2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Second weigh in at Slimming World tonight and 1lb lost this week.

I was slightly disappointed as I've been very much on plan all week...but I've given my head a wobble and reminded myself it's still in the right direction 🤷‍♀️

SW 08/01: 15st 2lbs
CW today: 14st 9.5lbs
Total loss so far: 6.5lbs

Carolwithane · 22/01/2024 19:24

SW - 251lbs

CW - 240.3lbs

Really happy with results so far. Eating 3 smaller meals per day and no snacking. 2 or 3 exercise classes per week and trying to drink more water. Long may it continue! ☺️ As I have a looooong way to go!

abbs1 · 22/01/2024 21:57

Not much of a loss this week but I've been unwell Thursday-Sunday so happy for a little loss. 200g better than nothing.

Starting weight 71.4kg Jan 1st.
Current weight 69.8kg
Goal weight 60kg

WinterStar1 · 22/01/2024 22:29

Over the moon today with my 2.6kg loss. The weight has started moving again after the Christmas holidays.

My self care this week is to go swimming at least twice per week.

Have a good week everyone.

Current Loss: 2.6 kg
Total Loss: 4.8 kg
Target Loss: 12.7 kg

RememberToSmile1980 · 23/01/2024 06:38

Hi all,
Hope everyone is well. I've been poorly with a cold, which has affected my appetite the last couple of days.

SW - 11st 11lbs
Week 1 / - 4.8
Week 2 / -1.0
Week 3 / - 4.0
Target is to lose 7lbs a month by making healthy choices and not eating any junk food.
It will go to pot when my period arrives though!
I'm a shortie at 5ft so really need to be around 8 - 9 stone!

Pastelrainbow · 23/01/2024 07:05

Another 1.75lbs off this week. Pretty happy with that :-)
SW 13st 3.5lbs
CW 12st 7
TW 11st
Haven’t made massive changes- smaller portions, healthier food, daily mini pilates sessions from YouTube and trying to walk more.

falgelednl · 23/01/2024 07:21

Only a day late…

sw 88.9kg
cw 86.2kg
total loss 4.7kg
bmi 30.5 (so close to leaving the obese section on the chart!)

Doing better - but not perfect - on cutting out random evening snacking and have really cut down in fizzy drinks.
I’m hoping it’s more realistic to stick to rather than losing weight and then putting it all back on.

wallpapercurious · 23/01/2024 07:23

Hi all, I know it's not exactly Jan 1st, but I'd love to join this chat if that's ok. This morning I finally built up the courage to weigh myself on the new scales I bought in August(!) and I'm 82.9kg. By far the heaviest I've ever been.

As a starting point, I'd like to be under 75kg by Easter.

suneetime · 23/01/2024 07:37

A day late but never mind. Not had a great week food wise but I’m keeping going. Someone up thread said you don’t fail until you quit and I like that. I’m not quitting yet and reading this thread is helping me. So I go again this week.

sw 13st 12lbs
cw 13st 11lbs
weekly loss 0lbs
overall loss -1lb
Easter goal 12st 5lbs

imustbepatient · 23/01/2024 08:12

Hi all, please may I join your lovely thread too? I’m on a couple of other great ones on these boards and find them so good for my headspace at the moment, keeping me focused and enthused about getting underway (again!) to lose the 3 - 4 stone I need to say goodbye to. I’m a slow loser and hence don’t expect to meet any particular time target, I just want to focus on doing the best things I reasonably can each day, and knowing that eventually that will show up on the scales.

I’m down 4.6lb so far this year, and hoping for another loss this week. Currently still fighting off a bug, which seems to be showing up as an upward fluctuation on the scales. A bit annoying but I’m still sticking to my calorie limit and did a decent bit of walking yesterday, so I’m putting it down to my body retaining more fluid during this illness, or some such other mysterious bodily function.

HelloDaisy · 23/01/2024 08:44

Morning All, can I join too please.

I have put on 6lbs since Christmas as haven’t been walking due to being busy with kids, illness etc, and sugar addiction is out of control although all this is just excuses really.

I really need to o something about it and get my cravings under control so I’m not spending all my day thinking about not eating whilst still eating everything in sight!

SW 12st 7lb
Aim 10st 7lb

Henowner · 23/01/2024 10:05

Hi all

Another loss this week, currently got the lurgy so am indulging in lots of self care.

SW: 77kg
CW: 73kg
GW: 60kg

Spaceracers · 23/01/2024 13:50

I've been lurking for a week or so and now officially joining.

SW: 12st 4
CW: 12st 1

Lost 3lbs but until I started last week I was very much still on the Christmas diet of chocolate and baileys so to be expected.

I am loosely calorie counting but mainly trying to stop snacking / eating the kids' leftovers / stopping takeaways.

afaloren · 23/01/2024 14:43

I’ve been mostly lurking but still reading every day. 8.5lb off so far since Jan 1.

Walkingbkwrm · 23/01/2024 16:42

Hi to all the new joiners and well done to everyone, especially those finding it tough and not quitting.

@Satincat you are quite right about the pizza (and I did throw it :)).

falgelednl · 23/01/2024 23:31

Just reposting as my maths was wrong this morning - I screenshot my posts to keep track!

Only a day late…

sw 88.9kg
cw 86.2kg
total loss 2.7kg (6.4lb)
bmi 30.5 (so close to leaving the obese section on the chart!)

Doing better - but not perfect - on cutting out random evening snacking and have really cut down in fizzy drinks.

TicketyBoo11 · 24/01/2024 00:00

Well it’s all going wrong here. Wine, toast and jam, crisps, chocolate, poor sleep, no exercise and no calorie counting…wtf 😬. Serious reset required.
Step 1. pour wine down sink - done
step 2. Cut self a little slack as currently getting over a cold - done
step 3. Fresh start tomorrow….definitely..
..notice I’m posting at 23.58 so the sleep this is definitely not checked tonight…

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 24/01/2024 00:13

@TicketyBoo11 you're winning because you've recognised the detour & are persisting 💪💪💪

I hope tomorrow goes well

WhatIsThisCough · 24/01/2024 06:55

Morning all,
Please can I join? I’m 46 and have been overweight all my life I would say. I lost some last year and then put it back on, but now am at best prediabetic and undergoing investigations for heart arrhythmia so I MUST now make some changes. So here we go. I started 8th Jan but would love to post here for accountability.

Heaviest weight (a couple of years ago): 17st 10
SW (8/1/24): 16st 2.25
CW: 15st 1

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 24/01/2024 07:13

A cheeky weigh in early this morning. So happy to see the scales moving after three weeks of nothing.
starting weight was - 13.1 stone in august
current weight is - 10.8 stone! Whoop.
goal weight is 8.7 stone.
I am nearly half way there.

I tried on three pairs of size 10 trousers last night that I had in the cupboard. Why are women’s sizes so different? One fitted , one will fit I think in a few weeks. And one I think are really more towards the 8 than a ten.

Bigbus · 24/01/2024 07:44

Welcome @WhatIsThisCough i am very similar to you - I’m also 46 and my highest was 17st 12 some years ago. I lost over 6.5 stone but then put half of it back on! I’m currently at 14 stone, down 7lbs since New Year. Well done on your weight loss already!

Satincat · 24/01/2024 09:46

Walkingbkwrm · 23/01/2024 16:42

Hi to all the new joiners and well done to everyone, especially those finding it tough and not quitting.

@Satincat you are quite right about the pizza (and I did throw it :)).

Brilliant Walkingbkwrm! Good for you!! I know it's hard but every little thing like this is a step in the right direction. I know I feel controlled by things like takeaway leftovers being around so once they're gone, they're gone so I don't have to test my willpower for hours every time I think about them sitting there.

Satincat · 24/01/2024 09:54

You can do it Ticketyboo11! Being under the weather leads to fridge raiding for me as I try to somehow eat my way out of feeling rubbish, it doesn't make sense and of course I don't fancy all the healthy stuff just empty carbs etc... it must be some sort of biological thing. But every day we can start again, no matter how bad yesterday was. It's giving in entirely, and it then leading to weeks and weeks of being off track that has been my downfall in the past but I'm now trying to be mindful of not letting a day or two of going off track turn into weeks. Keep on going! Flowers

Satincat · 24/01/2024 09:54

Also, welcome to all the newcomers!

Tangerin · 24/01/2024 10:12

:-( Hi, new here
joining as I feel lonely and sad in my weight loss mission.

I was always an ok weight. Not thin but ok. but then… children!

I have so much to lose. I am on almost 33 BMI and I need and want to lose 25 kg. I am so tired and and had a back injury last year because the weight really hurts my back and life style.

SW: 103.6 kg How did I get to this :-(
Goal weight 74 kg. That is not even my goal weight to look how I want but just to go back to when I first got pregnant. Not even my ideal weight.
weight today after working hard this month: 99.8 kg

i was doing so well with running and exercise and felt so much better. But my period is approaching and my PMS is bad. Very bad. So now sad, stopped my couch to 5k and any exercise because I have to care for my children whom sometimes refuse to leave the house and can’t walk far. They have extra needs. So for a week I have been at home and I don’t like home exercises, I like fresh air.

bah. All the progress I have managed is wasted. I will have to start couch to5K from scratch which I would hate so I give up.

does anyone have so much to lose? It is so much it is impossible to stay positive.

best luck to all of you. This is harder as you get older
