2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Third week at Slimming World and 2.5lbs lost. Very happy, considering I did have an extremely large cheat meal on Thursday (Global buffet restaurant...I may have had more than one plateful 😬) so I wasn't expecting much. But I've stayed on plan the rest of the week so it must have limited the damage.

I also had my half stone award today. It may be juvenile but I do enjoy the round of applause for a loss at group! 😂

Start weight 08/01: 15st 2lbs
W1: -5.5lbs, 14st 10.5lbs
W2: -1lb, 14st 9.5lbs
W3: -2.5lbs, 14st 7lbs

Total loss so far: 9lbs
Goal weight: 10st 10lbs

Thesehills · 30/01/2024 06:27

Ah dammit! I'm up 2lbs this week, rubbish! I've been slacking.

SW: 15.2
Wk 1: 14.12 (-4)
Wk 2: 15.00 (+2)

Re set myself.

RememberToSmile1980 · 30/01/2024 06:28

Hi All,

Sorry for the late reply. I have been so so poorly this last week. Totally off my food and had very little appetite. Still have the horrendous cough and horrible heartburn for some reason. 2.4lbs off this week, mainly due to illness.

SW - 11st 11.8 01/01
Week 1 - 11st 7.0 - 08/01 - 4.8
Week 2 - 11st 6.0 - 15/01 -1.0
Week 3 - 11st 2.0 - 22/01 - 4.0
Week 4 - 10st 13.6- 28/01 - 2.4

I'm glad I'm in the next stone bracket - however, by the time I get to around 10st 8lbs I tend to lose control. Let's see how I persevere this time. I have decided that I am going to take it slowly, as I am away over Feb half-term. My trip will be involving a lot of walking and I will try to make good choices. I am giving myself until June to get down to 9stone. Even lower would be better as I'm a shortie at 5foot and put weight on around my stomach.

wallpapercurious · 30/01/2024 08:11

First official weigh in today and I've lost 1.8kg! I haven't been able to exercise this week due to a nasty cough but have stuck to the diet so I'm pleased with myself. I've loved reading everyone else's updates on this thread - well done all!

SW: 82.9kg
CW: 81.1kg
Easter goal: 75kg

This coming week will be harder as I've got a couple of work events and a weekend away with friends... thinking I'll be as sensible as possible at the work stuff so I can enjoy myself over the weekend.

MaxatStMarys · 30/01/2024 08:34

Checking in - loving reading the thread and everyone’s stories and successes. Mixed week for me with my oldest turning 13 so a couple of meals out and of course cake! Despite this ended up with a 1.8lb loss so pleased.

SW 80.8kg
CW 77.3kg - 3.5kg loss
1st GW 70kg - normal BMI
ultimate goal 64kg

Is it just me who weighs in kg as I don’t want to know the stones / lbs but then measures the loss in lb as it looks better??

Irishstout · 30/01/2024 09:17

I'm a day late on weigh in because I've been away from home. Stuck to my counting calories last week for the first week. The weekend was a bit of a cheat as away with friends but I tried to make good choices where possible and put a lot of steps in.

I hate the idea of having to count calories but it has really worked. 1.5kgs down this week in my first meaningful drop so I'll be sticking with it.

SW: 96.6kgs
CW: 94.9 KGS

Well done everyone on the losses

Bigbus · 30/01/2024 10:13

Maintain this week at 14st
I'm going to track everything this week and hope for 2lbs even though I have a lot on.
Well done everyone who is keeping going despite the ups and downs!

shearwater2 · 30/01/2024 10:18

Had to restart last week - was still gaining and not able to get back into it properly. Lost two pounds this week. Of the 6 (six) I gained between the end of November and last Tuesday. Pleased to be back into it again.

SW: 12st 9lbs
CW: 12st 7lbs
GW: 11st 0lbs

Theresit · 30/01/2024 10:22

SW 13st 4
CW 13st 0

Maintain this week . I’m not going to shift 2 stone by Easter. I’m menopausal so any weight loss is excruciatingly slow but it’s very motivational reading about your losses.
I lose weight when I cut the carbs and gain when I don’t. It’s not rocket science but it’s hard to stick to!

qwerty1972 · 30/01/2024 10:24

Running late this week as I have been on holiday. Thrilled to have been away for 5 days and returned the same weight: small portions and no snacks, but no restrictions on what I ate! Hoping for a loss next week :)

1st January - 152.1 lb
22nd January - 147.7lbs
30th January - 147.7lbs

Target - around - 120lbs

Have a good week everyone!

Pastelrainbow · 30/01/2024 18:17

So this week saw a 2 3/4lb loss making a total of 13.5lbs since 2nd Jan. BMI still officially ‘overweight’ at 25.3. Mini milestones to head for 1) lose another half a pound to get to 1 stone loss, 2) Get back into healthy BMI range, 3) Drop into next stone bracket

shearwater2 · 31/01/2024 06:04

Wow, that's amazing, well done.

In January I lost a grand total of 2lbs, but am actually overall still up 4lbs! At least I'm back on the case now.

Henowner · 31/01/2024 08:59

Having a terrible week health wise and my healthy diet's gone off the rails. Will try harder from tomorrow 😣

Satincat · 31/01/2024 09:44

Well done everyone who's made good progress this week! Keep going!

I am finding myself slipping almost every day at the moment, but still hanging on in there grimly Smile This is the point at which I usually think "Can't do it... just give up". But I'm not giving up, even though it's tempting. I know I'll regret giving up by the time spring rolls around.

If anyone is finding it hard to stay on track at the moment like me, even if there's only a loss of a few pounds in the whole of February, it might not feel much but that's still better than nothing or putting a few pounds on. If there's a loss of a few pounds in February, and March, and April, added up that could be half a stone or 10lbs lighter by spring, just for being a few pounds off here and there. Even the minimal losses eventually add up! We can do this Flowers Obviously, I'm still aiming for the 2 stones by Easter, but if that doesn't happen, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Something off is still better than nothing.

Fresh start today. After this I'm drinking a large glass of water, then I'm planning what to eat and what not to eat for the day Smile. One day at a time. Aiming for a loss on Monday.

afaloren · 31/01/2024 09:52

13lb off in January, very pleased with that. Almost the first stone gone. Planning to keep the same up for February: logging everything in MyFitnessPal, plenty of exercise, very minimal alcohol.

Well done to everyone who’s pleased with their January results and sending strength and positivity to those who are disappointed. February is a new month!

TicketyBoo11 · 31/01/2024 10:12

So, concentrating more on self care in February. I am maintaining my weight but my muscle mass is low and joints are are weak and creaky snd I just don’t feel strong-and I used to…so I am going to do weight workouts every day in Feb and see how it makes me feel. Did one this morning just to commit. Got down on myself and stopped swimming and cycling during the stress of last year..I used to love it but I got so fed up that I jacked everything in and drank and got lazy…just work/home/family/work/home/family…but that’s what we do to survive right 🤔. Healthy fuelling and strengthening myself to get back in the saddle and into the pool….who knows, the byproduct of that may be weight loss. 😬

slummymummy35 · 31/01/2024 10:16

January has gone well! SW 14st2 and CW 13st9 so half a stone off which I'm happy with.
I've completed dry jan and am on week 5 of couch to 5k.
Feb plan is to continue calorie counting, improve diet quality so better main meals and less chocolate and crisp snacking. Complete couch to 5k and do a park run. Continue no alcohol until end of Feb.
Onwards 😊

WeirdPookah · 31/01/2024 10:20

Some really great results in here!
I'm going to weigh in Friday as usual.

LolaJ87 · 31/01/2024 10:50

I'm not weighing myself this week as we found out our dog is terminally ill and I fell headfirst into a takeaway, bad sleep and no exercise. Bar the takeaway I've gotten my food back on track. Just need to reset this week I think. Very relieved it's February tomorrow.

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 31/01/2024 11:05

It took me a while to work out why people were posting weigh ins today 🙄😂
I'll stick to Monday.

congratulations to everyone for hanging in there & the great losses.

Lola I'm so sorry about your dog 💐

Isthiscorrect · 31/01/2024 11:09

Ive lost 1.8kgs. It's been difficult to get back on track but I've weighed everyday and recorded everything I've eaten and drunk. Of course I'm disappointed but in my heart I know I don't deserve anything more for the effort I've put in. Today we go away for 6 weeks. So I'm anticipating a disaster for this month but again I will still record everything and weigh when I get home.
Well down to everyone who's made progress and positive vibes to everyone else. We can do this together.

ChickenChipsandBeans · 31/01/2024 15:17

Weighed in today and have lost 3.6kg this month. I was surprised as I felt this month hadn't been too good, lots of upward scale movements or staying the same so I'm really glad that I weigh everyday and write it down. From now on I will focus more on the whole month rather than weekly. January has actually been my best month's loss so far since I started in the last week of September... I am sure doing Dry January was a huge factor, even though I didn't feel it was at all at the time! I guess monthly shows the bigger picture. Let February commence!

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 31/01/2024 16:57

last weigh in marred by salt :(, but yesterdays was excellent with just over 10lbs down for the month!
i hope i can keep up the focus for february, not that january has been hard but i don't usually loose this quickly.
i'll just continue with what i've been doing and fingers crossed it continues to make a difference.

KinderToMyFutureSelf · 01/02/2024 06:22

Morning everyone, again not had time to read thread properly - will try and do so over the weekend. I’m very happy with a 4lb loss this week - best so far …. I’m 3lbs off losing a stone! Got a friend staying this weekend, so lots of home cooking planned rather than eating out (doing that just once) so hopefully I don’t slip too much. Dry January done - so will be enjoying a G&T or two!

Good luck everyone for this coming week.

SW: 16:7
CW: 15:10
GW: 13

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 01/02/2024 06:35

Finally the scales are shifting again. Been a hard month of January with the plateau.

sw- 13.1 in August 2023
cw - 10.7 !!!! Whoop.
gw - 8.7.

I need to just keep focused on what I’m doing. It is working even though this month has been really hard. I officially have two stone left to loose. I can keep going and do this.
