Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

Thanks @Cookiedough123 and @Sugarfree23.

@Cookiedough123 I echo what @Sugarfree23 says, time of the month can have a huge impact. I don't 'deserve' my 2LB loss this week, but I think it's coincided with the right point in my cycle. I fully expect to really struggle next week and I'm trying to use it to push me to hold on to my motivation! 🤞🏻 for your whoosh!

TeddyBeans · 15/09/2023 07:35

@doingmyutmost nice work!

@Cookiedough123 I remember hitting a plateau before the summer. It's really disheartening but it'll come off eventually!

I decided to see whether my end of the week prediction would be right. I've gone from 101.5 to 99.6kg just by weighing on Friday instead of at the beginning of the week. I'm under 100kg! 🥳 next target is 1kg a week until I hit 90kg. So that should be by the 24th November 🤞

Cookiedough123 · 16/09/2023 08:56

Scales went down to 14st 4.4 this morning! Last Sunday was my last low of 5.8 so it’s taken all week to get it off! I love when I get my new lows, luckily I don’t have much on really this weekend to sabotage myself. My next goal is to hit the 13s!

Total loss so far (week 7) - 16lbs! 34 to go!

@TeddyBeans well done under 100kg is fantastic! Do you feel any different yet? Some of my clothes are fitting better (a little!) but I wouldn’t say it’s noticeable yet!

@doingmyutmost im still over a week off AF so I think it was just water weight a bit stuck! But no doubt I will be moaning next week when it comes saying I haven’t lost 😂

@Cookiedough123 16lb down is amazing. You must be seeing that somewhere.

I'm currently 12st 4.4 well that was yesterday and the day before. From mid July 11 weeks I'm about 11lb down. I have had one week I gained.
But I feel like I am struggling to stay on the wagon at the moment.

Cookiedough123 · 16/09/2023 10:35

@Sugarfree23 i think when you have done it for a few months you find your motivation start to waver! I keep thinking about how much I could lose by Christmas. What is it you’re struggling with? 11lbs is brilliant you are so close to 1 stone!

Cookiedough123 · 17/09/2023 07:01

Early Sunday morning weigh in this morning which was 14st 3.6 - yay!

This is a very inspirational thread, can I join please?

@Cookiedough123 I've had lots of success fasting in the past, you just reminded me that being consistent and keeping up with it is the key, so thank you for that! Also, I love your graphs!

I've weighed myself this morning and im 73.3 kg (11st 7.5). It's the biggest number I've ever seen. I've always weighed myself daily, and I'm just watching the numbers creep up and up. Time to do something about it!

My goal weight is 55kg (about 8st 9), so I've got nearly 3st to lose, or 40 lbs... it seems quite a lot written down like that!

I too intend to do 8:16, I do it most days anyway, but snacking is my downfall so I need to keep it in check! Will aim for 1400-1600 calories a day as well.

Bumblebeebum23 · 17/09/2023 09:48

Hi all, sorry I've been a bit absent from the thread.

Sounds like everyone is doing amazingly. Well done!

Just to update...I had my ENT appointment on Tues and they removed a huge salivary gland stone! Luckily, instant relief (other than a bit of soreness/tiredness). But no wonder I had been in so much pain!

Anyway...I'm out for a belated birthday meal today and haven't been following my usual fasting schedule this week due to antibiotics/recovering, so I'm not hopeful for a loss tomorrow. However, I am going to reset and start again next week, feeling re-energised and focussed.

Cookiedough123 · 17/09/2023 10:48

@OwlsDance yes please do join! I’ve never fasted before so I’m quite impressed at so far how easy it has been. I’ve found with my work lunch time being 1pm and eating tea at the same time as my little boy I seem to find it pretty easy to stick to! 40lbs is doable! You can do it! It’s rubbish when you get on the scale and see your highest weight ever.. that was me too in July!

@Bumblebeebum23 no wonder you were in pain that sounds awful! At least you will be on the mend now! Enjoy your birthday meal!! I think we are also eating out tonight.. can’t wait!

@Cookiedough123 well done, keep chipping away at those numbers

@Bumblebeebum23 glad they have sorted you. Must have been really uncomfortable, sore.

Bumblebeebum23 · 18/09/2023 07:47

Well, as expected, a gain this week 🙄 14st this morning (but did have a huge roast, rhubarb crumble and custard, chocolate, and a sandwich yesterday). Birthday celebrated ✔️ feeling better ✔️ so back in the game today. Hopefully back to a loss next Monday

Sugarfree23 · 18/09/2023 08:04

I've stayed the same, I dipped in the middle of the week but came back up to staying the same. Hey-ho at least its not a gain.

Hey all, just checking in and great hearing everyone's updates. I managed a 3kg loss in the last week. This was mainly eating lower breakfasts, walking more despite my plantar fasciitis and trying to drink more water. Still heavy but getting there ....

SW 101.5kg 7th Sep
CW 98kg
GW 84kg

doingmyutmost · 18/09/2023 18:32

Well done @Loopylooni and @Sugarfree23! Try not to get discouraged @Bumblebeebum23.

Bumblebeebum23 · 18/09/2023 19:25

Well done everyone 👏 Thank you @doingmyutmost 😊 I'm not getting discouraged as it was completed expected after being off plan. The big difference for me is that instead of throwing in the towel and ruining all of my progress, I have got my head straight back in the game. Hoping for a loss next week 😊

Cookiedough123 · 19/09/2023 11:15

Hi everyone. What a horrible wet morning it is here! Yesterday I was the same weight as the previous day and today I was 14st 2.4! This makes my total loss so far -18.4lbs which I am so pleased with! Just thought I would add a graph it’s predicting my target to be reached early December. My next goal is to get in the 13st bracket. 8 weeks ago I was trying to get out the 15 bracket!

@Bumblebeebum23 you have still lost so much already - 1st 9lb is amazing! And when can you eat all that amazing food if not on your birthday!!

@Loopylooni wow thats a fantastic loss! Well done!
@Sugarfree23 i bet you get your loss mid week!

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 19/09/2023 17:23

@Cookiedough123 no don't feel any benefits yet sadly 😭 it might be because I wear baggy clothes on a regular basis anyway. Once I feel a bit more confident with my belly I might venture into more form fitting clothes 🥴 I love your graphs though, they're so inspiring!

Cookiedough123 · 21/09/2023 16:05

Hi everyone! Hope we are all having a good week! Yesterday I was 14st 2.4 today I was 14st 1.4 - pleased with that!! I have been struggling the past few days to say no to a few sweet treats. I have cut out so much from my usual diet. I would binge on boxes of brownies, flapjacks, share bags of chocolate. If I went the shop I would usually get 2 for £1 chocolate bars and eat them both within 5 minutes or leaving the shop! Sometimes i would do that twice a day!! For my breakfast I would have 2 chocolate squares bars and that just started me off negatively for the day. For me not eating breakfast has been like a revelation! Seeing that I can still cope on only 2 meals a day. I eat my tea between 530-630 and eat nothing after that. Having a large lunch around 1pm and a large tea has stopped all my snacking and binging between meals. I am finding it really easy to stick to so far so I just hope I can keep it up and then maintain!
Total loss - 19.4lb

OP posts:
OwlsDance · 21/09/2023 18:05

I've had a decent start. Not perfect, but managed to reign in some of the snacking.

Was down 1.6kg yesterday, slightly up today, but I'm sure that will go.

Keep on going everyone!

Bumblebeebum23 · 21/09/2023 18:05

Well done @Cookiedough123. The breakfast thing has been a revelation for me too. I never believed I would survive without it, but I hardly notice and it means I can have 2 proper meals rather than trying to constantly trying restrict calories. That, alongside being more mindful and cutting out binge eating junk, has definitely made this process feel less of a diet and more of a lifestyle change. Really hoping I can maintain it because, unlike previous attempts, I don't feel like I'm constantly hungry/thinking about food!

Cookiedough123 · 22/09/2023 10:13

Weigh in this morning 14st 0.8

Thats my total loss as -20lbs!!

@Bumblebeebum23 that’s how I feel too I’m not having to cut my calories and have fuller meals! I have my lunch at 1pm most days when I’m in work and I’m that busy I don’t notice whether I’m hungry or not! I just keep drinking and that keeps the hunger at bay! Although I don’t drink water just juice so technically I can’t class it as fasting!

@OwlsDance well done on your 1.6kg lost! It’s going in the right direction!!

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 22/09/2023 13:20

Weigh in this morning was 99.4kg so only down 0.2kg this week. Rubbish amount! Superdrug have stopped selling the bars I was having and I'm struggling to find a sensibly priced replacement 😩

Boska23 · 22/09/2023 13:30

Can I please join?
I started OMAD in February at 105.4kg (232.4lbs). This morning my scale said 87.9kg (193.8lbs). So total loss (so far) is 17.5kg (38.6lbs). My BMI went from 35.2 (obese) to 29.4 (overweight). I'm 5'7'' and my ideal weight is 65kg (143lbs).

Need motivation to keep going. Do you guys measure every day?
