2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

1st January - 152.1 lb
22nd January - 147.7lbs
Target - around - 120lbs

Progress in painfully slow (4.4lb since Jan 1st), and only 1.2lbs this week, but the scales are definitely going in the correct direction. 2 stones by Easter is not going to happen, but I'm happy to plod along and aim for two stones by the summer.

Instead of doing anything dramatic, I'm simply focussing on portion control and no snacks. Hoping I can retrain my stomach so this way of eating is sustainable for life.

Have a good week everyone!

Apprenante · 22/01/2024 08:17

Starting weight 14st 6.5lbs
Current weight 13 st 11.2lbs
Total loss 9.3lbs
This week -1.5lbs

I went out for a very nice lunch yesterday and put on a pound as a result. I expect that will come off again quite quickly. I'm eating out twice more this week. This is the sort of thing that I would allow to derail my plans in the past and I'd go off track completely. I'm trying very hard to keep my goal in sight.

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 22/01/2024 08:18

Whooooooop. My plateau seems to have stopped!!! This would have been week four of nothing. I was at 10.9. Then went back up to 10.10 and then 10.11. Hadn’t over eaten either. Which I could have understood if I had. My calories were just the same.

so I moved around from 10.10 - 10.11 for three weeks. Then… This morning. Bam. It has started shifting again. I’m ignoring January 😂

SW - 14st 4lbs
CW - 13st 12lbs
This week - 0 Confused

No loss this week after my great start. I will keep going though, 6.30am bootcamp felt that little bit easier this morning! Can't wait until I've shed that first half a stone!

Morning all
Start weight 15st 1lb
CW 14st 10lbs
Week 3 loss 0.5lbs
Frustratingly slow but taking it that at least it's a downward trajectory. I guess 5lbs in 3 weeks is better than nothing but it feels like a hard won victory and I know my underactive thyroid isn't helping the cause at all. Never mind - I've only failed if I stop trying. Plan for this week is to try to move more as I'm naturally physically lazy. Good luck everyone let's keep going!

Ihonestlydontgetit · 22/01/2024 08:48

SW 12 st 5
CW 11 st 13
GW 10 st 5
Loss 6lb in 3 weeks.
Doing WW
I've settled into the weight loss now so I'm expecting a plateau.
It usually happens about 3 weeks in and stays until I'm ready to quit.

chalkyc2 · 22/01/2024 08:51

Weekly update: seem to have had a bit of a whoosh - always welcome! Especially ahead of a ski trip in 3 weeks time!

08/01 - 11 st 11/74.7kg

Self care this week is to somehow get rid of this bloody cough that I can't shake! Oh and get my nails done!

Keeping strong team - we can do this!!

Bit cross with myself. The weekend has not been good for food.

GiantPigeon · 22/01/2024 09:31

Hi everyone,

Not a great week for me, I only did calorie counting Monday and Tuesday.

It's been a stressful week and I've been spread super thin for everyone else with no time for myself at all. So there's been takeaway food in the house and I've comfort/tired ate cake and other treats to keep myself going.

But the dust has settled now and I'm hopeful I can stick with this thread.

I am tracking kg/ lbs/ st&lbs/ BMI and "weight to height ratio" for round number milestones to hit.

31/12/23 - Unknown/Faulty scales
08/01/24 - 84.5kg/ 186.3lbs/ 13st 4.29lbs +/- unknown
15/01/24 - 82.5kg/ 181.9lbs/ 12st 13.9lbs -2.0kg -4.4lbs
22/01/24 - 83.0kg/ 183.0lbs/ 13st 0.98lbs +0.5kg +1.1lbs

Since 1st accurate weight 08/01/24 I am -1.5kg -3.3lbs

BMI
08/01/24: 27.5 (Overweight)
15/01/24: 26.8 (Overweight)
22/01/24: 27.2 (Overweight)

Self care: I visited the dentist for an overdue checkup and have follow up appointments booked for a filling and hygienist. This is a big deal for me as I have dental phobia and medical trauma.

Next milestone for me is to come under 13st (again)

Best of luck everyone

Satincat · 22/01/2024 09:41

2lb off this week which I'm happy with. Was really in the zone for most of the week, then this weekend there's been treats here and a hearty dinner yesterday with pudding etc so I was worried it would cancel out the good efforts but amazingly it didn't.

SW 12st 3lb
CW 11st 9lb
GW 10st

Aiming for another 2lb off for next week.

Well done to all who have had a loss this week, and if anyone's had any setbacks, there's a new week ahead. Every day is a opportunity to start again and make healthy choices, no matter how small Flowers

SeaItAfresh · 22/01/2024 10:53

Morning all. I got logged and and can’t remember login details for my MN account I’ve had for 20 years so posting afresh. Well done to everyone.

MaxatStMarys · 22/01/2024 10:57

Very slow week for me this week - my period finally arrived with a vengeance so feeling sorry for myself today.

I have been mostly good all week and for the first time in a while didn’t gain around my period so pleased with 400g off. Hopefully this week will reflect my hard work.

SW - 80.8kg
CW - 78.1kg - 2.7kg / 6lb loss
GW - 65kg - not sure when, but hopefully for the summer

Lonestar1988 · 22/01/2024 12:39

Well done guys.
Start weight: 14 stone
Current weight: 13 9
Loss this week: 2lbs
Total loss: 5lb
Goal weight : 10stone 7

I can't see me hitting 2 stone by Easter but I'd love even to be a stone and half down from starting weight.

ChickenChipsandBeans · 22/01/2024 12:47

Disappointing weigh in this morning only 0.1kg loss, but at least it's not a gain. May need to go back to counting calories, but it becomes so tedious when cooking from scratch and you have to search for every little thing. I'm trying to eat whole foods, balanced meals and lower carbs (while trying to lose) with portion control so that it is a lifestyle rather than a restricted diet. Good luck everyone.

chalkyc2 · 22/01/2024 12:56

I agree @ChickenChipsandBeans - If there's one thing I can't face it's inputting recipes and splitting them into portions! I try and follow recipes that note the calories so I know I'm serving say approx 500 calories and use that as a guide (eg a pack of mince 4 ways as chilli is X cals etc). I feel like everything needs to be long term sustainable if it's going to work and calorie apps are not for me!

Walkingbkwrm · 22/01/2024 13:16

Good week for me, 1.1kg down. This week might not be so good - started my period yesterday and felt horrible so treated the kids to pizza. Felt v naughty but I have so far resisted the leftovers today. Am hoping my wfh DH will have eaten them by the time I get home.

SW 110.7kg
CW 108.1
GW (for Easter) 98kg

Satincat · 22/01/2024 14:16

Walkingbkwrm Well done on your 1.1kg down, that's great progress.

If the leftovers aren't eaten when you get home I'd chuck them straight in the bin. I know it goes against the grain because it's food, but it's not like chucking good food like fruit or veg out. I don't do it very often because I was brought up to not waste food but ultimately if it's processed or unhealthy food that will wreck my goals, just for the sake of finishing it off, then I don't feel bad (or at least I've learned to feel less guilty) because I see it as protecting my health. Keep going with your progress!

WotNoUserName · 22/01/2024 15:35

SW - 13st

Stayed the same this week. I will carry on with what I'm doing though, despite being disappointed.
