2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

I lost 60lbs last year.

Weighed in this morning and put back on 20lbs over December.
Not great.

This time period is when I was most successful last year, losing 40lbs between January and May. So if I repeat that I'll at least be 20lbs lower than my previous attempt.

thinktwice36 · 01/01/2024 16:40

i really want to do this. I hate myself and my appearance. Everything about my relationship with food is screwed.

I am too scared to weigh myself

Walkingbkwrm · 01/01/2024 16:52

I know the feeling @thinktwice36 - how about a measurement or two instead. I’m thinking of adding a waist measurement into weighing myself. Not loads of stuff as it’s too much hassle and I don’t do it.

afaloren · 01/01/2024 16:58

Yes, me please. I’ve about 5 stone to lose. I lost it before but had a nasty accident in 2020 which led to regain. Two stone by Easter would be excellent.

I’ll be calorie counting, exercising and trying to stay off the booze.

I'm joining again with a big but, I'm on holiday in a couple of days till the end of the month. I'm going to try and minimise gain but hoping if I can follow everyone's progress I might be motivated to behave a bit

easilydistracted1 · 01/01/2024 19:38

Completely have up on the first challenge as I was ill and in survival mode. Let's hope this one is more successful. I'm going to have a week of healthy eating then weigh in

LiveLoveLifeForever · 01/01/2024 19:41

Me, got about 3 stone to lose, possibly 3.5 now as not weighed since before Christmas and my jeans are definitely tighter now 🤣

Robocop91 · 01/01/2024 19:47

First weigh in

SW - 14st3
CW - 14st3
GW- 11st

PieonaBarm · 01/01/2024 20:56

I'll be on holiday at Easter so would like to loose as much as I can of the 2 stone before I go!! This would get me to just below my ideal weight.

Weighed this morning but my usual weigh in day is a Friday.

Start Weight - 13st 4.5lb

I won't be weighing now until Friday 12th.

I'll be calorie counting using nutracheck and 16:8 fasting with the occasional 24 hour fast.

Jeannie88 · 01/01/2024 20:56

Yes please! X

Seaitoverthere · 01/01/2024 20:59

I felt like that @thinktwice36 . I had a hospital appointment and asked them not to tell me my weight and was trying to lose it. The guy weighing me kindly didn’t say but then I got a letter afterwards and it was on there.

It was horrible seeing it written down but it spurred me on and I’m a stone less than I was at the start of November so I’m quite pleased it happened now. The suggestion of doing a couple of measurements is a good idea as alternative.

TheWhiteCat · 01/01/2024 20:59

Joining if that's okay - honestly I need to lose a hell of a lot more but 2 stone is a good start!

IncessantNameChanger · 01/01/2024 21:05

Oh can I join please? Not sure how I weigh. I will check that tomorrow. I'm going to set a walking goal per week. Need to de stress and lower my bp

CutiePatooties · 01/01/2024 21:47

SW- 15st 10

Easter goal- 13st 7

TW (by the end of the year) - 9st 7

I’ve already started yoga and a daily walk. I’ll increase the time I spend on these and start a skin care regime, drink water and take vitamins daily from tomorrow.

I’ll make sure I stick to the Monday weigh-ins, as I need something to hold me accountable!

Puffalicious · 01/01/2024 21:53

Hey all,

I'm joining you! I need your support & you sound like what I need.

I've put on 2.5 stone in the last 1.5/2 years & it's creeping on & on. I'm so unhappy- nothing fits & i look in the mirror & don't recognise myself.

I'm 52, newly on HRT & genuinely feel like I don't eat that much- absolutely confirmed by DH (he never puts on weight). I'm pescatarian & struggle to stay off the cards, but I must.

Plan:
IF (11am-6pm only)
2 main meals & an 11am high protein snack.
Cut most carbs.
As little sugar as I can.
Use MFP to chart calories.
Get back to fitness - swimming/ walking
Really want to start weights- I've heard the right programme can be great for weight loss & strength at my age- any advice gratefully received.

I haven't much time (2 DC, youngest is 12 & has significant ASN so takes up lots of time).

I weighed this morning & cried: 13st 7 lbs 5ft 5.5. But I need to do this, I must.

Puffalicious · 01/01/2024 21:55

Oh, & I'm a slow 🐌 loser. Easter is 12 weeks away, so if I lose a stone I'll be happy. Anything else is fabulous!

I need to resist getting demotivated when others lose much more- that's an achilles heel of mine.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 01/01/2024 22:00

I'll join. I'm 5 stones overweight and have been for years. Been through the weight management programme which didn't help as I know about portions and healthy eating and activity - but I don't do it.

I'm ADHD and I binge for a dopamine hit. I lost weight when I was on a stimulant medication but I can't get it now and I know I can mostly manage the symptoms if I exercise and sleep well.

So, after tomorrow (When I should have finished the last of the cheese and wine) I'll do fasting after dinner and daily exercise and planning.

The idea of 2 stones by Easter seems magical.

PotatoFan · 01/01/2024 22:04

It’s a bit of a reality check to me that I’m the heaviest one here by a massively long way, and people 6.5+ stones lighter than me but the same height are shocked at how much they weigh. I’d be elated to have some of these starting weights!

CoQ10 · 01/01/2024 22:11

TicketyBoo11 · 30/12/2023 23:07

I’m in. 1.5 stone has got to go for my joint health and my mental health..55 and PeriMeno and I need that mojo back.

Exactly the same for me.

I felt like that looking at another thread with folk at 10st wanting to lose 2 stone. I know everyone's journey is equally as valid, but it made me so depressed.

We're all here for you- first steps for many of us.

Exactly the same for me.

Yup, my mojo needs to return. I don't recognise myself.
