Took my first 0.25 dose last night. Didn't feel any sort of side effects yesterday.
Today I've felt a little bit nauseous but nothing too terrible.
I'm still thinking about food, so food noise is still there for now.
However, I went for some breakfast this morning at a local cafe. I got pancakes. Usually I would finish most, if not all, food on my plate. But this time, I couldn't. It was the most bizarre feeling! The serving was 3 pancakes, and I ate one and a bit. I physically couldn't eat anymore, or I would have been sick. I can't remember the last time I left more than half a meal on my plate

I've been on it for 4 months and this is my experience. I get hungry, but feel completely satisfied on a much smaller portion. It's weird when you've bern brought up to finish every last morsel on your plate.

Well…..I’m just back from a weeks holiday and have weighed myself. Granted I’ve enjoyed myself a lot and drank a fair bit, including having fizzy juice all week. I’ve gained 1 stone!!!! In a week!!! I forgot to take the dose on the day I was flying so kinda screwed my self over and had 3 course dinners most nights but man alive I didn’t expect that!

i feel disgusting and I’ve just turned 40.

in was on the highest dose so not sure where to start now?? Will email boots pharmacy and ask! X

Don't worry to much, it'll come off quicker than you'd expect. Increased carbs/salt cause you to retain water.

When DH and I eloped in 2016, we spent a week in New York and I gained a stone, and he gained TWENTY pounds. In one week! We had been dieting (and limiting carbs) in the run up so eating our way around NYC combined with bloat from flying caused us to stack it on. Our honeymoon photos are like a Very Hungry Caterpillar flip book 😂

It all came back off within two weeks though!

tinker2190 · 03/02/2024 18:00

First week of 0.25 and I'm 7lbs down. Can't believe this! Both amazed and super happy but also hoping it slows down over the next couple of weeks to a slower reduction in weight. It has definitely suppressed my appetite with the nausea.

spamm · 03/02/2024 18:40

So I did my 4th injection of Mounjaro yesterday. I am now down 5lbs

SW: 201.8
Week1: 200.0
Week 2: 198.8
Week 3: 196.8

It is slow but steady. I now have a prescription for 5.0, starting next Friday, and I hope that will help with the hunger that starts creeping in by mid week.

So far, minor side effects with reduced pooping, but I just take some gummies once a week just to make sure I am not getting constipated. The one area I am struggling with is that I don't think I am drinking enough water. But part of my diabetes was that I tend to drink a lot, because I am so thirsty, so maybe this is a sign that my blood sugars are coming a bit better under control. I am really trying to make sure I stay hydrated.

amusedbush · 04/02/2024 11:03

I have seen a few mentions of sulphur burps/reflux and I thought I would update as I finally managed to cure mine. I'd already cut out possible trigger foods so I thought the symptoms were just an unavoidable side effect of Wegovy but it turned out to be caused by diluting juice (aka squash/cordial).

I have never been able to drink plain water and generally don't drink anywhere near enough but I had been proud of myself for managing 2L a day - ice cold with lemon (lightbulb moment...!) Robinson's in it. I switched to strawberry flavour and the symptoms disappeared literally overnight.

If you're suffering with heartburn/sulphur burps, don't forget to consider your drinks 😬

Kickstartplease · 04/02/2024 11:24

Hi all, I hope everyone is still doing well. My weight loss has slowed down a bit but I am still happy.
I am still on the 0:5 dose as I decided to stick with that & I also take 10 days apart rather than 7
I have lost 26lbs in 3 months but I am due to weigh again (I kind of check most days but at different times of the day).
I am 5ft 10 & my starting weight was 17st 3lbs
I use Zava & they have introduced 3 pen packs so I have the next 3 waiting but I might need to order another 1mg dose as I am moving through the bands more slowly.
I do worry about the expense but decided that my health is worth so much more, particularly as my youngest has special needs & will probably never be able to live independently

Hello, I’m new here. I’ve been reading lots of posts and eventually plucked up the courage to buy Wegovy and I took my first dose this morning.

how long does it usually take for it to work, see the results of appetite suppressant? I haven’t ate as much today, but I don’t feel any symptoms or noticeably different.

Some people feel it straight away, some don't feel it much/at all until they're on a full dose (5 months) and 15% never feel the impact. It's all subjective I'm afraid!

Striving4Better · 05/02/2024 17:55

End of Week 3 and down half a pound for the week.

Obviously not a huge loss, but going in the right direction. However, I did have a diarrhoea evening the night before which could have been responsible. This felt more like my body's usual reaction to eating healthy meals rather than anything Wegovy-related. I took diarrhoea-relief tablet and have been fine overnight and today.

I also brought forward my injection to Sunday evening from Monday morning. This was a good plan - I had a nice sleep last night and went for a swim this morning for the first time in two weeks.

I thought about going up to 0.5 on schedule next week, but think actually I will stick at 0.25. I'm feeling quite good at the moment, my food intake is under control and I'm doing a bit of exercise. The point of taking the drug was because I was gripped by emotional eating and needed to sort my health out. Weight loss might be slow (after the first week), but I feel I am more healthy. So it's actually doing what I wanted it to do. Let's see how it goes.

Babbleon46 · 03/02/2024 11:51

Hello! I started Wegovy just over a week ago and took my second dose on Thursday evening. I’m not convinced that the shot was administered correctly. I didn’t see a drop of liquid on the needle but injected anyway and saw a drop of liquid after I had injected. Today I have been feeling hungry and I don’t have the thirst I had on week one with my first dose.

has anyone else had this and what did you do?

How are you feeling now? Did the pen click back to zero when you injected? Have a look at the pen - the grey plunger will be halfway across the window if two doses have been released.

It can be difficult to tell with the lower doses as it's so quick and a fairly small amount of liquid. There's no mistaking it with the higher doses; I'm on 1.7mg and it takes lot longer for all the liquid to release. I can actually hear it going glug... glug... under my skin 🤢

DontUseYourNose · 07/02/2024 14:03

Good Lord. I'm on week 5 of 0.25 of Ozempic and this drug is insane. I can hardly eat all weekend and not in a good way. I'm fretting about staying hydrated and keeping my blood sugar in check and eating enough protein. When I don't keep everything in check I get horrendous migraines and it's just dreadful.

I was supposed to take 0.5 this week but I'm so glad I didn't. I'm losing weight of course but it feels quite extreme. I've had to force myself to eat an egg and some toast today and I just don't like it being such an effort to eat. I'm not sure is it the medicine building up that's causing it to be so much worse in the last week or so? I'm hoping it will be less strong next week but I'm also thinking about maybe not injecting again for another 9 or 10 days to see if that helps.

Nootkah · 07/02/2024 16:14

@DontUseYourNose I also had a really strong reaction for the first month or so, like literally felt stuffed after one quarter of a piece of toast. It definitely lessened. I'm 5 months in now, and not hungry ever, but could definitely eat more than I should if I'm not careful. I have about 250 cal for breakfast, 350 cal for lunch, then normal family dinner.

Radish12 · 08/02/2024 08:01

Good morning, hope everyone's doing well. I am feeling the effects of the 1.0 dose this week (week 2), with the odd wave of nausea and the other night I drank a glass of water after the gym and felt so full and bloated I had to take myself to bed early to just sleep it off! I think I might try splitting the dose this week.

I am feeling good about myself though. I was at a yoga class last night and my stomach felt so flat when I was lying on my side - it doesn't flop onto the floor anymore Confused I actually feel better than I look though if that makes sense - I catch sight of myself in the mirror and it's a stark reminder of how far I still have to go. I suppose they do say you feel it before you see it - just got to keep going!

Sharpster84 · 08/02/2024 23:24

Hi guys,

Newbie here :) I've been following this thread for a few months now and I was inspired to start Wegovy.

I started on 5th of January on the 0.25 and I'm currently heading towards week 6 now on the 0.5 but I've lost an amazing 18lbs :) I'm a big lad 155 kilos I started at and I know the journey is long but honestly I'm so impressed by the magical medication even if it is costing me £180 a month.

I've had minimal side effects diarrhoea and constipation is about it but only mildly. I've eat very clean fruit, veg, fish that sort of stuff.

I have just 1 question.. Does anybody else feel as tho they can sleep for England? I fall asleep and I can sleep for absolutely hours, I wake up and still feel tired :(

Good luck too you all on this incredible journey :)

SofieM0 · 09/02/2024 09:20

Good work so far @Sharpster84 !
I don’t have the tiredness but I have heard others say the same and I see it on the Facebook groups often too, so you’re not alone.

amusedbush · 09/02/2024 14:32

It's nice to see so many new names on the thread - welcome! I love hearing how everyone is getting on.

I took my final dose of 1.7mg this morning so, after a bit of umming and ahhing, I've decided to move up to 2.4 next week. If anyone else is concerned that Wegovy might stop working as their body gets used to it, I really recommend this great video:

4

The creator has genuine, relevant credentials and he has put my mind at ease.

Today's weigh in was a good one: I have lost 37lbs in 14 weeks and I am officially the lightest I have been in my adult life! I have been varying levels of obese since I was a teenager, with the exception of a very unhealthy (and short-lived) period in 2017 when I reached 12st 3. The fat is just melting and clothes that fitted a few weeks ago are now baggy. I'm living in leggings and cheap t-shirts/hoodies because my bank account can't keep up with my wardrobe 😅

Mecheng2 · 09/02/2024 21:03

This thread has been really helpful for me and inspired me to add my first ever mumsnet post!
I have just finished week 3 of 0.25 dose of wegovy. First 2 weeks lost 7lbs in total, but nothing this week despite sticking to 1000 Cals a day max so a little disappointed today. Although I don’t feel hungry I still have desire to eat out of habit - when I walk past biscuits etc. Did this change for anyone with higher dose ? Overall i am still happy to be down 7 lbs and feel positive

spamm · 09/02/2024 21:06

I have just completed my 4th week (on Mounjaro):

SW (12 Jan): 201.8
CW: 196.6

It's only 5.2lbs in 4 weeks, which feels a little frustrating - but it is 5+lbs. Importantly, I am still eating healthily and tracking after 4 weeks, which is different to when I have tried diets. Tonight I am moving from 2.5mg Mounjaro to 5.0 Mounjaro, and I hoping it has effect throughout the week. Right now, the effects wear off by middle of the week and I am more hungry and find it more challenging to stay on track.

I am definitely more motivated as well, and I have been going to the gym to do weights work and also Yoga classes. I think I have more energy, but I am trying not to kid myself too much. Let's see how I feel on the 5.0 dose.

SofieM0 · 10/02/2024 08:26

@amusedbush so great to hear your progress! Amazing results! I’m slightly behind at 16 weeks and 30 lbs I think but still feel great, baggy clothes and the lightest I’ve been for well over a decade if not 2!

@Mecheng2 some weeks you’ll lose, others you won’t. I have also gained but overall I’m losing. Your body’s still getting used to it at that dose and yes all the effects do get better (some side effects worse) as you move up the doses.

Mookie81 · 10/02/2024 18:51

Started 14 st 3pds, now 12 st 9pds after 14 weeks. Have 1 more jab of the second round of 1ml. Will move up to 1.7ml next time but nervous about possible symptoms.

PurpleFlower1983 · 10/02/2024 19:07

Today the the first day of week 9 for me, lost 17lbs so far.

flouncymcflouncerson · 11/02/2024 01:02

I’ve had to restart after over two weeks off due to a holiday and forgetting to inject before going away.

Weight has increased in that time and even in the last week. Will take todays as starting and that was 15st4lbs.

Here we go again!

DontUseYourNose · 11/02/2024 07:23

I was supposed to start week 6 yesterday. I've stayed on 0.25 because it's working (-9lb in 5 weeks) but mainly because the headaches are really severe and I couldn't bear doubling the dose.

I've not had a headache since last night which is bliss. I'm trying to decide whether to give up or keep going.

Has anyone found they've pushed through the headaches and they've eased up? If anything mine have gotten worse over the weeks. I'm very sad. I was prescribed this because I have numerous medical issues that make weight management hard for me and I'd really hoped it would work for me.

maya1983 · 11/02/2024 08:13

Hi all, I've started Wegovy today, I have one pen with 4 separate needles (one for each week), I was supposed to count until 6 but the liquid/grey line wasn't moving so I counted twice! Hopefully this doesn't count as a double dose 😅Anyone else using this kind of pen? I'd prefer to have one pen (with a single does) each week. Anyone else starting this week? :)
This is my first time using medication for weightless.
