2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

For those u just starting. Keep going. I have been doing this since August and have lost over two stone already. It is hard when u see small losses or nothing and feel like giving up. If I had given up I will still be 13 stone. Keep going. U can do this.

Probably about 4 stone to lose but 2 would be an excellent start.
Going to

  • cut down on carbs and sugar -especially snacking
  • calorie count
  • 16:8 (only eating between 11.30am and 7.30pm)
  • Increase activity

I started on Thursday (28/12) and weighed 11st 13 so I'll use this as my starting weight.

SW - 11st 13lb
CW - 11st 11lb

My interim target is to get back to 10st 7lb where I was in the summer, and once I've managed that I'll take it from there. I'll be calorie counting.

Me too, will be low carbing and trying to eat 2 meals a day within a window. I know 16:8 works for me so well but I miss the toast and tea before bed too much!

Oh dear, the scales were not kind to me today! But I’m feeling really motivated. I’m going back to Slimming Wd which works for me and I’m restarting Couch to 5k which also worked for me in the past

I am incentivised to pop my son in his pushchair and to go for a morning walk!

I had a last hurrah yesterday, a baked camembert amonst other things, burnt the roof of my mouth so badly I have a blister. If that is not a sign from the gods to stop the nightly binge fest my current weight is!!

It's different strokes for different folks,l but ultimately, you have to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight, so whether you graze all day or only eat 3 meals with no snacking, you should be tracking your calories.

Thanks for the new thread! I was on the Christmas thread and lost enough to cancel out the Christmas gain - hopefully lose it and keep it off this time. I’ve got 5 stone I’d like to lose by the end of the year, and 24 weeks until I go on holiday so if I can be at the half way mark by then I will be very happy. We are finishing the cheese today so I will weigh in tomorrow. Good luck everyone x

I have been obese all of my adult life and I binge a lot and constantly think of food.
I need to change, I am so embarrassed of myself and very lazy at home which is another embarrassment.
I will calorie count on fat secret app.
On of my biggest problems is grazing at night rather than eating a proper meal.

I was heavier than you in the summer. I managed to lose 3,stones. Have put some on over December. I'm proof it can be done.
The first 2 stones were a slog but only then did I start to feel and look a bit different. That's when it became worth the effort
