2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

No change this week. Have been out for dinner a couple of times so not surprised.
Have had a check in with a PT at the gym so I have a new strength training routine and she gave me a pep talk which is much needed.
onwards and downwards everyone!

ToddlerMumma · 12/02/2024 10:46

I gained this week Confused but I know it's because I missed some training due to a cold and went out twice this weekend for dinner. I'm getting straight back on it this week and already did an early morning bootcamp today.
One blip is not going to derail me!

needtoshrink · 12/02/2024 11:55

I was flat this week so still 14 6. Not a total surprise as lost drastically last week and had a couple of birthday dinners this week. Glad not to have gained tbh! Back on the straight and narrow this week!

Irishstout · 12/02/2024 12:04

Start weight: 96.9kg
Current weight 92.5kg

Down 1.7kgs this week. Sticking to calorie counting and 2x PT session although PT is away this week so only 1. Still need to work on my 10K steps daily though.

Really pleased after being stagnant through most of January!

Theresit · 12/02/2024 15:55

No loss this week but not fussed as I was -3lb the week before.

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 12/02/2024 16:23

Salty weigh in this am
UP .1 from last week but it’s salt.
I’ll report back in a couple days.
food choices okay and exercise going well.

Lonestar1988 · 12/02/2024 16:54

i gained a pound this week too. I have just started my period though so i'm hoping that's part of it. I also haven't been great food wise. I'm really hoping for a loss next week.
Start weight: 14 stone
Current weight: 13 stone 8
Goal weight: 11 stone

Really want to be below 13 by Easter.

Well done to everyone who is still going

WinterStar1 · 12/02/2024 18:22

Sticking with logging my food on MFP, 3 sessions a week swimming and staying around 1200/1300 calories still seems to be working for me.

Finally reached my 4 stone weight loss (since Aug 23 - I had a lot to lose!) so bought myself a new sweatshirt as a wee celebration.

Have to give this thread and the last one at Christmas a lot of credit in keeping me on track. Checking in and reading all your stories helps me lots .... so tyvm xx

Current Loss: 0.8 kg
Total Loss: 8.4 kg
Target Loss: 12.7 kg

Apprenante · 12/02/2024 18:46

Starting weight 14st 6.5lbs
I.5 lbs off this week
Current weight 13 st 5.5lbs
Total loss so far 15lbs

If I could get down to 11 stone 10 I'd be out of the obese category and into the overweight category. So I've got a goal now! 11 stone 10 here I come .... eventually.

Apprenante · 12/02/2024 18:48

@WinterStar1 you must be so proud of yourself! That's a great achievement.🏅

WinterStar1 · 12/02/2024 19:07

@Apprenante thank you so much 🥰. I'm really chuffed and surprised that I've stuck at it, I would normally lose a stone and go back to old habits.

Still have a long way to go, and have always been embarrassed to show my actual weight, but slowly feeling more confident about this xx

Spaceracers · 12/02/2024 20:10

That's great @WinterStar1!

I am also v impressed with the posters who have stayed the same or gained slightly who taking it on the chin or in a reasonable way. And sticking with it!

I am only 4 weeks in and have yet to start exercising properly but know how easily I get discouraged when the losses don't come as easily. Will be sticking with this thread!

Fluffygoon · 12/02/2024 20:23

@WinterStar1 that’s amazing -what an achievement 👏

shearwater2 · 13/02/2024 08:12

Well done @WinterStar1 How good losing a stone feels!

Not much progress to report but want to "show up" on here as such. Total weight loss this week was 0.7lb.

Total weight loss since starting just over 5lbs.

Best of luck everyone.

wallpapercurious · 13/02/2024 08:40

Lost 0.4kg this week, total loss of 2.5kg in 3 weeks. I was hoping for more this week but my period is due any day, and I can't exercise at all due to minor surgery a week ago.

Positives are:

  1. Apart from one (pre-planned) bad day I've stuck to my diet all week, am actually eating healthily as opposed to just eating less, and generally feeling good
  2. I'm normally a sucker for ready meals/convenience foods but this week I've cooked dinner from scratch 2.5 times (2 proper recipes and one roast dinner with bisto and one of those ready to roast chickens in a bag, but potatoes and Yorkshires from scratch). I'm not sure this has ever happened before!

Going on holiday on Friday so I'll weigh in before I go and then relax a bit. It's a marathon not a sprint!

SW: 82.9kg
CW: 80.4kg
Easter goal: 75kg

KinderToMyFutureSelf · 13/02/2024 10:47

Like others have said, I’m finding this thread really motivating. I don’t weigh in until Thursday, but I had a sneaky jump on the scales and I think I’ve lost another pound, which (as long as it still says that on “Weigh Day Thursday”) I will have lost a stone, which I am delighted about. I’ve still a few more stones to go, but even at 15:7 I feel so much better than I did at 16:7. So, honestly if you have a fair bit to lose even a stone can make the world of difference. The big thing for me was I was finding it really hard to get up from the sofa – to the point, if someone else was in the room, I had to mentally prepare for getting up without looking like I was struggling. On Sunday, I just realised that I just got up – that was it, no worrying, no huffing and puffing (or rolling back!) I just simply GOT UP. Who would have thought that was a thing?!

Fluffygoon · 13/02/2024 11:44

@KinderToMyFutureSelf
Brilliant - so good when we can actually feel a difference.

Apprenante · 13/02/2024 12:16

@KinderToMyFutureSelf that's really motivating! I've lost a stone and I think you're right, I just hadn't consciously registered that stairs now seem less challenging.

LolaJ87 · 14/02/2024 10:54

Just under a kilo off for me this week, making a total of 2kg down. It doesn't sound like a lot when I've about 45kg to lose but slow and steady and I'm taking it one day and one kilo at a time 😁

I have been working hard to reduce processed sugar and my resting heart rate has come down by TWENTY points over the last few weeks. It's not just about what the scales say is it? 😱

KinderToMyFutureSelf · 15/02/2024 07:33

Thursday Weigh In Day and I've come in at 15:7 as I'd hoped (I'd actually hoped for more, but need to be positive!)

A stone off in just over 6 weeks - really happy with that. Another 6 weeks to go til Easter ... not sure if I'll manage to lose another stone, but I'm going to try .... even getting into the 14's will be brilliant and I'll be happy with that. Heavy weekend food-wise with 2 meals out and 2 meals (with friends and family) scheduled. Will forego puddings (I'll take my daily chocolate with me!) and will have to keep my fingers crossed! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 15/2/24-15 stones 7.5 pounds BMI now 29.5

EW-14 stones

Lost nearly 7 pounds in 6 weeks, very slow, (sluggish thyroid) but got to keep going 👍

needtoshrink · 16/02/2024 08:37

@LolaJ87 that's amazing! I gave up drink (partly for weight loss and partly because it was creeping up) and saw a similar drop in heart rate. I think it really helps if you have a lot to go weight wise and it's slow, to see those other improvements in your health. I'm 50 this year and have two parents who have spent their later years very immobile and limited. So while vanity is part of this a bigger part is not wanting to be like that, and things like this are encouraging that you are doing yourself good.
