2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

I'm in. Weight loss wise I need to lose over 5 stone, but 2 would mean I could fit into some of my clothes again. I'd especially like to be able to wear my work uniform again, I swapped to scrubs during COVID and unfortunately they're a lot more forgiving than a tunic, but even then I've had to size up.
I've got barely anything to wear outside of work at the moment which isn't helping how I feel about myself.
Self care - get to bed earlier. DH will be working away in the week soon so I'll have no excuse to stay up until past midnight. Little walks in my lunch break would be good, instead of sitting in my car listening to the radio I'll get some headphones.

Back again! Will probably lurk more than I post but it is really motivating!

Starting weight back in sept: 12 stone 7

Weight today: 10 stone 13

Goal weight: 8 stone 7

Height: 5 foot 2 so my goal weight is bang in the middle of a healthy bmi.

Age 44 (I think age makes a difference 😂)

Extra bit - actually loads - this is all part of a glow up! Also joined the princessing thread - been focusing on the basics such as showering every day and getting dressed 😂 but 2024 is going to see extra stuff like IPL and manicures etc. it all feels like a lot at the moment...

I have been keeping a diary of my journey starting from September - I weigh in daily and check body fat and that gets locked. Then track my "beauty habits" and my food for the day. Food wise my calories intake is quite low - seems to be necessary for me for some reason. I don't track calories religiously but reckon it's around 1300 a day other than Fridays when we have a great night. Actually don't weigh in or track anything over the weekend so have a break.

Exercise wise I work out with a trainer four days a week. 2024 I want to start doing some kind of movement on the other days so I try to get more into a healthy mentality. Also this year going to start doing one new healthy recipe a week.

It's a lot but I feel excited about the year ahead - bring on Easter!

I would love to join 😊

DearMartha · 31/12/2023 13:21

I'm in! Got a trip planned for Easter and would love to feel healthier for it!

koalabearboombox · 31/12/2023 14:21

I'm in - I have 3st to lose to get into the healthy weight BMI category but I would love to lose an additional stone on top of that to get back to my healthiest ever weight. But that's wishful thinking right now - starting with the first 2 stone is my focus..WW fired up and first C25K tonight!

Lavenderosemary · 31/12/2023 15:08

I'm in! I've got two stone to lose. My plan is the 200 cal game - 6 x 200cal meals a day (this is very flexible as required!) and the challenge is to make the meals as big and filling and tasty as possible. I use huel as my go-to if i cant make a meal, but with double the reccomended water added. I've also joined another thread on this - looking forward to seeing how the next month's go. :)

Melsy88 · 31/12/2023 15:22

Is anyone not having a final blow out/eat and drinking whatever they want today?!

twodogsandI · 31/12/2023 15:33

Definitely going to have some nice food tonight.

The really good thing about this is because I track my weight I could see the "damage" done by Xmas - I put on two pounds over Xmas/Boxing Day. One pound was obviously salt/water retention and it was gone by 28th. The second pound was I think actual weight but a couple of days back on the wagon and it also disappeared. So now I feel like I can indulge tonight and just follow the plan next week and it won't make any difference

This also helps me when I look ahead to what happens after the diet finishes? Then I will be maintaining my weight but I know I can have a day or so a week where I can eat a bit more unhealthily and it will sort itself out quite quickly

flyright · 31/12/2023 15:34

I'm in. Less/healthier snacking, less alcohol, C25K and fewer carbs. Out tonight, then bring it on!

I don't drink but intend to go full throttle on the last of the Christmas food tonight.

Walkingbkwrm · 31/12/2023 18:17

I’m in. Though I usually work in metric so it’s 12.7 for me (not such a nice round number). We still have a house full of snacks/leftovers but hoping the teen & pre teen can finish them off before school starts… Might need some willpower for the first week though. Anything not eaten by the 8th is being thrown.
Self care extra a lovely thought - think I will go for a foot massage as often have sore feet.

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 31/12/2023 18:34

@Melsy88 nope. Kept on track all over Christmas. And won’t give up now.

Guttedme · 31/12/2023 18:40

I’m in. It would be amazing to get under 16 or 15 stone in 2024. Started my journey November 2022 at 19 st 10

This very time last year after dieting 6 weeks I’d reached 17 st 13 this time a year on I’ve got to 17 st 6. I wore a top to weigh in yesterday that in October was a rather tight fit but yesterday was loose so it got me appreciating half a stone loss must mean something. I find it easier to diet in winter then summer 🙈

Mamafromthebeach · 01/01/2024 05:56

I would like to join please. I have between 4-5 stone to lose ( 5 stone gets me to healthy weight range but seems so far away 😢).

2 stone would be a wonderful start - honestly I would be happy with 1 stone!

I moved back to Australia last year so have just re-joined a diet program I have tried before and had success. I think I need the structure of a meal plan at least to start as I tried to just calorie count last year and got nowhere. It is the Total Wellbeing diet - not sure if available outside Oz - it is high protein/low GI carb.

My self-care goal is to read each night. I love reading but never give myself enough time to do so. Aim is 20 minutes each night.

look forward to seeing everyone’s progress.

GymWhale · 01/01/2024 05:56

Age: 39
Height: 5'7
Weight: 13st 2.8lbs

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 01/01/2024 06:34

So first Monday weigh in. I weigh everyday so mine goes up and down daily. Took a while to get used to seeing a higher number the next day.

sw- 13.1
cw- 10.12
gw- 9 stone.

Mamafromthebeach · 01/01/2024 06:48

1/1 Weigh in

sw: 16.12
cw: 16.12

TriceratopsRocks · 01/01/2024 07:01

This is perfect timing, although 2 stone by Easter is a bit daunting. A few years ago I lost 4.5 stone in a year (with WW). Last year was a hard one and circumstances meant I was no longer able to get to the gym. I also slipped back into old eating habits and in the last 18 months have put 3 stone back on. Sadly my back and knees can really tell! Losing 2 stone would put me back into healthy BMI range, but I really want to lose 2.5 stone. My goal for Easter would be 1.5 stone, but let's see how it goes! Current stats are:

Age: 53
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 13st
Final Goal: 10st 7lb

Woahyeahyeahyeah · 01/01/2024 07:14

I'm in! One stone lost last year, one more to go!
I found fasting 16:8 worked great for Me, with Calorie counting too (1400) Fallen off the Wagon for Christmas but back on it today! 👊

piscofrisco · 01/01/2024 07:17

I'm in. I've got two stone to lose. Will be starting tomorrow as that's when festive eating is officially over for me!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 01/01/2024 07:47

Yes please.

I'm 34yrs old. 5ft 7, 92.2it/203lbs/14st 7". Likely a size 16.

Have gained a lot of weight since having my daughter in May and struggling with no time to exercise and binge eating. Has to stop.

I'd love to get to a healthy BMI again (currently 31.8!).

I am a serial joiner of these types of threads but hoping this will be the one! I have actually done really well since the middle of November after a health scare and have lost a stone and bit already.

I have 10ish stone to lose and would love to do about 7 stone next year 🙏🏻

Not eating after dinner has really helped me lose the first stone, aswell as eating lots of high fibre, high protein meals, so i will continue with that. I do calorie count using nutracheck and i like going for a walk too.

I have a similar amount to lose, good to see I'm not the only one. I hope that breaking it down a little will help. I have a long haul flight and holiday at the end of March so a couple of stone off by then is my target to make me more comfortable in an airplane seat.
