Oh dear. Do you think it's the vaccine then? I had read it can happen if you don't eat much and lose weight too quickly or if you don't eat enough protein.

SofieM0 · 26/10/2023 19:23

When I’ve had hair loss it’s been due to iron deficiency (and B12 but always low on that). So I would say lack of protein too, especially if eating more plant based.

On another symptom thread…constipation! I have not been to the toilet for 4 days and only just realised! I don’t feel stuffed or in pain but now slightly concerned. Anyone else having same number 2 troubles?!

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 26/10/2023 20:28

May I join in please? Took my first injection last Saturday. I didn’t have any side effects at first, but since yesterday I’ve had that feeling of being full right up to my throat, like when you’ve absolutely stuffed yourself.

I forced down porridge for lunch and then wasn’t really hungry at dinner. I managed to eat about 2/3 of dinner anyway but now I feel quite nauseous.

Edinburgal · 26/10/2023 20:32

@Starlightstarbright2 i got mine from boots and they gave me a sharps box when i collected, i didnt pay for it.

Edinburgal · 26/10/2023 20:36

I took week 3 pen on Monday and today i ordered my next pen. Iv gone up to 0.5. Boots have said it may take 5 days for delivery to the local chemist so im glad iv still got my 4th pen.

Iv not really had any side affects.

I think im about 4/5lbs down. Once i can get lower than 13 stone i think il feel more positive that its working as i hope. I was 13 stone 6 this morning so im not a million miles away.

Welcome! I haven't had that full feeling yet.

Do you feel bloated? I'm definitely going less...but also eating less.

SofieM0 · 26/10/2023 22:45

@Tailfeather yes a little tonight and that’s what made me realise. I am also eating less but still enough to have gone by now. I’ve taken a herbal supplement this eve so let’s hope that gets things going!!

EweCee · 27/10/2023 07:42

Gah, my weight has gone up the last few days! I know it's a trend over time that it's important, but I had hit my first 5kg loss goal and now its gone up and I'm only 3kgs down today. Psychologically its screwing with my head as I'm restricting calories as well and SHOULD be losing more, not gaining again, so its demotivating. Anyone else have this issue?

Tailfeather · 27/10/2023 08:12

@EweCee Aaaw. That's frustrating. I'm only on week 2 and trying to weigh just once a week, so I wont know until Monday.

Weight can obviously fluctuate but I know all too well how disheartening it is when you put on - compared to how motivating it is to see a loss. Keep going! X

SofieM0 · 27/10/2023 10:52

@EweCee Ive also stopped weighing daily for this very reason! As long as I’ve lost something, even half a lb each week then I’m happy. I can fluctuate 3-4lb each day and it does mess with you. There’s also the danger it brings with demotivation that you think eff it and fall off the wagon. Keep going and try to weigh less! Hopefully you feel better? and measure smaller (if you took measurements) so don’t rely fully on scales x

whenlifegivesyou · 28/10/2023 07:02

@SofieM0 omg yes!!! I went four days this week felt hideous took lots of otc laxatives (well not lots but different types) and thank GOD I then went twice. I'd taken two senna after three days with zero result 😳 this is horrible- meant to be going up to 0.5mg today but I'm worried if constipation is like this on 0.25mg is it wise to go up??

SofieM0 · 28/10/2023 09:09

@whenlifegivesyou ive no idea if it gets worse or better if you’re used to it?

I had to take 3 laxatives as well, I did finally give birth to an actual rock last night!! still recovering this morning! Think I'm going to start taking a herbal supplement each night as a precaution. I definitely feel bloated again already.

let me know how you get on if you do increase!

FattyPattyBumBum · 21/10/2023 11:11

Am taking my second injection today. The first definitely wore off by about weds. I have lost 2lbs so I guess it's heading the the right direction 🙂

3rd injection for me today.
Last week was 14st 13
Today 14st 7 - so a big loss of 6lbs which I don't expect to be able to keep having each week.

I am absolutely loving not having my thoughts constantly turning to food, which tbh before taking this, I never realised was happening, but now I don't think about it I am not mentally searching what is in the cupboards that I can shovel in. It is meaning that I am more productive in other areas of life, including work. This is a revelation. I feel so sad that that is where my brain was at before this and that maybe it is true that at some level I will need to use it to maintain the abstinence of these thoughts.
I have been eating small but twice a day and been able to consider whether to have something without that knawing craving getting the better of me.

Is it due to where you are in your monthly cycle? I haven't completed a whole month yet but I know that it does affect me.

FattyPattyBumBum · 28/10/2023 10:44

@SofieM0 this was my concern about taking it as I had similar on saxanda. I don't know what is 'normal' on these kind of drugs. I'm just trusting that going less is normal 🤷

SofieM0 · 28/10/2023 10:51

@FattyPattyBumBum great loss well done!!
On the toilet thread…yea I expected to go less but still go and it be ‘normal’. I must’ve been on day 5 or 6 and I was bloated and don’t think I’d have gone without the lax but defo needed to. And honestly I thought I was going to pass out on the toilet hahaha - I weighed myself after and I had lost 1lb !! I’ve not experienced this type of constipation before so it’s got to be the injection.
im going to take supplement each day now to see how that helps! Good luck with your next week!

Tailfeather · 28/10/2023 12:48

Has anyone drank alcohol yet? I haven't since starting, but going to a dinner party tonight and would normally have a few glasses of wine. I've read lots of posts online of it making people sick.

EweCee · 28/10/2023 17:39

@FattyPattyBumBum thanks, but no, no periods here (post menopausal due to cancer surgery and hence the horrible weight gain despite my relative young age).

And yes to constipation like PP - trying to tell ,self that’s why weight plateaued already in week 4 as I haven’t been in DAYS!!

@Tailfeather I have had a medium glass of wine on two occasions over the past 4 weeks. Not sick at all, but regretted the empty calories!

SofieM0 · 28/10/2023 19:12

I’ve had one alcoholic drink and was fine. But I expected to be on one!
I have two hen weekends coming up so I’m unsure what to do - just take it easy and drink lots of water I think. All common sense points to being ill though…less food, dehydration etc.

glad I’m not the only ones be suffering with the loo too 🤣

Tailfeather · 28/10/2023 19:54

I'm 1 glass of champagne and a few glasses of red wine in. 😬 Will stick to water now and report back. I realise that it's empty calories, but I want to enjoy myself at the odd party. I feel fine...so far...! 🤞

@EweCee I had cancer too. I was 33 and the early menopause and my medication are what caused me to put on the weight I am now desperate to lose. It also makes it very difficult for me to lose weight. I hope you are doing well now (touch wood etc).

regularmumnotacoolmum · 28/10/2023 20:33

I started Wegovy yesterday... haven't noticed much of a difference to my appetite yet. I picked a bad day to start as I'm staying bf with family for the weekend. We had a cooked breakfast but thankfully not fried. I had 1 egg shakshuka, 2 lean sausages, a hash brown, beans and mushrooms. I counted that as breakfast and lunch together and had roast chicken with veg this evening along with 3 small roast potatoes. My downfall was the homemade apple crumble with custard- I couldn't refuse as it would have been rude but kept my portion small. I felt a little nauseous today but no other side effects so far. We will leave by lunch time tomorrow to return home so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day with the eating.

EweCee · 28/10/2023 22:57

@Tailfeather sorry to hear you have suffered too, and at same age as me! Ovarian cancer? That was mine, but thankfully cancer free now. I hope you are too? Its dreadful isn't it, the treatment saves your life but causes soooo many problems, including the weight gain and bodies inability to lose it! So here we are....

Enjoy your party and drinks, you are right, we still have to enjoy ourselves!
