2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

CW 86.8kg
Total loss so far: 3.1kg

Starting bmi: 31.8
Current bmi: 30.7

Well done everyone ! Welcome @OwlsAreMyFav .

Chicken curry last night with cauliflower rice which was an impulse buy amd had been in the freezer. Definitely repeating that, was very nice and didn’t kiss rice at all.

I have signed up for Zoe and did my test day in Sunday which isn’t the most pleasant experience as the cookies are vile but pleased it is done. Although my fasting blood glucose is fine and my A1c is too I don’t think my blood sugar goes back to where it should be after a carb heavy meal so will be very interesting to see the results when they eventually come back.

It was a relief to get back to no breakfast yesterday. I find that really helps and hope I can keep it up.

Pastelrainbow · 16/01/2024 06:28

Weighed in this morning and a 2lb loss this week making it a loss of 9lb since 2nd Jan. Still going with morning pilates, lunchtime walks and cutting out snacking.

Thesehills · 16/01/2024 06:42

First week of calorie counting done. I did go out on Saturday for a friend’s birthday and had tacos (though didn’t overindulge) and some drinks (had one glass of one and two g&ts).

CW: 107kg
GW: 93kg

fingers crossed for the next week. I am going away this weekend with my partner but will try to make sensible choices.

Morning everyone!

6lbs off since 2 January. My eating hasn't always been on point, so I'm happy with that!

kirinm · 16/01/2024 09:09

Some of these losses are amazing. It does demonstrate to me that I struggle to lose. I do feel like I literally need to starve myself to lose weight.

HealthierMe · 16/01/2024 09:31

Week 2

Struggling with energy this week and I've been comfort eating. Still, a small loss which I'm very pleased with. Onwards and upwards!

SW - 177.6lb
CW - 172.2lb
(Week 1 - 173.8lb)
Total loss - 5.4lb

@AbundanceofKatherines Amazing well done!!

GiantPigeon · 16/01/2024 11:43

@kirinm just in case you don't know about this website, it will work out your specific maintenance calories and if you scroll down a bit to "cutting" to see the calorie deficit you should be in and also macro nutrients to aim for. As you lose weight you need to keep recalculating with your new details each time so that your always in a 500 calorie deficit. Hope that helps :)

Does anyone else struggle when the weather is cold? Mostly I'm very lucky and don't feel hungry often...unless the weather is cold at which point I'm constantly hungry and nothing I eat will make me feel full.

Satincat · 16/01/2024 12:03

I do Lavenderrosemary. In summer it's easier for me with all the salads and sandwiches, but I definitely want heartier food in winter. Which could be fine but I enjoy it so much I want seconds Smile so portion control goes out of the window. If I make a big casserole or similar I probably eat two portions in one go.

Satincat · 16/01/2024 12:05

Also, well done to all yesterday's successes and hello to all the newcomers.

There's a fresh week ahead and it's still early days, so if anyone is feeling a bit lacking in motivation, every day is a new start.

Thanks, I do know. Sadly no stranger to weight loss. I put on most of my excess weight during the first lockdown.

I never lose 4-5lbs as some people here have. It just isn't the way I lose and it's not to do with massively over eating. I'm now peri-menopausal but have struggled with PCOS before.

WeirdPookah · 16/01/2024 12:28

@Lavenderosemary I absolutely did not drink enough water yesterday, it was just too damn cold. I managed to drink a load after doing a workout this morning to catch up a bit.

I'm weighing in Friday, but I lost 4lbs last week.

I'm in this club too - I have a huge amount to lose but I'm only down 1.8kg in the first two weeks despite the numbers saying otherwise.

After long experience I can say that my body basically lags on weight loss by about 6 weeks so I know I just have to keep going.

I found longer fasting worked really well for me previously but also made my hair fall out 😩 so I'm trying to alternate between one meal & two whilst calorie counting this time.

TL:DR I understand & sympathise!

GiantPigeon · 16/01/2024 13:23

@kirinm That sounds difficult, wishing you the best of luck in your journey💛
