Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

Me please! Amazed at everyone's progress. I weighed myself yesterday and I was 99kg. At my best I was 84kg but that must have been 4 years ago. I'd say peri menopause has had an impact as the weight just stays on plus I'm relatively tall so it doesn't look that bad/i didnt notice. But the scales don't lie so I'm going to have to do something!

Cookiedough123 · 09/09/2023 08:15

Great weigh in this morning.. 14st 5.8! So that’s 15lbs in total down so far! Plus I’m out of the obese BMI category! Got a busy weekend which is what I find hardest!!

@Hyppogriffthats great! It’s hot here too I’m in the north west! I think it’s going to cool down Monday!

@borninthe80esss yes welcome! Easy doable! Some weeks I lose 1lb some weeks I lose 2lb so maybe you will hit your goal sooner!

@Loopylooni absolutely join! 99kg is approx the same start weight as me. I always think when I’m in the middle of losing weight.. why didn’t I keep it up at the time!

@Hyppogriff thanks, will check it out 😊

@Cookiedough123 so close! Congratulations for downgrading a category! I have no idea what I need to lose to downgrade

Been a bit of a naughty week for me, have had KFC and pizza due to late afternoon appointments and no time to cook something decent 🫣 will weigh on Monday to see what the damage is

Bumblebeebum23 · 09/09/2023 08:43

Well done everyone 👏 great progress @Cookiedough123 you must be thrilled..
Unfortunately, I am feeling absolutely rubbish 🤒 Went to the doctors yesterday and I have a blocked salivary gland under my tongue. It is so painful and uncomfortable. The only bonus is that it hurts so much to eat and drink that there hasn't been any desire to overeat. I did a sneaky early weigh in this morning and I'm 14st 0.25lbs so over a stone and a half lost now and so close to moving out of the 14s. Really hoping I'm feeling better soon, though, because it is miserable 😕

Hyppogriff · 09/09/2023 21:01

Oh @Bumblebeebum23 that sounds rotten!! Hopefully you’ll have a weigh in silver lining!

Sugarfree23 · 09/09/2023 22:16

@Cookiedough123 That's fantastic to be out of obese category. You must be quite tall I'm 5ft 2ish and still obese, hovering around 30.8.

@Bumblebeebum23 hope you are better soon.

This morning I weighted in at 12st 6. Was a little lower on Thursday but still down from last week. Overall trend is going in the right direction.

Cookiedough123 · 10/09/2023 11:10

We had an all day do yesterday which involved drinking and food. Scales this morning showed a 3lb increase!

@TeddyBeans hopefully you get a good weigh in! I’ve still been having some meals and days out and im sure it’s slowed the loss down a little but fingers crossed you still get a loss!

@Bumblebeebum23 not good on the illness.. hope you feel better soon!

@Sugarfree23 im around 5ft 8. Well done on your loss! Maybe if you keep getting lower mid week you could change your weigh day to your low day?

Loopylooni · 10/09/2023 16:42

@Cookiedough123 thank you for your words. I felt so depressed about my weight. 100kg! Its crazy and I need to life overhaul. Back to eggs and smoothies....

Sugarfree23 · 11/09/2023 08:08

@Cookiedough123 Yip thought you must be quite tall.
3lb overnight has to be water retention, extra salt etc you'll drop that over the next few days.

@Loopylooni 100kg is a lot and didn't go on overnight, so won't come off overnight. Mini micro goals, first one get under 3 digits.

I am literally going for every goal I can find. I've two apps one gives me st lb the other converts to kg. So I'm always aiming for the next lb or kg

Monday is official weigh in been good this weekend.
12st 5.5lb which is about 2lb down from last week. Happy Dance! 😊

Bumblebeebum23 · 11/09/2023 08:11

Well, Monday weigh in 13st 12lb. I should be thrilled....out of the 14s and 1st 11lbs total loss but unfortunately, I am aware that this loss is primarily due to being unwell and am under no illusion that some of this may go back on when I can actually eat properly again.

Sugarfree23 · 11/09/2023 10:35

@Bumblebeebum23 some might but if you are careful with diet maybe not.
I have a cousin who jump started an 6st loss with an illness that made her drop a stone. She felt better without it and went on to drop another 5 and has never regained years later.

Bumblebeebum23 · 11/09/2023 13:53

Thank you for your positivity and support @Sugarfree23 ❤️ I'm just in so much pain. ENT at Hospital tomorrow because nothing has helped 😢 feeling very sorry for myself

Sugarfree23 · 11/09/2023 15:14

Hopefully the hospital will fix you up tomorrow.

TeddyBeans · 12/09/2023 07:33

@Bumblebeebum23 hope the hospital can sort you out, it sounds very painful 💐

Well done to everyone for the losses so far!

I weighed yesterday and was 101.1kg, weighed this morning and I'm down to 100.5kg. Think I'll start weighing at the end of the week because I eat more crap at the weekends 🤔

Cookiedough123 · 12/09/2023 08:34

Down to 14st 6.2 so only .4 off till back to normal! Just catching up whilst stuck in traffic! I’m officially back at work at the end of maternity leave! Wow! What a shock to the system! On the plus I’ve managed to stick to fasting and eat my lunch at about 1pm, haven’t been finding it too hard yet. I just find by the end of the day I’m knackered and struggling to get my steps in. Can’t see it getting any easier when winter rolls in!

@Bumblebeebum23 1st 11 loss is AMAZING!! I also know people who’ve lost weight due to illness and kept it off! Hope you’re feeling better soon and the hospital appointment helps.

@Sugarfree23 im a bit like that with apps. I log my weight in about three apps! Libra, happy scale and then MyFitnessPal because it syncs with Fitbit then!

@TeddyBeans i think that’s a good idea! At least then you will be able to see your loss better! Although you’ve still lost 1.3lbs which is really good!

@Loopylooni hope you had a good Monday! I felt the same at the end of July the heaviest I had ever been. I’m 6 weeks on and 1 stone lighter and already feel much better mentally and physically! It’s starting that’s the hardest!

Sugarfree23 · 12/09/2023 09:27

@TeddyBeans I do my official weigh-in on a Monday so it keeps me focused over the weekend. And keeps me making good choices when I'm out.

@Cookiedough123 my scales have an app which syncs to Samsung Health, and it syncs to MFP although I never look at the weights on it.
Recently Ive started using some even fancier scales at the gym that also have an app.

There is a difference between what my scales say and the gyms. But I go with mine because those are the ones I've always gone with.
But I think the gyms are probably better at doing the muscle / fat split.

You'd think I was training for the Olympics the amount of data I collect. But hey ho every point of a pound counts!

It is commendable that you have started your own thread and shared your progress with us. Congratulations on achieving your weight loss goals, as it is truly a remarkable accomplishment. I also want to lose weight and my target weight loss is around 31 lbs. It is fantastic how you are utilizing various apps like Happy Scales, Zero, MyFitnessPal, and Fitbit to support you on this journey, I’ll also try these Apps. I am inspired by your commitment to fasting, tracking calories diligently, and actively striving towards meeting step goals. @Sugarfree23 I don't have enough willpower to do it day in, day out 🤣 think that's why I've always struggled in the past. I have a nice balance now (for me). I can still have cake when I fancy it and because the majority of the week is restricted, it doesn't actually make that much difference that I have had cake 😁

doingmyutmost · 13/09/2023 11:43

Well done all. Get well soon @Bumblebeebum23. Fallen off the wagon a bit here diet-wise but will get back on. Trying not to be too hard on myself and take it one step at a time

Sugarfree23 · 13/09/2023 12:04

I fall of the wagon on a regular basis but trying really hard to stay on and keep going. I know my downfalls are hitting milestones, half stone, stone, but need to do it.

Many reasons for me to loose weight, the usual, looks, health, kids etc.

Came home my summer holiday to 13st 1 which is huge for me at 5ft 2. And started thinking about next winter, last winter I was bursting out my ski stuff, not a good look, and I'm refusing to buy new stuff, so need to do something about it.

Sugarfree23 · 13/09/2023 12:37

That first paragraph is missing a bit.
Hit milestones then loosing focus.

doingmyutmost · 14/09/2023 08:42

13lbs this morning. Whoop! That's another 2lbs down this week.

doingmyutmost · 14/09/2023 10:07

13st 🙈

Cookiedough123 · 14/09/2023 10:25

I’m being a bit dramatic here but I’ve been stuck at 14st 6lb for a couple of days and waiting for a whoosh!! Hopefully it comes soon 🤞🤞

@Sugarfree23 i love data too 😂 it keeps me motivated!!

@timmothysmith01 thank you! I made it to be accountable to myself! Good luck with your weight loss journey 🙏

@doingmyutmost brilliant well done!! I’m already looking forward to moving down to the next bracket which is 6lbs away for me!

Sugarfree23 · 14/09/2023 10:39

@doingmyutmost brilliant! Yeah another mini target hit.

@Cookiedough123 remember you gain a little just before your period. Could it be that time of the month?
Don't take your eye off the ball. Staying the same is much better than going up.
