Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

i don't know if anyone else does this but i've found by drinking a big glass of water before and after each meal, it fills me up and stops me snacking between meals. i also eat half a grapefruit before each meal cos it's meant to help burn off the fat and fill you up a bit so you can have a smaller portion of lunch or dinner. i try not to eat starchy foods in the evening so instead i have meat or omelette or vegetables and loooooooads of salad.

Hey everyone!!! I'm back

Not been following plan since my birthday, when I was very norty, because I've not been feeling very well.
Anyway, new resolve now, have started a new food diary format which runs from Saturday to Saturday, so no more twilight zone for me!

Planning all my menus in advance to so hopefully will be more organised with the shopping.

mum2sons · 27/04/2008 10:53

Hi BouncingTurtle! Hope you had a good bday!

Having a fat day today. Wish i could just wake up slim.. although I am losing a lot on SW, I want a quick fix!

nappyaddict · 27/04/2008 11:01

i just had a toffee apple pastry for breakfast

BouncingTurtle · 27/04/2008 12:22

Nappyaddict - sounds nice though! I ate half a box of Quality Street last week

Mumto2sons - Don't we all? Did you watch that episode of Doctor Who with the cute little critters made from fat (adipose I think they were called). That would be fabulous, reckon I could have made 30 of them lol

mum2sons · 27/04/2008 12:44

I did,nt see that episode but am sure that I would double your 30

nappyaddict · 27/04/2008 13:35

does anyone know how many syns the lidl linessa fromage frais are?

Furball · 27/04/2008 14:19

all flavours 10gr pot = 2 syns nappyaddict

Furball · 27/04/2008 14:21

sorry NA - missed a zero off there - should be 100 gr pot!

nikkid21 · 27/04/2008 17:35

Has anyone else tried the new Jamie Oliver tomato & basil pasta sauce?

Found it in Tesco last week and it looked lower in calories than dolmio so I got a jar. It's really nice and i've just synned it - 3.5syns for the whole jar .

Doesn't taste the same when I make it myself with tinned toms so think that i'll be bulk buying some next week.

kid · 27/04/2008 18:08

I wonder if anyone can give me some recipes that they have tried and tested?
I like chicken and have enough of it in the freezer. I also like pasta and rice which I also have.
I need to do more cooking rather than just a quick chucked together (probably unhealthy) food.
I do buy the SW magazine, but when I try the recipes, I don't like them!

supersaluki · 27/04/2008 18:51

Hi everyone hope you have all had a good Sunday

mine started really well - huge veggie green 'fried' breakfast
then out for the day at the stitch and craft show at shepton mallett - that is where it all went wrong - I forgot to take my lunch - so I managed to drink three large bottles of water and then had a currant bun - which I am ashamed to say let to another - yes I know most likely a million syns but it was either that or a veggie burger and that would have been worse

so now having a really nice salad with quorn burgers tonight to be extra good

but its my birthday next weekend and my husband was seen carrying a rather large box to the car - he bought me an embroidery sewing machine

not to everyones taste I know but I love it

BouncingTurtle · 27/04/2008 19:35

Kid - do you have a slow cooker?

You can do this in a casserole dish as well, cook at Gas MArk 5 for about 1.5 hours.

Thrown into your slow cooker some diced chicken, a jar of passata, chopped onions, carrots, swede, turnip, celery, mixed herbs, bit of garlic. Lovely chicken stew. You can freeze it as well (I've got some in my freezer). It's nice with a HE Jacket spud.

WallOfSilence · 27/04/2008 20:12

Sounds like a nice pressie SS At least he knows what you're into & won't buy you a pair of red nylon stockings

We went out last night & I think I was good, but I bet if I thought about it I really wasn't!!!

Had a green day & started off with 2 poached eggs & a slice of toast for breakfast.

Starters: Melon with strawberries, grapes & a champagne sorbet

main: T bone steak with mushrooms & tomatoes, boiled potatoes. [Steak HEB]

(Also had a spoonful of my sisters leyonnaise potatoes, gorgeous! I've never tasted them before!!)

Dessert menu came & I asked if she could do me a fruit salad & she said yes, so I had a lovely bowl of fruit with a scoop of ice-cream

I was drinking rose wine water most of the night though I had about 4 small bottles of rose wine & a glass of white wine which someone bought me & I didn't want to refuse!!

Today has been an odd day too... had pineapple for breakfast, 2 boiled eggs for lunch & dh has gone to the local restaurant/take away to get the kids a pizza & I have ordered chicken with gravy & boiled potatoes with veg......

I have tried my best but I still bet I have weight on this week AGAIN!!!!

nappyaddict · 28/04/2008 01:48

what's this weeks password please?

Furball · 28/04/2008 06:46

pudding

nappyaddict · 28/04/2008 08:25

thanks

SWlurker · 28/04/2008 09:20

I have had a week off the waggon methinks. I'm not even telling you lot what I ate over the weekend

Things not looking brilliant for the coming week. I can't get to WI and am away for 3 days with work. I feel bloated and lethargic because of all the rubbish I've eaten and I have a busy week ahead - hardly ideal!

I have SW friendly food for a packed lunch today but have decided to stuff the diet for the next few days, but really really go for it when friday's here. I sort of intended to have one week more relaxed, but lack of forward planning means if I decided to get back into it as of now I'm setting myself up for failure tues/wed/thur, but I'm not going to let myself be off track for 2 whole weeks. I'm going to try a bit of portion control since I know the food isn't going to be SW friendly.

nappyaddict · 28/04/2008 13:56

does anyone know if you were trying to make a creamy sauce can you just used milk and cornflour cos i've got no fromage frais, quark or yoghurt.

Furball · 28/04/2008 13:58

you can - but you'd have to take it from your syn allowence

nappyaddict · 28/04/2008 13:59

what i mean is would it work though.

Furball · 28/04/2008 14:02

what sauce did you want to make? cos flour and milk would need some flavouring and would not taste of creamy

nappyaddict · 28/04/2008 14:12

a mushroom sauce for pasta and also chicken korma.

Furball · 28/04/2008 14:32

Mushroom sauce will be fine - just had chopped mushrooms to it.

Korma, probably not best with cream. or just have a tomatoey based sauce

nappyaddict · 28/04/2008 14:33

with the korma could i just use the coconut milk or would that not be enough to make it creamy?
