2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Utterly crappy week but I've stuck with 19:5 fasting, no junk, not much UPF....

SW 12st 4lb
CW 11st 10lb
Gw 10st 7lb (although I'd like 10st really)

TBH most of that was Christmas stodge (cheese) and went pretty quick but I do feel better for the fasting. My resting heart rate has decrased and I'm sleeping better.

winkygirl · 08/01/2024 20:39

Can I join? (I've been lurking!) Well done everyone on the good work so far.

I am at the upper end of the group in terms of weight.

Heaviest weight 19.3
Starting weight 1 Jan 18.3
Current weight 17.12
Easter aim 16.3

Using IF, dryer January (limited wine) and 10k steps daily.

Did 5 HIIT and Abs workouts last week 25-30mins each. Eaten a lot less and better food. Higher in protein less carbs. Only lost 100g. Really disappointed. Had 2 rest days over sat and sun. Did another 30mins HIIT and Abs this evening. Hoping for better results next week. 🤞🤞

abbs1 · 08/01/2024 21:02

Starting weight 71.4kg
Current weight 71.3kg
Overall goal weight 60-65kg

AbundanceofKatherines · 08/01/2024 21:46

Starting weight: 12st 6.2
Current weight: 12st 2.8
Change this week: -3.4lbs
Goal weight: 9st 7

Stuck to 1200 calories per day and tried to move more. Not too difficult, just a bit dull.

That's amazing! Can I ask what you're eating during the week? Needing some inspiration to keep my calorie intake down but still feel full.

TicketyBoo11 · 08/01/2024 22:20

Back at work so my 10,000 steps done. Scrappy eating day so ‘over’ on the cals..enduring PeriMeno pms so big and bloated and my boobs kill me..😞 when will that crap end…can’t exercise like that.
Lets talk breakfast..I tend to start eating around 10:30 and like Greek yoghurt, blueberries and honey..what are you all doing for breakfast /brunch..? Low cal, high protein ideas..

RememberToSmile1980 · 08/01/2024 22:30

Hi All,
I'm trying to sort myself out this year!
Have really tried.

Stats as follows:
SW - 11st 11.8
Week 1 - 11st 7.0 - loss 3 -4.8lbs

I know this is water weight. I have cut out junk food, my downfall is chocolate!

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 09/01/2024 00:26

Missed weigh in day by 25 mins 😬 it's been a bit of a day...

Happy scale says I'm down 1kg which I'm very happy about as it usually takes weeks before the scales move, OTOH have barely eaten due to having flu (nor have I moved though I suppose!)

reenigne · 09/01/2024 03:36

Is it okay if I join? I’m currently 140lbs and would like to get down to 115 ish (I’m only 5’2). Never been in the overweight category in my life but here I am :(

Won’t be able to properly start until the weekend but when I do I’ve paid for MFP and will be sticking to 1200-1400 calories per day, trying to hit 10k steps per day and just generally being a bit more active. Won’t be able to weigh in weekly either (I’m currently at uni so will only be able to weigh in when I visit home) but I would still love to join in and keep myself on track/support other people.

Pastelrainbow · 09/01/2024 06:29

Tues is weigh in day for me.
I guess it’s that post Xmas water weight / general stodge loss but not a bad start.

SW - 13 stone 3 3/4
CW - 12 stone 10 3/4
TW - 11 stone 3

Sunny06 · 09/01/2024 06:56

I'd love to join! I weighed myself yesterday:
SW: 13 stone
CW: 13 stone
GW: 11 stone

HealthierMe · 09/01/2024 07:34

Week 1

Decided this week to concentrate on getting back into being active after a few very lazy weeks. My meals were healthy, yet I continued to stuff myself with unnecessary snacks (eating through habit rather than hunger). Felt it was too much to tackle fitness and eating at once!

Eased myself back into exercise and now feeling in a better place to tackle eating. Need to stock up on healthy snacks.

Wasn't expecting a loss, but happy with it!

SW - 177.6lb
CW - 173.8lb
GW (Easter) - 160lb

45
5'10"

Walkingbkwrm · 09/01/2024 07:38

Weighed in yesterday but didn’t post.
SW 110.7kg
CW 109.9
GW (for Easter) 98kg
So that would be a 0.8kg loss except today I’m up to 110.4 again which is obv less good! My happy scale app makes me come out to maintenance overall. I’m going to give it one more week and then if I’m still not losing I’ll tweak something else. Bit gutted as thought I had had a good week (and didn’t eat so much stuff I could have). The thought I might need to restrict even more is depressing.

Well done to everyone who’s got off to a good start though!

koalabearboombox · 09/01/2024 08:00

Breakfast today & yesterday is scrambled eggs (3 eggs) and some smoked salmon. I'm doing WW so that's a 0 point breakfast but very high on protein and I'm finding I am full until lunchtime which is unheard of. Usually I am desperate for lunch by 11! Went for a run last night so anticipating feeling hungry today so going to make sure I'm eating enough.

2st2lose · 09/01/2024 08:05

Hi id like to join aswell. I just had my wedding and couldn't believe how much weight I've put on. I have signed up to WW to help start eating healthy

kirinm · 09/01/2024 08:34

I've woken up so bloated it's painful. Urgh.

Taking the long route into work today. Really want to up my exercise this week.

I've also decided to give myself rewards to work towards. Think I'll 'award' them for every stone I lose - and I've got at least 4 to lose.

kirinm · 09/01/2024 08:46

This set will be my treat if I'm still going in summer and nearing my target.

I really like this - very motivating.

ShitIforgothelves · 09/01/2024 14:52

Please can people suggest meal ideas? I find it really helpful! Did a circuits class last night, it was brutal!

MugofteaandWordle · 09/01/2024 17:56

Weighed in this week with a loss of 4lbs.
Onwards and downwards 😁

Edited

Dinners today I did salmon with honey and soy, steamed broccoli and my kids had spaghetti with pasta sauce with theirs as my daughter is allergic to rice.
-Slow cooled chicken, peppers, onions with taco/fajita seasoning in whole meal wrap or on its own with salad.
-chili with an added tin of baked beans and veg with wholemeal rice and salad.
Tomato, red pepper and garlic soup -my current favourite lunch
-chicken quessedias

Circuits sounds hard! I've been doing HIIT and abdominal exercises at home and it's been brutal. 35mins and I'm dead 😂

ShitIforgothelves · 09/01/2024 20:52

Thank you those meals sound great! My lot love fajitas and we eat a lot of salmon anyway.

falgelednl · 09/01/2024 23:18

Oops, a day late to weigh-in (although I am actually a frequent - but not quite faint- weighed):

SW: 196lb
CW: 192.4lb
loss: 3.6lb

I’m calorie counting using MFP and trying to limit snacking and eating in the evening.
I read that your body spends the hours from 8pm to 4am using up the energy you’ve eaten so I’m trying not to eat after 8pm - mostly successfully.
I’m still trying to increase water too - as that can help with something to do with digestion?!
