2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

a mix of homemade and restaurant asian food for dinner. it's difficult to calculate. but i purposely i aimed for a very low cal breakfast and lunch to moderate yesterdays feast and todays ongoing unknown calorie count.
other than salt water retention i know i'm doing okay.

kirinm · 14/01/2024 10:45

I think I could've done better this weekend. I have managed a longish run (c25k x 2 runs) and a PT session.

Hoping for a good week but I imagine my weight will have gone up or stayed the same as I have DOMS so a lot of water weight.

Satincat · 14/01/2024 16:59

Hope everyone's doing ok! Well done to those who've stayed on track. I've had a bit of a wobble with snacks but still hoping for 2lb off for tomorrow's weigh in. It could go either way, depending on how much I manage to resist Sunday evening pudding and evening biscuits, etc... so hard!

TicketyBoo11 · 15/01/2024 00:06

Well, stayed absolutely the same weight..crazy 🤪 I can’t complain though as I’ve drunk wine and over eaten this weekend. No exercise this week, crap time with menopausal pmt and periods so felt rubbish. Going for a carb light week this week and let’s see what happens. Healthy foot, more water and more sleep is on the menu.

A bit disappointed with only 2lb off in first two weeks- but I think I just haven't been strict enough. Feel a bit more in the zone now so going to try to have a better week!

Well done all and keep on going!!

I've jumped up two pounds, absolutely must be pmt weight (due any minute 😁) as I haven't strayed from the path...so I'm refusing to log until after this water weight vanishes in a couple of days!

Loss of 1.4lbs this week. I'm a bit disappointed as I've really stuck to between 1200 and 1400 calories all week, but a loss is a loss I guess. Going to set up my treadmill in my office again this morning and jump on to up my step count when I can today.

Bigbus · 15/01/2024 07:44

I aim for around 1500 calories a day but the app I have adds calorie allowance for exercise which is a good incentive - I don’t do anything extreme, just walk a lot. Any lower calorie target and I get hungry and ruin it by eating rubbish so slow and steady is better for me. Weight loss is basically calorie deficit so if you like carbs, have carbs but make sure you know how much you are having.

Bigbus · 15/01/2024 07:44

Sorry that was a reply to @abbs1!

MaxatStMarys · 15/01/2024 07:49

Morning all - well done on the great results, I am loving reading all your tips and tricks.

Average week for me this week - stayed the same on the scales, but have restarted running, had a minor operation and a work night out. Also I’m due on this week which never helps 🤦‍♀️

I’ve also discovered that I love halloumi, but my idea of a portion size is very different to the one on the packet! Will have to cut back.

SW - 80.8kg
CW - 78.5kg
GW - 63kg

Total loss -2.3kg / 5lb

A long way to go!
Sticking to 1200 cals and being more active but it's slow progress when you're 59 years old, 5'3 and sit at a desk all day!

recklessgran · 15/01/2024 08:19

Morning all.
Start weight 15st 1 lb
C.W. 14st 10.5lbs
It's a stay the same for me and I know why.
Snacks. Time to bin snacks.
I 've done well with my 2 meals sticking to high protein, low carb but I've been picking at all sorts of bits and pieces in between and not sticking to 16:8.
Plan for this week is to regroup and stick to my original plan.
Today is DD4's birthday so 9 of us are meeting tonight at an Italian restaurant for dinner. I'm going to peruse the menu carefully in advance and try to make wise choices with both food and drink. Here's to the brand new week! Well done to all the losers.

PotatoFan · 15/01/2024 08:25

Great work everyone this week, the second week seemed a hard one.
