2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

@needtoshrink yeah I know what you mean - my dad has type 2 diabetes and is waiting for a knee replacement. I know those are predispositions I'm heading towards unless I change my ways. I would like another child as well so hoping to make that easier on my body. It feels easier to focus on health rather than how I wished I looked, it's been a long process to accept myself!

Amazing well done on giving up drinking as well. You are smashing looking after yourself well!

Satincat · 16/02/2024 10:19

Well done to all who are sticking with it! I am trying to as well, although it's been hard as I've had some health tests and things going on this week which I've found a bit stressful, and it's been harder to keep focussed. I have at least eaten healthily (and no takeaways, no huge snack hauls, no drinks) but I have eaten a few more bits on top of healthy diet, ie choc bar, a packet of crisps etc, which is enough to not leave a deficit so there's been no real downwards shift on the scales.

However, despite the lack of scales progress, on the plus side at least I am still in and still committed Smile . Anyone else who's still here and still posting (or even reading) despite lack of progress, let's keep going, we can do it! Flowers

Had a sneaky pre-holiday weigh in this morning and I was a kilo lighter than Tuesday! Total loss 3.5kg in 3.5 weeks which I'm really happy with. I'm going to try and be vaguely sensible on holiday but not counting WW points. Probably a good meal as my dinner this evening was a McDonald's in the car! Definitely expecting a gain next week.

2024fit · 17/02/2024 16:48

Some great results here - so impressed that some people have lost a stone already.

I was weighing myself daily in January then took a 2 week break from weigh ins during which time Iate ok-ish but had 3 takeaways, and didn’t do much exercise. I got back on the scales on Valentine’s Day and was the same weight as 2 weeks earlier. Slightly less. So basically no overall change since the beginning of the year.

Currently on my period so eating a bit more sweet stuff but haven’t gone overboard. Hoping to do a 2 week break from sugar starting Monday.

Walkingbkwrm · 19/02/2024 07:29

0.8kg Gain this week for me very sadly. Feeling very demoralised as although it was half term with the exception of having a pudding on 1 meal out I thought I’d done quite a good job of staying on track :(. I can’t not have anything nice for months I won’t cope but that’s a really big impact :(.
Trying to get back into gear this week but not feeling too motivated- send me some encouragement please……

recklessgran · 19/02/2024 07:31

Morning all this weigh day Monday
Start weight15st 1lb
Today 14st 5.5lbs
That's another pathetic half pound down.
I am beyond frustrated. I know my underactive thyroid is scuppering my efforts but it's such a struggle with only 9.5 lbs down so far since new year. My only comfort is to imagine that loss as 19 packs of butter. Well done everyone for sticking with it, there are so many with great losses - so inspiring. Week 8 here we come. Let's all KOKO.

Spaceracers · 19/02/2024 08:00

SW: 12st 4 on 15 Jan
CW: 11st 9

Lost 1lb this week but the scales remained the same most of the week and perhaps would have lost more if I hadn't had pudding and a glass of wine on Saturday and a big lunch yesterday.

Feeling OK (a lb is a lb) but starting to feel quite restricted which caused me to go off at the weekend. Will try to take more steps this week as my daily step count is quite low!

chalkyc2 · 19/02/2024 08:02

Cautious post holiday weigh in this morning - not too bad after a week in the mountains! Now just over a stone down from 01/01, and just dipped below 11 stone - woohoo!!

01/01 - 12 st/76.2kg
19/02 - 10 st 13/69.6kg

I'm back on it with a vengeance this week - post winter holiday spring reset!! Let go!

ToddlerMumma · 19/02/2024 08:39

FFS, I'm going the wrong way!!

SW 14st 4lbs
CW 13st 12lbs
This week +2lbs

It was half term, we went away, I ate and drank to excess so it's not surprising. With 5 weeks left to go, my goal is 1 stone instead of 2. That will still be a good achievement for me. Keep going everyone!!

Apprenante · 19/02/2024 09:44

Starting weight 14 st 6.5lbs
Current weight 13st 3.8lbs
Loss this week 1.7lbs

Still sticking with 3 meals a day and occasionally a piece of fruit between meals - all recorded on MFP.

I can't see me being 12.6 by Easter. What a pity that Easter is so early this year! It's a double whammy as I'll be celebrating a big birthday (70) and spending a long weekend in France just before Easter - and it would be a crime not to eat some delicious food!

Well done to all of us. We're still here, trying the best we can even if things aren't always going to plan.⭐to us all.

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 19/02/2024 11:00

I'm still here but not weighing today as after a week of period, migraine, injury & insomnia I know I'll weight more than at the very start.

I'm proud that I tracked calories all the way through & interestingly that means I've noticed that despite feeling like I've eaten everything in sight I know I actually only went 2k over my allowance this week (which on paper would mean I'd still lose fat).

Anyway back on it this week trying to mix in some 24hr fasts, maybe longer if I sleep!

I'm really scared of reaching 50 still morbidly obese- after several viruses this winter my fitness has taken a hit & it's obvious to me that the extra ?50kg makes it far harder to get it back.

Anyway sorry for essay, this thread is really helping me & I hope it's helping others too.

Fluffygoon · 19/02/2024 11:30

Well done to everyone who’s still here! I found January fairly easy as I lived like a hermit then my weight went back up after meals out. I'm back to 11 St 8 which I was on the 5th Feb…. feeling more positive now so have a week of meals cooked from scratch and will be walking more as the weather’s meant to be better.
I don’t think I’ll be my goal weight by Easter, I’d be happy with below 11.

kirinm · 19/02/2024 11:42

I currently have awful DOMS from a personal training session yesterday so won't weigh. I think I'll probably hold off from a final assessment of the last two months until next Thursday. But I'm down 7lbs which is not as much as I'd like but is progress.

I have been alcohol free since January and intend to keep that up until the end of March. I'm also sugar free (only a week so far) until the end of March. Im still hoping I'll be done a stone and a half by Easter but that might be being too optimistic. We shall see!

Hank86 · 19/02/2024 11:46

Still here but not weighing this week as I'm
feeling v bloated and I know a gain on the scales will immediate make me give up. Going to be kind to myself and have a week off the scales.
Well done to all everyone who is still going!

Satincat · 19/02/2024 11:59

I'm same as you Hank86 - still here, but not weighing until next week as this last week has not been great with some health things going on (hopefully resolved now) but I don't want to get demotivated by seeing a disappointing result or a gain on the scales today.

Much better to refocus starting today and aim for a fresh start. I've been out shopping and got my favourite salads in so that's a good start Smile

Good luck all and well done to the losses on here! Keep going all, even a little bit of a loss is still great even if it's not the 2 stone or even 1 stone off hoped for, a half stone by Easter is still very achievable from now and worth doing Smile

koalabearboombox · 19/02/2024 13:48

Hi everyone - haven't been in here for a while. Had an excellent couple of weeks in Jan, got sick, and haven't quite managed to get back on the wagon. Today is that day (despite having another cold), I am back on WW and will head back to the gym once I've shaken this cold.

Despite everything I am 6lbs down since the start of the year, I need to lose another 20ish lbs as I want to TTC baby#2 in early summer and I don't want to be heavier than my pre-preg weight for #1 (basically right now my BMI is obese and I just don't want excessive consultant interfering in my next pregnancy!)

koalabearboombox · 19/02/2024 13:49

Just to add. I really hate my double chin 😭 I absolutely hate photos of me now, I look like I don't have a neck and I'm only 34. Really hope it goes if I can shake off the 20lbs.

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 19/02/2024 16:38

Glad I weigh daily, lots of tiny fluctuations but overall a downward trend and a average loss of 1lb a week.

OkyDoke · 19/02/2024 16:53

I haven't weighed today, time of the month and not in the mood for a gain! It's all going very slowly.

Spaceracers · 19/02/2024 19:31

I appreciate everyone posting - even if not weighing! - seems like everyone has slowed a little bit.

I'm out one night this week (slightly less of a hermit!) and I expect my DH will be angling for a take away at some point. Dieting is definitely saving me money at least!

WeirdPookah · 19/02/2024 20:26

I haven't weighed this week, been a birthday celebration week, so much going on, so much food. Re-focused today and will weigh in Friday and hope to be the same as I was 2 weeks ago.

WinterStar1 · 19/02/2024 20:35

Just catching up with some of the replies to my post last week, thank you so much your kind words they mean a lot.

Had a horrendous day on Wednesday and think I ate every snacky snack I had in the house and ended up having no tea but I felt awful sluggish and lazy the next day.

Lost another 0.8kg today, as had to reign it in after being so bad on Wednesday so made good choices the rest of the week to make up for it.

Good luck everyone this week xx

Current Loss: 0.8 kg
Total Loss: 9.2 kg
Target Loss: 12.7 kg
