motivation stays strong!

toadette · 29/04/2008 18:18

Got my half-stone award, yeahhhhh!!!! 2.5lbs off this week.

sticktoit · 29/04/2008 18:28

Go toady - go toady - go toady!

lechuga · 29/04/2008 19:44

Hi there,
do any of you peeps who go to class know whether you can "double your Healthy Extras" and just have one if you know what I mean. For example instead of having 1 bag of Ryvita minis and 28g of Specail K sustain could I have 2 bags of Ryvitas or 56g of Special K??

thanks x

Furball · 29/04/2008 19:50

I think you can, I asked last week about having 2 x milk for HE1 and the answer was yes.

nikkid21 · 29/04/2008 19:52

1/2 pound off this week

Am feeling v. frustrated as it's so slow and I desparatley want to lose that piddly 2 1/2 pounds to get target. Was almost in tears at group because it's so annoying.

I had a big slip on Friday last week (chinese, wine & chocolate) but calculated the syns and then made sure that I kept within 70 for the week. Consultant doesn't think that i'm eating enough for the amount of exercise that I do so wants me to keep a diary to hand in this week.

I've being doing this since September and still don't get why I should eat more to lose weight. Hope everyone else had a better weigh in.

BouncingTurtle · 29/04/2008 19:54

Some great weight losses there.

I've lost half a pound which is good since I've only been back on plan since Saturday.
Nikki - sorry that you seem to be sticking, have you asked about Fast Forward?

toadette · 29/04/2008 20:08

lechuga, I think you can too - our consultant said it was ok to do this but to be very careful about doubling HEb bread.

Nikkid, well done on the 0.5, it's still going down albeit in small steps Are you eating enough to stop your body hanging onto to every surplus calorie? Or maybe your body is toning up with the exercise and it's showing in inches but not on the scales?

well done Bt too

Right I'm off to the twilight zone, chinese takeaway awaits, yum

nikkid21 · 29/04/2008 21:13

Well done bt

I think that you may be right Toadette - it is showing in inches as I started off as a 16 top 18 bottom and am now down to a 12 top 14 bottom. I did try some Primark skirts on yesterday and wasn't far off of a 12.

I know that i'm just obsessing over the numbers. Taht's it for the pity party tonight. It's my birthday tomorrow so i'm going to wake up a new, enthused women

nikkid21 · 29/04/2008 21:16

Nappy addict - I did look for you but they don't have an eating out reference book at my group. Sorry
