Yes on the 2 stone mark 🎉@Tailfeather great work! I hope you celebrate with a nice piece of fruit haha 😝.

Tailfeather · 30/01/2024 12:17

Ha! Just realised 24lbs isn't 2 stone!! But I have lost 2 stone so have gone wrong somewhere on my list of losses! Doh! Anyway! 28lbs off now! Not 24!

SofieM0 · 30/01/2024 13:46

Oh yeah I don’t pick that up either!!

DontUseYourNose · 30/01/2024 13:55

@tinker2190 So I spoke to my consultant who said it's likely how I'm eating that's causing the migraines rather than the drug itself. He said to ensure I'm eating small amounts of carbohydrates every 4-6 hours to avoid blood sugar slumps that can cause migraines. So I'm going to buy some crackers and fruit and hope for the best!

That's good to know it's not the drug. I suffer with a large volume of migraines and had a good two weeks prior to start wegovy so glad it's just a coincidence.

Im day 4 post injection and very hungry. Nausea side effects have gone. Trying to stay within calories but finding it difficult

LemonKitten · 30/01/2024 15:05

You're all doing so well! I've ordered my first pen - it arrives next Wednesday (I wouldn't be around to accept delivery until then). I'm hoping if I start on a Wednesday, I can avoid it wearing off so much over the weekend! Thank you for your advice and for sharing your results, I hope I can be the person tha helps someone else in future.

Titwillow55 · 30/01/2024 20:15

I’m having brilliant results with splitting the dose over two injections a week. Really seems to be better for keeping the effects constant and the side effects minimal. So rather than the whole dose in one day I inject half on a Tuesday and half on a Saturday. By counting the clicks and I bought a box of needles off Amazon.

on the 1mg pen now and no side effects and a good constant appetite suppression over the week.

amusedbush · 30/01/2024 20:23

That’s really interesting @Titwillow55, I actually searched the Wegovy subreddit for experiences of exactly that but couldn’t find anyone who was doing it. I struggled with the earlier doses wearing off quickly so it is something I have considered if the same happens further down the line.

Hi
Can you link to needles please? Might try this! Are the clicks the same whatever your dose level?
If not how can you count the clicks the first usage of a new dose?
Thanks!

Tailfeather · 30/01/2024 23:18

@Titwillow55 I was also going to ask for a link please as there seem to be different sizes.

Tailfeather · 30/01/2024 23:19

@sleepwouldbenice This is a click chart taken from another thread here. I checked the clicks on my 1mg pen and they tally!

These are the needles I bought. I really recommend dosing twice a week it’s definitely levelled everything out for me and on the lower doses stopped it wearing off so fast.

that click chart looks good above. But also you can literally just take your pen, twist it to the dose (counting the clicks) and then twist it back to zero. Then count out half the number of clicks and inject.

I played around with the titration schedule by moving up to 0.5mg one week early. I did the standard 4 weeks at 0.5mg but in weeks 6 and 7 I also added half a dose from the leftover 0.25mg pen to make it ~0.63mg.

I bought these needles: https://www.chemist-4-u.com/glucorx-finepoint-needles-32g-4mm-pack-of-100. They feel a little bit more clunky than the Novo branded ones but they do the job. You can usually find discount codes for Chemist4U, too.

Thanks again @Titwillow55, you have put my mind at ease. I'm 1.5 weeks into 1.7mg and, so far, it's not wearing off like the lower doses did but I feel much better about splitting the dose if that changes.

Titwillow55 · 31/01/2024 11:07

Yes 32g 4mm needles is what I have. They’re maybe a smidge longer than the standard needle that comes with them but not so that you’d notice really. They do the job perfectly.

I'm on my 2nd week of 1mg, wow the appetite suppressant is insane! I am struggling to eat at all and having to force a banana in around lunch time and then a very tiny portion for evening meal. Whoever mentioned the migraines I can't remember sorry but I had a terrible one the other day.

I am going under general anaesthetic in a few weeks and have read online that it can interfere with making sure you stomach is empty so I need to stop 3 weeks prior so I'm going to have to save my last 2 x 1mg doses for afterwards. I'm hoping it's ok to have that break (I had an almost 3 week break over Xmas on the 0.5mg and it was fine so hoping so)

You can't go back into 1mg after 3 weeks up. There's a reason we start on low and gradually increase.

cloppyklip · 31/01/2024 19:52

I wondered that but was fine going back to 0.5 after 3 weeks off, is there a way to do less clicks to get a smaller dose does anyone know?

TryAgainWithFeeling · 01/02/2024 21:42

Right, well done everyone who is finding this works for them but sadly I’m out. 0.5 does nothing for me, 1mg makes me vomit constantly - which does lose weight but not really how I want to do it!

Tailfeather · 01/02/2024 21:43

Do you think we need to notify our travel insurance that we are on Wegovy? I went away at New Year and it didn't cross my mind. But I'm going to the States next weekend, and suddenly worried I should let them know....

Yes, you have to declare any medication

Maybe 0.75?

SofieM0 · 02/02/2024 06:55

@Tailfeather Didn’t cross my mind either and I travelled all Christmas. Let me know if you do and if they were interested…

Pushkinini · 02/02/2024 07:12

I've just taken out travel insurance for an upcoming trip. I have to use Staysure after I had cancer 4 years ago. Wasn't asked for a list of medication anywhere and there was nowhere to volunteer that info either.
