2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Not the best first week but then I did have a weekend away for a big birthday!

we were using up the last of the Christmas food…

Pushkinini · 08/01/2024 08:25

Can I join? Bit late, but I only got rid of the adult DC (and the Xmas leftover goodies) at the weekend.

SW: 13st 12.4lbs
Easter GW: 11st 12lbs
GW: 10st 7lbs

We're on a weekend abroad for DH's 60th birthday over Easter, so 2 stone by then would be amazing, and I'd feel a lot happier about myself.

recklessgran · 08/01/2024 08:26

Morning all this first weigh day Monday.
Start weight 15st 1 lb
Current weight 14st 10.5lbs
Really pleased with this but know that it's due to carb cutting so therefore water weight. I could have done better had I not consumed multiple Christmas chocolates daily! Never mind either way it's a good start from me I think. My plan for this week is to KOKO [keep on keeping on] minus the chocolate and to try to reduce my propensity to snack.
Well done everyone, we're on the road now so just need to stay on it.

Waves back to @recklessgran and@CurlsnSunshinetime4tea .

Start weight 14st 6.5lbs
Current 14st 2lb

I love your plan to KOKO @recklessgran. That's where I have gone wrong in the past. 18 months of thoughtful eating then comes a holiday, a birthday, an other celebration all close together and I take my eye off the ball.
Good planning everyone!

kirinm · 08/01/2024 09:21

Morning.

3lb loss for me. I've fluctuated around the 15.4 mark quite often so I think this is probably water weight. Once I get below 15.4lb I know I'm losing properly.

I am happy enough with this. I only exercised twice and haven't been properly calorie counting. I've been sticking to IF but have sometimes had to extend the hours due to work or getting home late etc.

Hoping to increase exercise and be a bit tighter with food this week. Another decent loss would definitely act as good motivation.

This is week 1 for me after my DS had an absolutely horrendous sickness bug last week! Last night I kept waking myself up from snoring... Something that has been happening more frequently from weight gain. I'm only 34, I have to change things now.

I'm down two pounds this week, making a total loss of 5 lbs.

Can I join? Need the accountability…

SW 12 st 3

Doing dry January and keeping a hand written journal so I can highlight all the cake/biscuits/crisps I usually chomp 😀

First weigh in today

SW 12st 3lb
CW 11st 12lb
GW 10st ish

A 5lb loss. I'm really happy with that but just hope I can build on it and not slide back up, as I find it tricky in weeks 2-3 when initial enthusiasm wears off. Having others here to check in with is a great support though.

Hope everyone has a good day.

CW-101kg-15 stone 12.75 lb

I'll take that 2lb loss with my sluggish thyroid

GiantPigeon · 08/01/2024 12:47

So I initially weighed in 31.12.23 on my very old mechanical scales at 12st 7lbs.

I have been tracking my weight each day since and the weight has varied up or down so I decided to buy myself new digital "ultimate accuracy" scales this morning.

Just home and weighed myself, disappointingly my current weight is showing consistently as 84.50kg / 13st 4lbs / 186lbs

This is the heaviest I've ever been.

So I'm going to do a new SW today of 84.50kg / 13st 4lbs / 186lbs

Doing some calculators online and it seems for my height I should weigh about 64kg / 10st 1lb / 141lbs

So I have to lose 20.5kg / 3st 3lbs / 45lbs

Not feeling too happy about these numbers and think this will take me a long time to change. Had a pretty tough decade it feels like but keen to try and look after myself more going forward.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 08/01/2024 13:20

Well done everyone who made an effort last week, I'm only 3 days in and struggling!

Question - when do you start to feel lighter? it might be nice if posters when mentioning a loss, state that first moment they feel it, or what they could now achieve physically that wasn't possible before.

For me that feeling has to be the motivation as the change in how my body looks doesn't seem enough. I think I have become so detached to myself and avoid mirrors etc so examining my body will only lead to self loathing, even if I lose a few stone. I'm trying really hard this time to be only positive about this and enjoy my lighter body without hang ups.

suneetime · 08/01/2024 13:27

Great to see the thread so active. Hoping it will keep me motivated.

Happy with 2lbs off as I’ve still been working my way through the open boxes of chocolates. And Pringles! Going to put all the unopened goodies away out of sight now.

Hello sorry I'm late to the game but would like to join please. I am getting married in July and want to loose 2 and a half stone by then! My Hen is the week before Easter so if I even get to loose 2 stone by then I will be Thrilled!

Age: 31 Height 5"5

SW: 12.13
Goal weight: 10.7

I have signed up to park run and also joined a virtual challenge where my partner and I are going to "walk to our wedding" (its abroad) so need to try and walk 1238miles by July hoping by doing it together I will be motivated (to beat him haha).

Good luck everyone! I have tried to join these things before and always drift off hoping to keep to it this time I have no choice!

Edited

Your username made me salivate!!!!

That challenge sounds great, its tough when you have that bridal pressure on top of everything else.

First weigh in
SW 13 stone 4lb
CW 12 stone 10lb
GW 11 stone 1b my Easter then ultimately 10stone 1
I know a lot of that's water weight plus weighing first thing with less on instead of at night. This is where I lost it last time by eating junk and eating less in between and getting hangry.
Starting to do that this time so I need to sort myself out so I don't fall off the wagon

Satincat · 08/01/2024 15:27

Age: 40

Will weigh in every Monday (starting next week) and aim to use MFP to track calories/ exercise. Plus, doing dry Jan which I'm hoping will help kickstart the weight loss.

Good luck everyone!
