2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Morning all.
Start weight 15st 1lb
Current weight 14 st 8.5lbs
That's a measly half pound off for me. I am beyond frustrated even allowing for my underactive thyroid I'm fed up with such tiny losses despite sticking to the rules. I have now joined the 8 week Keto bootcamp which starts today to see if that will help me accelerate things a bit! The main thing is that this time I'm not giving up - at least the trend is downwards even if it's excruciuatingly slow.

SW (15 Jan): 12 st 4
CW: 11st 11

I lost 2.5lbs this week and now have lost 7lbs altogether! Starting to struggle with the monotony though I have to say (and also I haven't been out with friends that much so I am sure progress will slow when I start living a bit more).

I am trying to do more walking with the family at the weekend to get my steps up otherwise there's a lot of standing around playgrounds!

OkyDoke · 05/02/2024 09:43

Finally started to see some movement after I've given into loosely calorie counting!

SW: 217.4lbs
CW: 211.2 lbs

Can't remember what I put as goal weight, but my main goal is to keep losing!

GiantPigeon · 05/02/2024 11:31

01/01: Unknown/Faulty scales
08/01: 13st 4.29lbs
15/01: 12st 13.9lbs
22/01: 13st 0.98lbs
29/01: 12st 13.6lbs
05/02: 12st 13.8lbs

Total weight loss since starting just over 4lbs

No progress to report but want to "show up" on here as such. Life is stressful, has been for years and continues to be so.

I've not done calorie tracking but I've intentionally not been eating much in the way of "treats". Had 1 takeaway this week which was a McChicken Sandwich meal after a stressful day. I've never really drank alcohol and don't drink fizzy juice either. Food portions are reasonable I think and not too many treats. Might try and do calorie tracking again if I have the headspace, I have a lot on this upcoming week, we'll see.

Best of luck everyone.

Still journaling what I’m eating and any exercise. Last week was really tough with no drop but this week not only am I down but actually feel less fat around the thighs.
Have a gym check in to tweak my program as my current routine has become too easy.
Keep posting everyone and let’s keep going - it’s a healthier lifestyle.

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 05/02/2024 11:49

Goal 13kg
1st week -1kg
2nd week -0.8kg
3rd week -0.4kg
4th week +0.1kg
This week -1.3kg
total -3.4k

told you the scales wouldn't move until about 6 weeks! No idea why that is but it's always been true.
Glad it's finally happening (although I can see my loss is still tiny compared to lots of you who are doing amazing!!) & delighted I have stuck to tracking (every mouthful😩) as I promised myself I would.

I can't imagine a way of hitting that 13kg goal but so long as it's still coming off🤷‍♀️

There was a discussion up thread about weight fluctuations & weighing everyday etc those that get demoralised by the fluctuations might find the free app HappyScale useful as you just keep sticking in the numbers & it smooths out the curve etc for you. I find it really helpful.

Keep on keeping on all!

Crispsandchocolate4 · 05/02/2024 11:49

@Fluffygoon thank you and I hope things start moving for you too. I think my body just went into shock once I started exercising and is now getting into the swing of it as its be very very slow for me!!

OkyDoke · 05/02/2024 12:03

I keep seeing this Happy Scale app, does anyone have it on Android? i can't find it!

Whoop, whoop - the first half stone and a little bit extra has gone!

1/1 - 152.1
5/2 - 144.1

Total loss so far 8lbs

I might make it to one stone off by Easter :)

Have a good week everyone!

Satincat · 05/02/2024 14:27

Amazing results here, well done! And also amazing and well done to see those whose results haven't been what they wanted but still showed up anyway for accountability. Keep going! We can do it. Smile

Just a pound off for me this week which I'm happy with as I had a 70th birthday do. I didn't go totally overboard which I might have done in the past. I didn't really miss what I didn't have either (big pudding) and actually felt not that great with what I did have (extravagant meal, cake and prosecco etc) because I've not been used to fancy food etc for weeks. Back on the water and the clean salads and veggie food this week! Next goal is get 7lb off by the end of Feb, or at least hit the 1st off mark by end of Feb.

Start weight 14 st 6.5lbs
Current weight 13st 7lbs
Loss this week 2lbs

Total loss is 13.5 lbs in 4 weeks. Very happy with that - although a great deal of it was in the first week. Losing about 2lb a week or even less would be fine, so long as it's a downward trend. So far I'm maintaining enthusiasm.

I alternate two breakfasts - hot porridge or cold overnight oats, depending how we'll organised I am the evening before. Lunch is home made soup which comes in at about 115 calories. Dinner is meat, fish, eggs or a vegetable/bean/legume concoction with lots of additional veg. Then a high protein yogurt for pudding.

If I'm very organised I make little egg things for lunch if I'm going to be out. If I'm less organised I hope there'll be a handy m and s where I can buy some prawns or cooked chicken. Any other suggestions, clever people, for easy to make and transport lunches?

My loss this week is 1.3 lbs
i’m surprised, I thought it might be a .5 week at the most due to some sloppy logging, oomph free workouts. Scales claiming dehydration despite 2+ liters water intake per day etc.
no hunger no cravings yet so I’ll continue to poke along.

Irishstout · 05/02/2024 17:21

I'm down 0.6 kgs this week. Little disappointed as I've been pretty good but will keep all fingers crossed it pays back a bit more next week.

2 PT sessions this week and keeping up with my 10k steps.

WinterStar1 · 05/02/2024 18:34

Just checking in, some fabulous weight losses this week. I'm over the moon with my loss and think this is due to me becoming more active as I've lost the weight. Have a good week everyone x

maddiemookins16mum · 05/02/2024 20:30

Hi all, may I join 😀

My long term goal is to be ‘Slimmer when I’m 60’ and my 60th birthday is very early August this year.

I began my ‘journey’ on the 16th Jan and I weighed 14 stone 4 (I’m only 5ft 4 😢).

I have cut out all pastries, cake, biscuits, crisps etc…and white bread. Take less sugar in my tea and have reduced portion sizes.

I’m also doing online fitness videos and we’ve joined a Line Dancing group.

I weigh in weekly, yesterday I was 13 stone 10 (the week before I was 13 stone 13.

I’d dearly love to be 13 stone by Easter.

SW: 14 stone 4
CW : 13 stone 10
TW : 13 stone for Easter

SlimJimmin · 05/02/2024 20:54

I’ve lost another 4lbs this week, so very pleased. Still doing OMAD and keeping carbs lowish for my meal. For my birthday trip away next week so hope that doesn’t kibosh it for me! 🤞

Week 1 loss: 9.75lbs
Week 2 loss: 3.75lbs
Week 3 loss: 4lbs
Week 4 loss: 4lbs

SW 08/01: 16st 2.25
CW 05/02: 14st 8.76
Total loss: 22.5lbs

falgelednl · 05/02/2024 21:24

A bit of a gain this week (for the first time this year) but not going to be disheartened. That’s what happens with two meals out (but they were delicious so worth the 200g gain).

SW 88.9kg
CW 85.1kg

Total loss 3.8kg (just over 8lb)

will try harder…😀

wallpapercurious · 06/02/2024 07:35

A modest loss of 0.3kg this week. I'm happy with that as I had a very indulgent weekend.

SW 82.9kg
CW 80.8kg
Easter goal: 75kg

Goal for next week is to get under 80kg!

needtoshrink · 06/02/2024 07:51

I'd like to join if I may. Started in late Jan at 15 stone. Given up alcohol, doing mostly calorie counting and healthy eating. Have a big trip in May and I'd love to be under 13 for that. And I'm 50 in November and would dearly like to be a healthy weight then. But aiming for 13 target as first step.
SW 15 stone
CW 14 stone 6lb
TW 13 stone

LosingMyPumpkins · 07/02/2024 05:47

I somehow managed to gain 2.3 kilos. Over night.

over night isn’t an exaggeration btw. I weighed myself yesterday afternoon because I forgot yesterday morning.

I felt fairly good about the result and told myself to just repeat the weigh-in this morning / scooch the weigh-in by a day. How is that possible???

Satincat · 07/02/2024 08:37

Welcome to all newcomers!

Losingmypumpkins Have you moved your scales at all? Being moved to different spots can cause them to go up or down unexpectedly. Or could it be what you ate yesterday after your weigh in?

Don't be disheartened though, scale fluctuations are annoying but I've had it where I've suddenly gained then suddenly lost it again within the space of a few days. Water retention possibly? I find drinking extra water helps shift the scales down if they've been fluctuating.

LolaJ87 · 07/02/2024 09:17

I'm a kilo lighter this week, which I'm very happy with after no movement last week.

Even an average of half a kilo a week is 13kg/2stone over 6 months. So I'll perservere.

I'm eating really well as I'm very obese and too much restriction just leads to binging or packing it in. While I am tracking calories I'm trying to eat a good varied diet with lots of whole goods, healthy fats and some treats/meals out factored in. I really want whatever I do this time to be sustainable.
